| Presenting: Real Housewives of ATL |

Well you loved (or loved to hate) them in Orange County, then New York City, and now the Real Housewives are coming to Atlanta! The series will follow the lives of five women:
Sheree Whitfield
Single socialite Whitfield, a resident of the exclusive Sandy Springs area of Atlanta, juggles her busy home life with a packed social calendar. She is a busy working mother to three children -- Tierra, Kairo and Kaleigh. Whitfield prides herself on her fashion sense, and owned her own upscale clothing boutique -- Bella Azul -- for years before closing up shop to focus on her next business venture, a clothing line called "She by Sheree."
NeNe Leakes
Leakes resides in the upscale Sugarloaf area of Atlanta with her husband Gregg, a successful real estate investor and business consultant, and their two sons, 18-year-old Brice and nine-year-old Brentt. Leakes donates her time to various foundations and is the founder of The Twisted Hearts Foundation, which brings awareness to domestic violence against women. Leakes also hopes to open a luxury boutique hotel in the very near future.
Kim Zolciak
Kim is single (but happily dating) and lives in an exclusive gated townhouse community in Duluth, GA with her two children, 11-year-old Brielle and six-year-old Ariana. She also has her sights set on fame in the music business as a country singer, and is currently working with Grammy award-winning mega-producer Dallas Austin and will begin recording an album later this year.
DeShawn Snow
Snow and her husband Eric, captain of the Cleveland Cavaliers, recently moved to their dream home in Alpharetta, GA. Mother to three boys -- nine-year-old EJ, six-year-old Darius and five-year-old Jarren, Snow is an active member of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She exercises her faith by running The DeShawn Snow Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on improving self-esteem in teenage girls. She is a regular on the Atlanta social circuit and extremely active in local philanthropy, sitting on the board of three different charities.
Lisa Wu Hartwell
Hartwell, a resident of a luxurious country club community in Duluth, GA, is a busy career woman who wears many hats -- she owns her own real estate firm, Hartwell & Associates, a jewelry line called Wu Girls, a baby clothing line, Hart 2 Hart Baby, and juggles budding acting, modeling, and writing careers. She's a devoted wife to her husband, NFL player Ed Hartwell, and their three children 13-year-old Jordan, ten-year-old Justin and one-year-old EJ.
Check back soon for more info on the ladies and the new season! Peace up, A-Town down. (Sorry -- couldn't help it.)

If you were going to do "Real Housewives of ATL" maybe you could have found some people that ACTUALLY live in the city of Atlanta.
Up next, Real Housewives of Jersey and why the heck not... Scottsdale, Aspen and Dallas. Because too much of one thing could never ever be a bad thing... C'mon! I'm sure the ladies of RHO ATL are just as tragic as the OC and NYC ladies but I don't think my TiVo can fit anymore whiney women in the line up.
I'm soooooo excited about The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Everyone looks great! I'm loving the orange dress! Pure hotness!! I will definitely stay tuned.
im not sure about this...but then again, i wasnt sure about the other 2 shows and i ended up loving them! so i guess i'll give it a chance...
and to SMP, hardly anyone that says they live in ATL actually live there! Most of them live in the suburbs or outskirts of ATL...but they all consider themselves residents of ATL...
What about the fact that 2 of these ladies aren't even married, which seems to defeat the purpose of the "Housewives" label. Sad and pathetic. Bravo, I used to love your channel until you started putting junk like this on the air. Trust me, the world does not revolve around these women and most of us have better things to do than watch this train wreck.
Weird. I live in Atlanta and have never heard of any of these women or any of their "business ventures." Maybe because they don't LIVE in Atlanta. hmmm. doubtful if this show will be as fun or interesting as NYC or OC.
I am so excited!!!! We've seen how they do it in the North and the West, now let's see how they do it in the South! Can't wait!!!!!!
Well I am soooooooooooo happy that Bravo has FINALLY decided to put some chocolate on the t.v. screens. I will definitely be watching this entire season. Keep adding the diversity to your programming Bravo!!!!! :-)
What does this air?
Finally a bit of diversity. I loved RHO of NYC but wished there was more diversity. I will definitely watch and Tivo the new show!!
Well, i am excited! It is about time that there is a show to show positive Strong Black Women! And with some sort of power! I will be watching!
Atlanta? These are not Atlanta residents. A lot of people do live in the city of Atlanta.
I am neither rich nor a housewife but I live in Atlanta and I would have to agree with a previous post. Why not find rich housewives that live IN Atlanta. Sandy Springs is kinda close but Duluth is almost an hour away.
Yes, I'm also glad to that the new group is more diverse. I may check this show out.
I think there should be a Real Housewife of Fairfax County...Fairfax County is one of the main suburbs of the nations capital, Washington D.C. It has the highest median income of any county in America and it was the first to reach the six figure mark. This county is full of wealthy people and million dollar estates. It should take place in the exclusive areas of Great Falls or McLean. just and idea ;)
why couldnt they get people from buckhead, by far the most affluent section of atlanta, and its actually in the atlanta city limits
When are the OC girls coming back???????
I can't wait to see this show. Love the diversity and I'm sure the southern bell-ness will be in full effect.
Uhmm why couldn't they find people who live ITP (inside the perimeter)?? What is so glamorous about driving 20 miles down 400 from Alpharetta in a white SUV every time you need a pair of shoes or even a gallon of milk?
Wow! These new "housewives" sounds super diverse and interesting! Can't wait to tune in and watch their day-to-day lives unfold!
..pshaw. I have lived in Atlanta for 23 years and have NEVER heard of any of these women or their businesses/foundations. Acutally, I live in Duluth, which is where 2 of them are from, and I have STILL never heard of them.
I predict this show is going to flop.
I love that Bravo is adding some color to their lineup, please don't let this show suck.
this is going to suck. please nyc housewives save me. i want my momma jill back :)
this is going to suck. please nyc housewives save me. i want my momma jill back :)
SMP, all those cities represent what is considered Metro Atlanta. The city of Atlanta itself is actually small. Its the surrounding areas where most people live. These "cities", some incorporated some unincorporated make up Metro Atlanta. You would be suprised at how many people who claim they live in Atlanta really live in one of these cities. These women are actually saying where they live instead of just saying: " I live in Atlanta". Which is more specific and truthful.
Okay look - OC looked at the West Coast life, NYC the East Coast. Now, we will see how they roll in the South, and for that, I am excited.
The show should be called real housewives of gwinnett
Thanks Bravo for adding some diversity to the show (kind of late). but I am kind of concern as to how all of these women know each other. In the past shows they were all friends. If one just moved to the Georgia it would take time to make friends in different cities (I lived in the incorporated Sandy Springs).
To respond to A....on OC there were a few single women on that show....and on NYC, one of the ladies wasn't married and didn't have children either....so I don't think it would be fair to stop including single women now, when the show has always had single women....
I have to admit I am a bit curious about your use of the label "housewives". I always thought a housewife was a MARRIED woman who did not need to work because she was well provided for by her husband. But, Bethany from the NYC season was unmarried and soooo entertaining! Love her! I look forward to this new season, but I would like to see the NYC ladies return! I also love Vicki form the O.C, - she's crazy.
I'm so glad that you are showing a diverse group of women who are very successful. I can't wait to tune in. I really enjoy all your show!
What, nobody from Buckhead, a real Atlanta exclusive neighborhood wanted to sign up? And when did Duluth become fancy??? I lived in Atlanta for a while, and I think you are trying to hoodwink the rest of the nation about Atlanta.
I understand that the way Atlanta is set up socio-ecnomically and geographically, it only made sense to choose people who reside in the suburbs of Atlanta. Particularly because even the re-gentrified areas of the "city" itself seem to be occupied by single professionals, creative artists, etc., so the demographic doesn't fit in with the high rolling housewife theme of the show. What I do take a bit of issue with though, is why more actual WIVES aren't featured on the show? I thought the premise of all of this was to show how wives balance marriage, family and social responsibilties, and businesses (if they have outside careers)? I even understand why dfivorcees are included, as they obviously have experience to reflect on where the marriage partnership is concerned. Somehoe, though, I feel by adding too many singles to the cast defeats the purpose. adding one is enough for spice, but more than that and I think you've lost the "wife" concept completely, then the show just becomes a reality version of "Sex In The City, The Movie", with bad fashion and even worse dialogue.
I love the fact that the show is becoming more diverse, showing the "hues" of success, if you will. Bravo for Bravo TV!!!!
I love the Real Housewives of OC, but NYC was kinda pushing it. I don't know if ATC is going to be a hit but I am going to give it a try. I can't wait until the new season of RHW of OC starts, the original is always the best. Keep up the great work bravo.
I want my real housewives of orange county back. I loved them. Wasn't a big fan of new york I think I watch 2 episodes and then blocked the channel.
Not so sure I am gonna like ATL either.
I'm happy that Bravo is adding more diversity to this show BUT as a resident of Atlanta, they could have at least picked people that are more familiar. Like another poster said, they couldn't find anyone in Buckhead.....Paces Ferry etc. I've only heard of one of these ladies.
Oh come on and give these ladies a break! It is not even on the air yet and already I see negative comments. The Atlanta metro area is awesome inside AND outside city limits. I no longer live in Georgia :( but when people ask where I am from, I say Atlanta because people know the city even though technically I was born in Decatur and lived in several places, including Alpharetta, Forest Park, Marietta, and Atlanta. Let it go and watch the show with an open mind!
Ok, just what we need, another edition of "Housewives". Sorry, the shows are so fake and unrealistic, and I am sure the Atlanta show is the same. Bravo had a real opportunity to show housewives, mothers-REAL women in a reality show, and blew it. Why not have women who actually have to struggle to make ends meet, shop for a pair of $30.00 shoes instead of $300.00 shoes, and actually do housework be cast in one of your shows?????
Fake housewives!
Thanks, Bravo, for including some women of color in the mix this time! While the Housewives of Orange County are still THE best at this point in time, IMO, I can't wait to see what these new ladies have in store for us! Good job, and please continue to diversify your casting!
Give me a break. Where are the housewives of Orange County and New York. We love them! Why do we have to have new ones every year
I agree...there should be a Real Housewives of Fairfax County. But I am very ecstatic that there is finally some diversity on this show! I have loved the previous seasons but it was definitely time for some other ethnicities to shine as well!
Kudos BravoTV and keep up the GREAT work!
I have to say that I am a fan of both the shows. I've been known to freak out when I miss my shows, but when I saw a Real Housewives ATL, well, I knew that I would be a slave to this one too, especially seeing women that look like me, finally!
SMP is right. TYC - by the way, Atlanta isn't a small city and Fulton Co. is the single largest county in Georgia, so it's really not "truly correct" to say you live in Atlanta when you live in Duluth. These ladies are closer to the Commerce Outlets then Phipps. And anyone can buy a mini-mansion in Gwinnett for about $500k. Try buying a two bedroom condo on Peachtree in Buckhead for that! The real housewives of Atlanta are on W. Paces Ferry & Peachtree Battle - these Buckhead Betty's probably just couldn't be bothered to do this show because they're too busy being truly fabulous. I'm so upset that those of us housewives, in any capacity, actually living in Atlanta are about to be so misrepresented on this show.
Really? Real housewives of Atlanta living OTP. This is an embarrassment. Gwinnett county is hardly "Metro Atlanta". Oh, I hope we get to see the ladies lunching at the fabulous Mall of Georgia; maybe at Chili's or the Olive Garden! Then they can shop at the mall's fabulous stores like Payless shoes or JcPenneys. At the end of the day they can go to one of Gwinnett's trendy nighclubs like Wild Bills.
They didn't get anyone from Buckhead or anyone who actually lives in Atlanta because anyone who has enough money to be on this show that lives in those areas would never do something as tacky as flaunting it all over TV.
Please just bring back the girls from the OC!!!! I watched one episode of New York and could not stand it and I doubt I will watch this one either!
Just as the previous posts have said, Duluth and Alpharetta are not Atlanta....it may be considered Metro Atlanta but there is nothing cool or fancy about these areas. Sandy Springs is in Atlanta, but Buckhead would be a much more exclusive area to feature in Atlanta. And yes, many people do live in Atlanta proper and love it, as I do. Being an Atlanta native who went to high school in Alpharetta but have lived most of my life 'intown', I'm embarrased that these suburban, boring areas will be what people think of Atlanta:(
This show should be fun to watch. I am in Atlanta and know that the gated high end communities are very hard to find inside the city, most families with money live in the areas that the ladies do. The only people in Atlanta that live in the very high end and very few over the top neighborhoods are from very old money and their fashion and lives are probably as not as hip as thevtypical new money high income housewives. You really are portraying Atlanta as it REALLY is. The other posts are from people who probably don't get it! Single people and gay couples and couples with no kids live in small/medium homes in the city. Families with Large Incomes, Huge Homes and great cars and private schools typically live in the immediately surrounding suburbs and visit the city as needed.
How about a Real Housewives of Bismark North Dakota???? The residents of Bismark are REAL people who live REAL lives and deal with REAL issues.!
This is a terrible representation of housewives of Atlanta. It seems the "real" got left out of the equation.
These ladies don’t even live in Atlanta! What about Buckhead, or Midtown, or Ansley Park, or Virginia Highlands, or Inman Park, to name a few fabuluous INTOWN areas? Claiming you are making a show about “Atlanta” residents where they live in Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Duluth, etc. is like filming a show about “NYC” residents who live in Brooklyn and Hoboken.
please please please bring OC back for another season.... They are the original and by far the best :)
Loyal Real Housewives of the OC Fan :)
As soon as i found out about Realhousewives Atlanta I called everyone I knew, and guess what they were more than excited. Again like the others say "more diversity". Personally I know the OC girls were the original housewives but there is nothing wrong with seeing women that look a little normal. As far as the NYC i could have went without that group. They were a little too corny! Bravo I am very proud of you guys keep up the good work!
Of course there are no housewives from Buckhead. That is old money and they have the decency not to stoop to the lows of reality television. The women they have are all from OTP and most likely transplants with no southern charm. I doubt they will be able to represent Atlanta at all. What I'm looking forward to is Buckhead Betties on HBO (last I heard) and Peachtree Battle being made into a series.
I cannot believe how negative some of these comments are! If you don't like the show then don't watch it but no one wants to read your negativity. I am glad to see some diversity on this show because I have LOVED both the OC and NYC. I live in Chicago and would just LOVE to see a season take place here...just an idea. So basically, if you have something negative to say just keep it to yourself and don't watch the show, I think this board should be for fans!
it sounds exciting and nice to see that Bravo is willing to put African Americans on TV. However, I am wondering like one of te comments above why two of them aren't married since the show is called "Real Housewives?"
I agree with Renee. I'm glad to see Bravo step outside the box with "Housewives of Atlanta" by examining intelligent and beautiful women of color. I'm excited to see what they have to say and how it is received. Unfortunately, I think many of the negative comments have been posted because the show has taken a positve turn with the casting of minority women. Bravo to Bravo TV for taking a step forward in this changing environment. My friends and I will be watching!
I am looking forward to the show! Good job Bravo for finally putting some diversity on the Housewives franchise. Come on down Tejas next!
i agree that if you were going to do a legit real housewives of atlanta, you should have done buckhead. that's where the REAL housewives live. all of these other people are what we call OTP: "outside the perimeter." that is a big mark of new or lack of money; they can't afford the real real estate of true atlanta. and sandy springs isn't that upscale. nor are the other neighborhoods. fyi. then again, no old money, true atlantans would probably let you film them.
that said, i plan to watch and laugh my ass off.
Actually, some of Duluth IS in Fulton County. So technically, she may be able to actally say she lives in Atlanta. To the lady who asked when did Duluth become exclusive...take a drive through Duluth and it will answer your question.
I've enjoyed the Real Housewives series. I was watching ET and was instatntly excited when I saw there would be an Atlanta installment. In reading the blogs I wonder if all the negativity is stemming from the irritation of another Housewives or the fact the women are predominately African American? And for those who might not have heard of them let us realize there is also affluent African American social scene they may not be privy to. I look forward to the show and I commend Bravo for diversity if nothing else.

Please post info on Season 4 of the Real Housewives of OC. This was by far the better of the two Housewives programs that have aired so far.
I think this is going to be great! I had reservations about the other two housewife shows and they turned out to be great. People need to just give it a chance, either you'll love it or hate it. Either way it won't hurt to show a little support.

OK. People please get over yourselves. So What they don't live in Atlanta who cares. I am glad to see color on Bravo. I just hope they don't show their color and act like they have some sense. I love Bravo can't get enough of it.
I think you can live OTP(outside the perimeter) and still be considered an Atlantan. Atlanta's majority live outside the perimeter. Over 5 million to be exact. I live in Sandy Springs and utilize the city a lot. As for the comments made about where the truely wealthy live. Yes some live in Buckhead, but just as many live OTP. The show is not always about who has the most money. As for the comments about having single women on the show. News flash: Housewives of orange county and NY both have casted people not married or are divorced. Nothing new there.
Let these women have their fifteen minutes of fame. Back off people it entertainment. I am looking forward to it.
when i heard there was to be a real housewives from atlanta, i immediately guessed it would feature some sisters. there are definitely black women who serve on the symphony and the opera and major charities. i hope that you have picked based on the women you see featured in the Atlanta magazine's society pages, that your picked women who are representative of atlanta, an area where people send their kids to westminster, pace lovett or galloway school. women who participate in the major charities and cultural initiatives in atlanta, etc.
the west paces ferry area, the areas surrounding piedmont and chastain parks, and the area around emory university (driving miss daisy)--these would have been the areas from which to choose.
i am not a woman of color, and i am glad to see women of color included in your sampling. i'm sorry you have chosen to select women who are not wives and who are not in the atlanta area to represent atlanta on national TV.
i saw that the NYC wives were involved in the major happenings in NYC.
sigh
How about Real Housewives of Gwinnet? This show is going to flop... Diversity?? There are 3 black women, 1 Asian/American, and 1 White woman... HOW ABOUT COMING INTO BUCKHEAD OR MIDTOWN! GWINNET? GROSS!
Have to chime in here... I'm a huge fan of RHO of Orange Co and I liked RHO of NYC (not as much); thought ATL would make an interesting show because I live here. Well, let me clarify: I work in ATL, I live in a southeastern suburb. A few things come to mind here: 1) I id myself as "from Atlanta" because it's a metropolis & worldly-known, but w/in GA I am more specific as to the actual city where I reside; 2) There is more to ATL than northeast "Gwinnett!" There is affulence in Cobb, Fayette, DeKalb (have you seen those homes by Emory???), and - gasp! - even Henry Co. I'm ready for some REAL women, no more "real housewives." I'm talking working women, not necessarily rich, commuting in our God-awful traffic, rushing home to feed the kids, get homework done & be at soccer practice by 7p... THAT's what I'm ready to see. Enough of this million dollar lifestyle, 'k? Orange Co IS big bucks, so is NYC. I get it. But here in A-town we're closer to real life. Show the world THAT.
They dont even live in the city!!!! Should of pick a cast from Atlantic Station or Buckhead thats Atlanta
This is so going to suck. Actually, it typifies what many Atlanta residents can't stand and try to avoid by living in the actual city of Atlanta. I'm going to start telling people I live in a different state until this show is over and forgotten.
I love this show!!!!! As a gay man I can understand why they didn't get women that live in ATL because their husband come down to ATL to meet and my freinds who live in ATL. HEEEEYYYY!!!
Why do criticisms of the show mean that the posters have a problem with the race of the "housewives"? That kind of comment is why there are so many race problems in Atlanta. I've lived in the burbs as well as Inside the Perimeter and Duluth is not Atlanta. Like others have said, Buckhead, even Dunwoody would have been great. Dunwoody wives are the cattiest women I've ever met. That would be entertaining.
I was a huge fan of The Real Housewives of the OC and The Real Housewives of NYC.... BUT just saw the preview for The Real Housewives of Atlanta and it looks like pure trash. I live in Atlanta and there are housewives with a lot more class than the ones that you have cast.
Umm could these women try and be a little more money hungry. The first two seasons were far more interesting!! These women are horrible!!!

I LOVE Real Housewives Atlanta already and I've only seen the previews! It's about time you got some real black women up there! And Im not talking about the Flavor of Love type females either but Real Women! I hated the New Yorkers I hardly watched those episodes but I did love the OC Housewives. Great job this time guys!
Well I'm glad the show is finally serving up a little diversity. It will be interesting to see the way the gals of ATL live, the city is full of many affluent African Americans. I would love to see a season take place on the NORTH SHORE OF CHICAGO, thats a very MONEY location if I have ever been to one.
I have to say, Bravo, you missed the mark on this one. I have enjoyed the previous Real Housewives of both NYC and Orange County. Being an Atlanta resident, you could have found far more classy, wealthy and interesting women than this bunch. PLEASE do NOT show any more episodes as this is embarrasing to us Atlanta natives.
I just got finished watching the first episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta and I am outraged and totally disgusted! I live in Atlanta and this is a poor representation of my city. It is a shame you did not find many of the sucessful housewives that have created their own value....this is more of MTV cribs and the lives of athletes and sugar daddys. The language spoken on this show and the lack of class....ladies please.
I live across the street from the Sugarloaf Country Club. Pfft. Y'all, that is *not* representative of Atlanta. Duluth isn't. I'm Gwinnett born and raised, but my godmother has lived ITP half my life. Toco Hills mostly. Lenox, Phipps, Park Place, Morningside, Virginia-Highlands, Emory, Buckhead, Andrews, Paces Ferry, Peachtree Battle. The money is around those places. Before the real estate bottomed out, Virginia-Highland and Morningside had some of the highest priced homes. There's a house selling for like 26 million at Paces. Emory area, good luck getting an updated ranch under 750. Peachtree Battle, good lord, just drive around that and see the money oozing out. It's just not in Duluth, Sandy Springs, or any outer city/town.
As others have said, you tell others around the country you're from Atlanta, because our little communities can confuse people since counties connect in various parts of the city. But it's not where you're from. It's a bit like saying you want a Coke when you really mean a Dr. Pepper. It's a general term, not a true indicator.
A gated community in Alpharetta, GA is just a subdivision and doesn't qualify as an estate. An acre or two does NOT an estate make.
While watching the first two seasons of this show I kept thinking how nice it would be to see upward mobile African American women on the show, hoping to let the world know that we are also intelligent, successful, and classy. I was so excited when I saw the word "Atlanta" in the guide next to the "The Real Housewives" and could barely turn the channel fast enough. About 3 minutes into the show after hearing DeShawn say "We had went" as opposed to "We had gone" several times I started to get worried. Particularly when I realized that her husband was a professional athlete. I was still holding out hope that she'd mention some career in Finance, Technology, Engineering or something that she was using to contribute to the upkeep of the staff she boasted about hiring. My horror increased as the next segment rolled and the practically self-proclaimed gold-digging divorcee Sheree opened her mouth. I am so bummed...my young niece was really excited about the show now I'm pretty sure I don't want her to see it...
Within the first few minutes of the preview I knew I would not be watching this show again. Atlanta is the only place with affluent black people?? Are you kidding me? Just looks like a bunch of stereotypical nonsense.
BRAVO!!!! I saw the preview for the Atlanta women. I loved it!! Thank you for finally featuring African American women. So far, Orange County is still #1 with me, but Atlanta is a close 2nd. Can't wait for the season to start.
Please stop hating!!! Jo and Lauri from Orange county were not married and one of the housewives in NYC actually lives in Brooklyn. So please get over yourselves, stop being so petty. It's not that serious.
I love this show,I just watch it and it was relly good. I think everyone should give it a chance.
Ok, I'm actually from ITP Atlanta and I'm pretty tired of people who are OTP saying they are from Atlanta. People are not going to get the right idea about the socialites in Atlanta because these women are not from here. The REAL Real Housewives of Atlanta wouldn't go on this show because it would hurt their reputations too much. Sandy Springs is the closest they got to actual Atlanta.
how would people have felt if the real housewives of new york were actually from the bronx or queens? that wouldn't represent the socialite life in nyc. thats how we itp people are going to feel about how the otp housewives will represent us. i'm sure they will have nice houses and nice cars but it just isn't atl. but, as the other posts have said, the exclusive communities prob wouldn't let a reality show in anyways. just like when real world atlanta was shot down a few years ago.
I WANT To SEE THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF COMPTON NEXT!!That could be kinda cooL! Real down to earth if anything...seriously folks..Real Housewives of Bangor Manie....Alberqurque....Omaha....COOK COUNTY
Ok, I just got done watching the season preview of RHO ATL.....This should make for interesting tv. 1st of all that Sheree character talkin bout she 38??? WTF?? More like 48....this show is going to be a mess and full of drama..but I will be watching, as I also live in Atlanta...well actually Fayette/Clayton Co. border. That chick Kim??? Is that a wig sitting on top of her head or as they say a "fall"..country music my ass, she look like she just walked off of Rock of Love, just trashy....this def. will make for interesting TV!
I'm sooooooo excited and I can't wait to watch every episode!!!! Is it possible to air the show earlier than September...I'm just asking...;)
First of all Bravo I commend the producers for shedding the light on the African Community in a positive manner! It's not a surprise, of how soon that there are real beautiful, wealthy and sophisticated African American Women now who have there on series everybody either wants to be negative or compare what should have been produced or hurry and bring back the plastic fake, ungrateful, divorced and single housewives with children from the previous oc and nyc shows. For those of you that have made me tired by your waisted negativity.Karma is a bitch Black= Power in 2008 and 40 acres and a mule is Reality on Bravo.TV. If your lucky maybe one of the ATL housewives will let you come and work for them whether it's in the heart of ATL with the old money or in the subs with the new socialites. Hey you know what they say don't hate but oh! You can't help but not too!
I was very happy to hear that African-American women would be spotlighted on the new show, however, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the selection. But, I was more disturbed reading the blog. Do people really think that the OC women are high society women? The ATL wives remind me of the OC women because they seem to be a little bimboish... but I think they will be entertaining to watch. Also, since when did the viewer care how rich the women were? Alot of the women on the other shows weren't incredibly rich, so why all of a sudden must the women be the richest in the area? Inquiring minds want to know.
Loved It! I will be back on Sept 16, you all couldn't make the the season sooner?!!!
Loved It! I will be back on Sept 16, you all couldn't make the the season sooner?!!!
I seen some of the show last night like at 2AM (why was it on so late, why havent I heard about it and when does it air regularly????)from what I seen, It is gonna be a good season! I've read a lot of complaints about why they chose the women they did, just trust Bravo ppl, they havent let us down yet. Besides from what I seen last night its gonna be hard NOT to watch. I kinda fell in love with the OC ladies (even with their flaws, its what made them human) but I dont know if that will happen with these women because they seem to be obsessed with status and I wonder if they will let their guard down enough to let their human show.....Guess Ill find out!
Wow, are you serious? the real housewives of atlanta? i love the oc and nyc but atl? putting a bunch of gold-digging black women on a primtime show? Absolutely disgusting. How dare you display such things that should be kept from the world.
Oh and these women are completely psycho. They think EVERYONE knows who they are just bc they are well known in atlanta. Well guess what ladies, nobody even cares to know you or you would rule the world. Get a reality check.
DeShawm: What kind of name is that? did your momma not know how to spell? hahahahaha. clean your own house you dont need employees in your own home
I watched the preview for the RHOA and I am already annoyed (yet drawn to watch). I couldn't understand WHY a woman whose husband is in the twilight years of an NBA career would build a ridiculously huge house, have paid staff doing things that she could do herself and just spend, spend, spend. Why isn't he paying attention? Kim, the aspiring country singer, doesn't work? She has this mysterious man whom she calls Big Papa who allows her to buy a $68,000 Cadillac just because? What a great role model for her children (not). NeNe reminded me of a 'round the way girl who married up. She's trying too hard, but she does so far seem likable and real. Lisa seemed to be the only one who was pretty driven to make her OWN money and had a true partnership with her husband. Still, I wonder with all of those irons in the fire, when does she have time for that adorable little boy? Lastly, Sheree got on my last nerve. You are getting divorced, lady, so that means that you will NOT be living the way you used to! Get over it or get a real job! Still, I will watch this show out of sheer curiousity.
As a resident of the ATL, I think Bravo could have done a little better. They should have gone for an uptown, upscale neighborhood, not Duluth which is so far away from Atlanta that you can barly even call it that. I dont think this will be a good represenation of the city...one of them better be a good tennis player.
Well Jen they dont want to show REAL housewives that actually have to struggle. No network wants to do that. Its DEPRESSING. Thats why they use rich women because they consider that to be entertainment and what viewers want to see. Well if they are going to add some diversity why not incorporate some Asian or Latina women into some of those REAL Houswives shows. I dont know if Im going to watch REAL Housewives of ATL. The preview didnt really seem all that intersting.
WOW I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THIS SHOW WAS PREMIERING. I JUST HAPPENED TO FALL UPON IT AND IM A BIG FAN OF THE HOUSEWIVES SERIES! I HOPE THEY PROMOTE THE SHOW A LITTLE MORE.
ANYWAY I HOPE IT WILL BE AS ENTERTAINING AS NEW YORK HOUSEWIVES. THAT WAS MY FAVORITE! IM SO HAPPY TO SEE BLACK WOMEN!!!
THANKS BRAVO!!!!!
How can you be a real houseWIFE if you are not married?
They need to do a Real Housewives of Dallas. We have lots of richies here! Yeehaw!
I can't quit watching the "Real Housewives" of OC or NYC or Atlanta!!!! I am entertained that on each version of the show the "housewives" view themselves as powerful, classy, and deserving of whatever they want. It is so humorous to me to listen to the grammar that they use (or more to the point, don't use). The foul language is also very classy!!! With a few exceptions most of them wouldn't be anything without the money of their hardworking husbands or ex-husbands footing the bill. None of this has anything to do with race or sex. Just sad people thinking that material possesions and the "right connections" will make them somebody.
Seriously Sarah? If you live in Duluth within Fulton County, how does that make you a resident of Atlanta? Did you hit the post button and then gasp at how ridiculous your post was going to sound? Well, Georgia is in the southeast and it's next to Alabama, so technically, someone from Georgia could say they are from Alabama. Sarah, come on. As for driving through Duluth to discover it's exclusivity...is it the foreclosure signs in all the yards that make it so special? One or two neighborhoods with million dollar homes hardly make an area exclusive. I assume you've never looked into home prices in Atlanta. Not Duluth ATL, the real Atlanta.
Sarah wrote:
Actually, some of Duluth IS in Fulton County. So technically, she may be able to actally say she lives in Atlanta. To the lady who asked when did Duluth become exclusive...take a drive through Duluth and it will answer your question.

This show will be interesting to watch, which i only see one housewife who dont sit on her hands and demand or wait to recieve money. Thats right show our little young queens that its all about Glamour and Glitz. some of you wives need to wakeup theres a difference between rich and wealthy. And not one time did i here im blessed, and no one seems to be grounded except Lisa.
I am SO excited to finally see women of color on this show! I love the Real Housewives! As a successful women of color, it shows people, times are changing! Thank you for your support Bravo. I think Housewive of Atlanta is H-O-T ....HOT! Thank you!
I will definately tune into the Real Housewives of ATL. I am so excited to see diversity on TV. Good job Bravo!
I thought the show was going to be more dynamic, instead it focused on totally self absorbed african american women that were strictly golddiggers. They had no substance and only cared about superficial things that they could get by leeching off a man. Then, they wonder why men wind up treating them like an object instead of a person....go figure.
I think the show is going to be great! The only thing that bothers me is how the country singer gal can have all that money accessible to her and be wearing such a horrible wig/extensions/hairpiece or whatever that thing was hanging off the back of her head. It isn't even the same color as her hair.
She and Ne-Ne must buy their wigs at the same place.
I'm excited to see that Bravo is showing diversity, but.... ( a huge but) why not women with more class?? I am an African American woman, and I know a few wealthy African American women who do not act like that. Watching the premier was painful. Not all African American women with money, especially their OWN money, behave the way they did on the premier. Kim was honest about being materialistic, she should have been on the NY cast. The only one who seems to have class is Lisa Whitfield. The others have "new money" stamped on their forheads. I hope that they are teaching their children how to make, save, and invest money. Hopefully the children will learn more from them, besides "how to Marry up".
Has the definition of "housewife" changed? Wouldn't that be a women not working and her husband supporting her - very rich husbands in this case? Most of these women are entrepreneurs and some are not even married! Oh well...the shows are good anyway! Can't wait to see this one.
When watching the preview of "Housewifes of Atlanta," My opinions of the show are mixed with good and bad thoughts of these women.
1. Sheree Whitfield - Wow. This lady takes the digger out gold and is more so a problem not a solution with regards to Black Women. Although money can buy you all the material things of life including weak people who chase behind it. Money don't buy you happiness or true love.
2.NeNe Leakes - You go girl! Keep being real and being yourself. Don't get caught up in the hype. Your foundation which gives awareness to women of domestic violence says a lot about your character and who you are as an individual and as a black woman. You are a role model which is helping to rebuild the character and self estem of many women who have faced challanges in their lives.
3. Kim Zolciak - I'm confused? Who is this woman sugga daddy? And why would she come on national tv with her kids trying to portray herself as something she is not? Girl you broke. Your man or who ever man he is, got the money. Girlfriend, what you gonna do when this man get tired of you and the money run out? No child should have to grow up thinking this is the right way to live. Always remember game recognizes game.
4.DeShawn Snow- Oh my goodness, what an embarrassment. What Christen person acts like you. It's easy to tell when people are not use to money. Thank goodness Eric Snow keeps it real. If you have not all ready, go out and get Tyler Perry's dvd and movie collection. It's not a good thing to look down on people and think that you are better than them.
5. Lisa Wu Hartwell - Not only is she successful as an individual you can just tell she's not fake or let's the money go her head. Like NeNe, Lisa has a inner beauty which will always prevail. She is a positive role model for young women today. She demonstrates as a woman that, just because your husband is successful, you too can be successful. I would buy form her jewerly line.
I just watched the preview special and this was the most horrible representation of Atlanta you could possibly have given. I am an Atlanta Native and am so so proud of my city and it's history. These 5 women were nothing close to what Atlanta is to it's citizens and as a strong Southern city. Atlanta is oh so much more than country clubs located 45 minutes outside of Atlanta that only athletes and their families live in. I have watched Bravo and all the Housewives shows as a dedicated fan, but I'm sad to say that this show will not be making it to my tivo. It is an embarrassment to what I call home.
So why aren't the housewives, actually married ? Its fine that some of them live in the burbs, by the way sandy springs, is Atlanta, well half of it is, but can the housewives be actual housewives...
I'm from NY & hated the TRHO NY, but loved the women from OC. I'm extremely excited Bravo realized that their are affluent Black women & I can't wait until the ATL women show what we're made of. who cares if they don't live in Atlanta, it's stil Georgia for heaven's sake. I'm proud that Lisa & Shere in particular are hustlers & know how to make that $ & not just spend it.
I am a 19 year old african american woman. I have been struggling with the thought of going to college and working so hard just to get a boring job. Seeing the Real Housewives of Atlanta like totally opened my eyes. I've decided to quit school and go for the things I really want in life. I hope to meet and marry a professional athlete or movie star, which shouldn't be too hard in Los Angeles. Then it will be bling time. Thank you Bravo!
I cannot believe the negative comments that has come thru so far. From both sides of the fence. When the title includes "Real",it is how you really feel and act, that should have been a clue.Whether it is in Atlanta, outside Atlanta,if the people who "produce" the show, felt that these women qualified to be put in the show, why are so many trying to disqualify their discussion? I didn't really care for the "OC" version,so guess what? I didn't watch it.I liked the ny version with the single, the snob and the stupid. Now to those of you who don't believe women of color"have money and lots of it",get a clue.Give the show a chance. And if you have a certain reason why you already don't like the show,DON'T WATCH IT.I don't think it was outside the box that bravo decided to bring another p.o.v. to this series.I would have become a non-fan if they hadn't.And I am sure that some will agree with me,this series is probably gonna do better than the other series.lighten up folks(pun intended)
I LOVE SEEING MY SISTERS.I KNOW WE WILL SEE THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY.BUT THATS WHY IT'S REAL!!! IT'S ABOUT TIME WE SEE POSITIVE BLACK MOTHERS,DAUTHERS,WIFES,SINGLE MOTHERS.I THINK WE ARE WELL OVER DUE TO SHOW THE WORLD.POSITIVE BLACK MEN.THEY ARE TAKING CARE OF HOME.LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE.ZELPHIA
FROM ATLANTIC CITY ,NJ
This show rocks! Better than any other Housewives... so much more entertaining
100th post!
After that nonsense at CNN with "Black in America" this is a refreshing to see some wealthy black women not singing the "woe is me--poor little black woman song" like CNN tried to paint. I HATED that show. How refreshing to see this show with some strong sisters in control. You go girls and DO YOUR THING!!
P.S. Those areas are considered "metro" atlanta so it is still Atlanta. Thats just how we do it in the ATL.
I had chance to see the preview of the show. I do appreciate the diversity however, the majority of these women (with the exception of one) sem to be very shallow and not used to having any kind of money. Too many references were made in regards to their possessions. They are all "nobodies" and have aquired what they have not by hard work or their own merit, but by marrying wealthy men who just gave it to them. One of the women actually said, "I knew as I achild that I would be somebody." To her being "somebody" meant being married to an NBA player. You call that a somebody? There are many African-American women who come from true elite families or who have come from nothing but have accomplished much in their own right without a rich man's money. I would like to see this type of woman featured. These women clearly demonstrated that they came from nothing, haven't really accomplished much of nothing, are living off of a man's money and are handling it badly.
Rachel, you're pathetic. Your comments are so obviously racial, it's sickening. I know this is probably hard for you and many others in this forum, but step outside of your little boxes and understand there are other affluent groups in America, and they all don't have blonde hair and blue eyes...K? These women are snobby, classist, and pretentious and I love it!! It's entertainment, lighten up people. Perhaps, you should get on their level or get lost. You've probably already reached your potential, poor dear! If you change your attitude, there's a chance that you or those that think like you could work for one of these ladies cleaning toliets one day, there's hope for you after all.
Ladies...Ladies...Ladies,
First of all please pick up your own dignity and dust it off before you cast stones on complete strangers. You fail to realize that you are simply pawns if the advertising agency. They are banking on you associating with a particular cast member/character so that your attention will be held enough for you to watch their commercials. All this frustration is useless stress in your life. Black Gurlz: First of all do not settle! If you really want your heritage to be reflected in a positively start using your DVR as a media force. The Neilson ratings systems track how many shows are being watched as they filter information from cable companies. If you prefer having more positive images on the DVR be sure to record the series that ONLY reflect the highest denominators of your cultural experience.
White Gurlz: Welcome to the world of NON WHITENESS! Most Korean,Biracial,Columbian, Creole or any other minority is accustomed to not having a cast member they can relate too. Tragic but true. You have to realize that you have grown accustomed to being placated to simply because advertisers want to drain you dry - much like a vampire on a helpless maiden in a dark alley. When you stop being racist and mocking silly things like names or skin tone you eventually will see that this show is simply a means of digging into your pockets.
The producers are not noble for including black cast members, they are simply doing what mainstream society has been doing to blacks since they forced them into free labor centuries ago as a means of "economic development" - they are pimping black power for their own greed. PERIOD. They know that many successful B-List networks can no longer survive with out targeting AA consumers. MTV is the mother network for Bravo.MTV bought BET from an AA Billionaire that realized he would rather be rich than responsible for providing entertainment that black people really wanted. Anyway - MTV, VHI,BRAVO, FOX all of them are only after GREEN.
You women are focused on chumped up faux-reality tv instead of realizing how powerful ur collective voice is as WOMEN. I AM A WOMAN. WE HOLD THE WORLD UP ON OUR SHOULDERS.LET's NOT BEAT UP ON ONE ANOTHER - BE LADIES for goodness sakes.
ASIAN,BIRACIAL & LATINA GURLZ: Please do not be like Black & White Gurlz that fight and bicker like immature siblings vying for Daddy Media 's attention. Do not place people on a pedestal simply because their hair is as over processed and fake blond as yours or because some one's weave is as attractive as you want yours to be. ALL OF YOUR SKIN FOLK AIN'T YOUR KIN FOLK. Realize all of the separations that seem to exist are only put there by others that will profit from our divisive nature. AND MOST OF ALL DON'T forget that WE ARE SISTERS especially every 30 days! Let's put our best foot forward and always support one another.
Hey Ladies,
U R Beautiful!
Peace
I think its a good ideal to bring R.H.W. to the dirty lol. I enjoyed the first two.(FL and NYC) However, if the working title is the real housewives then that what it should be, all wives, or change the title to say what it really is 2 single and three wives. I got one better call it The real women that are doing the damn thang!
Goodness so much negativity for a show that hasn't even begun! Who cares about how far they live from the actual city. And do you have to know them to watch? Did you know or hear of any of the other ladies from the other seasons? Nope so be quiet!! These are the people that they picked for the show so get over it and if it's that big of a deal that THEY DON'T RESIDE IN Buckhead or Midtown, then get your own show put who you want on it or just don't watch. For some reason I think a lot of people are more peeved about this season because of the color of the women's skin and not their place of residence. With the hate that I have been reading I'm surprised no one has boycotted the station for misrepresenting the South. Had they all been white this blog would be empty! So what if these women are wealthy because of their husbands! Aren't most of the women featured on this show successful because of their husbands? We all know that the premise of the show is about materialistic women that try upstage one another and blah, blah, blah... But that's why we watch isn't it? Competitiveness always makes good television. So don't criticize and pick apart the Atlanta women for using broken English because the women from the other 2 seasons weren't all worldly scholars. There were some in both seasons that lacked sophistication. Really is it that serious? Get over it already.
I love that they are hard working and successful women with very good taste and beautiful families, but they are not housewives they have careers and one is not married she's single. Please find find "Real Housewives"
the preview show only leaves u wanting more. Cant wait until the show starts. Ilove the fact the most of the women are african american instead of one or two.
I have just seen the preview and I absolutely love it! I can't wait for the series to begin. This show encourages me to try and live out my dreams. Thank you Bravo.
I love that they are hard working and successful women with very good taste and beautiful families, but they are not housewives they have careers and one is not married she's single. Please find find "Real Housewives"
The show seems cool but I would have to check out a few more episodes in before I give my final node. One big problem I have is not with the fact that some of these women are single but the fact that Kim's significant other doesn't want to be on the show. At least Bethany's (NYC) boyfriend showed his face. This just reeks of her being a mistress/kept woman. I hope she isn't and I am not accusing her of being a mistress but the mystery leaves viewers to come up with their own reason this man will not show his face or even his real voice. Not to mention, the fact that her home is not as extravagant as the others (a simple townhouse in Duluth) says "kept woman." If she is, I wonder how his "real housewife" would feel about Kim flaunting herself on this show with her husband?
In addition, Toni I couldn't have said it any better than you! You hit every point I was thinking of.
I loved the preview episode of RH ATL. Finally I can see housewives who actually look like me. So far, the NYC housewives know how to do it big. They talked big, shopped big, and the drama was big. I'm looking forward to the shopping and drama that ATL will bring. ATL housewives..You Better Represent!
I was excited to see the new diverse group of Housewives however after watching the preview there seems to be a couple gold-diggers in the bunch. Like that one woman (I forget her name-the one going through a divorce that wants a 7 figure settlement). These women don't seem to be as classy as the other housewives on previous seasons. They are a bunch of women who married NBA and NFL players and lucked out. They don't seem to know how to carry themselves. Bravo should have done a much better job casting.
I DO LOVE ALL THE HOUSEWIVES SHOWS AND IM READY FOR ATLANTA. I WILL SAY SHEREE DOES NOT IMPRESS ME, HOW DOES SHE THINK SHES SUCCESSFUL, WHAT DOES SHE DO?
um....ya we all understand that they dont live IN atlanta...but they probably go to do business in atlanta!!! DUH. I am so excited bout the strong black women!!! but if u are going to leave negative stuff on here dont even bother...bcuz if u say crap it probably means you are jealous!!!
All of these Housewives, not matter where they live are spoiled. They talk about how hard they work. Bull!!! Try working all day, running after kids and handling a house. They don't know the first thing about it. I am sure they are getting a pretty penny being on this show. That's all they need more money.
LOVE ALL THE REAL HOUSEWIVES SHOWS, BUT I AM NOW GLAD TO SEE BLACK WOMEN IN THIS NEW HOUSEWIVES.THE FIRST EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC AND I ENJOYED THE NEW DRAMA AND REAL LIFE SITUATIONS THAT I CAN RELATE TO. THANKS BRAVO!
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO GETS SO MUCH RESPECT FROM ME FOR THIS PROGRAM!!! I LOVE THAT BRAVO IS SHOWCASING SUCCESSFUL WOMEN WHO MANAGE THIER CAREEERS AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH DIVA STYLE!!!!!!!!! THIS PROGRAM MAKES ME WANT TO WATCH BRAVO NONSTOP!!! THANKS BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!! WE WANT MORE, MORE, MORE OF HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA!!!!!!!!!!!
These women are a complete inspiration to me and a reality of my dreams coming true...
I have relunctantly enjoyed the first two housewives, but this one really looks questionable. From what I have seen, these women are living off of their husband's/boyfriend's success. They don't seem to actually do anything worthwhile. At least most of the other housewives worked or owned businesses. These women seem to just spend, spend, spend. There doesn't seem to be anything down-to-earth or likeable about them. I'd rather see another season of a previous housewives show. At least those women were somewhat entertaining.
I can't wait till ththis season starts. I think it will be very intereting to see how differently or similar these women will act, compared to the previous seasons; the preview looked pretty intense..we'll see!
This is going to the best real housewives yet. its bout time we get some real reality and not any aspring actors ( New York, and orange county) there is a huge buzz about this show already. Cant wait for all the drama and Sheree is HOT!!!
WoW!!!!!
I cant believe some of these blogs. Y r people hating on these women. Anybody with money and a couple of kids never really live inside the actual city its to hard to raise kids that way. Everyone wants to call them gold diggers and stuff. its not like they single going around askin for money these ladies r either married or been married for a while. So please stop the hating let these women shine. I cant wait for all the drama!!! Go Bravo!!!!!!!!!
I loved the premirer of Atlanta Housewives. It was really good to see real sistas w/money on tv. However!!! with the exception of Mrs. Hartwell, the other wives are under the impression that being married a man who is simply wealthy equals a successful life. No, No, No, having your very own real estate firm is successful; not marrying a man who is wealthy and you are a stay at home mom or better yet waiting for a 7 figure divorce settlement from a washed up former NFL player who no one has ever heard of. And my favorite one, the only white chick who is the jump off of somebodyelses' husband. I'm sure her two daughters will follow in mom's footsteps. But any way, love, love, love the show. I know NE NE & Sheree will go toe to toe can't wait
Bravo I love that you FINALLY decided to have Black women on the Show. I am the biggest Housewives fan. Happy about New York because I am a Native, however surprise that none of the women were ethnic. I currently reside in Atlanta and will support. From the preview, I gathered that there will be lots of drama. From my research and reading of the blogs here are my thoughts: Sheree, why peg her as a GOLDDIGGER? Here is a woman who was married to a ball player, currently in the middle of a divorce, why should she not be secured financially? She has small children.
Sheree is the most interesting of them all and I look forward to seeing her succeed in all her endeavors. It’s quite obvious that she take care of herself, she can act as a role model to rest of the ladies.
If Lisa, Ne-Ne, Kim and especially Deshawn does not get their physical appearance together perhaps season 2 needs to be re-named the REAL FAT *SS HOUSEWIVES of ATLANTA.... Mrs. Snow can you have your estate manager call you a PERSONAL TRAINER and a LINGUIST.
You’re right, you’re destined to be somebody… Some one who can’t speak a word of English…. How did you earn a degree?
Kim, I really don't have much to say about her.... She’s playing the game the way it ought to be. I VOTE YOU SHOW GOLDDIGGER! BIG PAPA doesn't want to be seen because Kim is the MISTRESS. Lisa you have yet to address your children by your ex husband Keith Sweat? I’m under the impression that you had a very nasty public divorce, where you were left broke and lost your children to your abusive ex husband Keith Sweat that’s the making of a great story line.
Ne-Ne..... I refuse to waste my time on her…. Could you be more GHETTO? I think you are on the show to make Black women look bad, because you’re a BROKE down BUSTED, LOUD DRAGQUEEN, EX STRIPPER and BRAVO knew that they could count on you to set us back 20 years Jigaboo.
To Rachel:
I'm interested in knowing the difference beteen a "gold digging" black female and a white one? If you don't like the show, no big deal, but don't show your ignorance by making it a racial issue.
I WATCHED THE PREVIEW AND ALL THAT I HAVE 2 SAY IS "WOW"! THERE R SOME NEYSAYERS ON THIS BLOG BUT REMEMBER PEOPLE IT'S SUPPOSE 2 BE GOOD T. V. NOT THE WELCOME CENTER 4 ATLANTA
AND THIS SEEMS 2 BE GREAT T.V. I MEAN CLEARLY THERE IS ALREADY A VILLIAN AND THE OTHERS SEEM 2 PLAY OFF OF EACH OTHER SO WELL! THANKS BRAVO I LOVED THE 2 PREVIOUS SEASONS BUT AS A BLACK WOMAN I LOVE THE FACT THAT I CAN SEE PEOPLE THAT LOOK LIKE ME ON YOUR NETWORK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, CAN'T WAIT TIL THE NEW SEASON STARTS!
Yayyy to diversity!!!!! I am so excited to see some color in the mix, other than tanning cream. I loved OC and NYC, but I wondered how the show got by casting without selecting ONE black woman from either of the cities. ATL is the typical above median level black Mecca, above even the metro area of D.C. (which isn't chocolate city anymore), but I'm still glad BRAVO made an effort to include diversity. Maybe next time some Latinas, and Asian Americans? There are wonderful women and families from each culture. Great job on this one, but we can still do better.
Bravo, I applaud your efforts to increase diversity in your programming, but am extremely disappointed in your gross misrepresentation of Atlanta. First of all, none of these women live in the City of Atlanta. Any Atlantan would tell you with a roll of their eyes that Duluth is NOT Atlanta. Not even close.
Perhaps you could have avoided offending true Atlanta residents like myself by, I don't know, looking at a map and acquainting yourself with Atlanta. You'd see that there is no shortage of affluent neighborhoods ITP, like Buckhead, Ansley Park, Druid Hills, Midtown and Vinings (again, the part that's actually inside the perimeter). And that DULUTH IS NOT ATLANTA.
Then again, you'd probably have difficulty finding participants for a show that was actually about Atlanta..true Atlanta women are far too refined for that.
Reality television? Not by a long shot.
they actually did kinda find some ppl who actually live in "atlanta" cause the wivesa are living in the METRO aera of atlanta && also there aren't many house in the city of atlanta then wehre they found the other ppl
BRAVO!!!! BRAVO!!!! CONGRATULATION!!!!! Another Big Hit!!!! May i recommend Texas?? Cedar Hill suburb of (Dallas County), Desoto; Plano, Prosper; Richardson, Sugarland suburb of (Houston) and Waxahachie. Once again CONGRATULATION!!!!!!!!! Encore!!! Encore!!! Encore!!!! I LOVE YOU BRAVO!!!!
What are all you women griping about? It doesn't really matter if the women on the show are married, divorced, single, living inside of the city, or in suburbs. Its all about entertainment. What idiot really expects reality tv to be 100% real. Everyone knows it never works out that way. The same things being criticized in this season existed in the previous seasons of the show. How come they were not criticized.
For the poster who said real women who struggle should be featured. . . . reality check: no one wants to watch that crap! That is situation is so real to so many of us out there that it couldn't possibly be entertaining in the least bit. I'm a college student, who lives paycheck to paycheck, and God knows I don't care to watch anyone else do it. I enjoy watching others who live the way that I aspire to live one day. By that I don't mean I wish to aquire their self-centered materalistic ways. I just want to be well off.
Basically I think this is going to be a wonderful show. I saw the preview & found it very entertaining. I love all of the drama that is going to be unfolding. I love the fact that there is going to be women of color on the show. Its nice to see people on tv that look like me not portrayed in a negative light.
saw the new show and loved it! they are all very dramatic, and the money is ridiculous! keep it coming bravo
I hope the women of Alanta are nothing like the women from Alanta who are posting their comments on this blog. If so I would not be catch in that place
I will be tuning in to the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Bravo needed some diversity on this series. I think some of the viewers need to be open-minded and give it a chance. However, I was hoping to see more upwardly mobile African American women with a little more class. There are quite a few us out there. Lisa appears to be the one with the most class. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I am an Atlanta native and found these women to be an insult to southern women let alone hospitality! This show in no way portrayed what a real Atlanta housewife is! Could you have picked a group of more snobbish, less classy women?
Okay, the primary difference between this show and all of the others is that the women of Orange County and NYC actually worked to earn their own money and be successful, independent women. The women of ATL don't work, their husbands (and soon to be ex) do. They are not women of financial independence, just pure laziness. I am sure they have a seperate employee just to take care of their kids... And with all of this extra time on their hands (since they don't have to do anything) you would think that they would be in halfway decent shape!
I am usually a big fan of the RH, but Atlanta hasn't impressed me. This show is going to be the trashiest yet! I am glad these women have nothing better to do than to act like drama queens in front of the world - get a life!
I am happy that Bravo has decided to put Black women on a show because we need more diversity. However, by watching the preview I do not agree with some of the things the women said. The women on the show act like black people can only thrive in ATL, or the most opportunities for blacks is in the Atlanta area. I live in the DC area, and their are sooooooo many affulent blacks in this area, who own homes in plenty of gated communities. And unlike the show, women in this area are successful without being married to a ball player. Bravo should make a show for housewives in the DC area. Especially Prince George's County MD, which is the richest Black county in the United States. I just think the selection could have been better with this group of women. Maybe showing us a doctor, lawyer, or something more. I am happy that Bravo is showing successful blacks, I just don't like the fact that some of the ATL housewives act like if you don't have money you have nothing. That's the wrong message to send out.
I can't wait for the Real Housewives of Atlanta. So what some of them are not married. Remember Jo wasn't married to her older boyfriend on the OC. She was still part of the show. I look forward to seeing these lovely chocolate ladies and the sprinkle of vanilla.
First! Let me start out by Saying Bravo to Bravo for Diversity. I'ts about time someone noticed that other races are rich and got it going on beside WHITE FOLK!
Second! To all you hating MF"s get over it, You can do whatever you want, buy what ever you want, drive whatever you want,go where ever you want. As long as you can afford it. I am quite sure none of you who are making these negative comment can afford to do anything on the level of these women.
Third! Atlanta is a metro-city, so therefore Metro Woman, I don't give a Dam where they live. I live in the wonderful Sandy Springs community and have an Atlanta zipcode and have never heard of them either, Guess what most of you have never heard of the woman on OC either, SO GET OVER IT. Go BRAVO,Go BRAVO, Go Bravo,
Never heard of this show until this morning while getting ready for my run. I hate, hate, hate "reality shows" but this looks like a winner. Love the fact that there are intelligent, confident and family oriented women of color. I live in Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys have not played in the city of Dallas in over 40 years! So what the show is not in ATL city limits. It's a metro area like the Irving, I mean Arlington, oops Dallas Cowboys. Get over it and enjoy the show!
Ok, all I want to say is I hope that this won't deface the people of Atlanta. Hopefully these women will present themselves in a civilized manner, they are representing the city, and if they screw it up, I'll be back to comment.

I have liked all of the "Real Housewives" shows especially the OC one. I'm looking forward to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" & I have not yet seen any info. on what date it premiers. Does anyone know?
I am happy to see that Bravo has begun to show the varying hues of success. I being of black and persian heritage am more than elated to see this show... my only fear is that this will be a display of black woman who are of some means yet still lack true class or new momey! Please dont do do that ladies... It embarassing, you will be acting like my mother!! And please dont respond to my post with any statements of my jealousy, I live in Coto and hate seeing tacky loud wealth... its called flash and trash
Yeah! Finally some women of color added to the housewife equation. Diversity makes the world go round. I just happened upon this show one morning, and I loved it. Can't wait to see more. Why are there not 100,000 commercials for this show like there are for the houswives of the O.C. or NYC? C'mon Bravo! I will definitely be watching.
I was raised in georgia and I know there are the "real" southern belles. Then there are these ladies but please believe i am not hating they are on tv to let us know what their lives are like and I will be there every episode. But I am sure we all can agree there is nothing like the ladies (and families) of the OC. They were the greatest and I think we as fans deserve more.
OMG I am so excited about this show!!! I cannot wait until it airs!
Dear Bravo: I enjoyed RHOC although I didn't relate to the cast. However, they seemed authentic and I enjoyed getting to know their families and their struggles. The NYC season came and went without me watching an episode; I was surprised since I'm in the NE. I'm excited about Atlanta. The upwardly mobile Black community thrives in large US cities and ATL is the mecca! Thanks for adding some diversity to the show. Next season it would be nice if you had a fully diverse cast. I'd love to see a season in the Dallas or DC Metro areas--or perhaps a large, plains state like Kansas or OK. For the bloggers who said that they've never heard of these women--it's probably because you don't travel in their circles. I am actually familiar with 3 of this season's cast members and look forward to the show--I went to college with one of the couples, my first cousin grew up with another cast member and one cast member is the soon to be ex wife of a good friend. Many of my friends, associates and colleagues will relate to this season. It promises to be entertaining!
I can't wait to watch the ROH of Atlanta. I know one of them personally. I see that there people saying negative things and just pre-judging these ladies, it must be jealousy. One of them said that there are 2 single women on here.If you watched the other ROH shows you would notice there were a few on there as well. Also another lady said they don't even live in atlanta. I can speak for one of the houswives and say that yes she does. That is exactly what her mail says and is delivered to. Can't wait to tune in.
BRAVO to you Broavo! I happy to see some diversity with the show, because I enjoy watching them all and look forward to seeing Asian and Hispanic Housewives also. Unfortunately, I can't believe some of these ignorant comments. Be Damned if you do and Be Damned if you don't! You go GURLZ!
okay for all you people hating. You don't have to watch the show, you don't even have to sit here and blog about it either. They don't put real, middle class women on their show because it would be boring. No one wants to see someone struggle as much as themselves. I loved the show...looked fabulous. Love the rest of them also. Can't wait for all to be back. As far as suburbs go it is normal for them to refer to them to the closest big city.. Chicago, Boston, Orlando, Dallas, Los Angeles...etc....,
I am an INSTANT FAN of Houswives of Atlanta!!!! I want to see more, more, more!
Cannot wait, finally some women I can relate to! Dress, rest, and impress ladies!
WOW.. where do I begin?? First off, to the haters, we must all remember, this is Television, it's entertainment, and it's meant to keep you watching, which you most likely will do. All the negative comments about the girls' location- c'mon- let's not be petty. Anyone who lives in or travels to ATL should know it's a general te
