If You Like ... Real Housewives

July 3, 2008

If you like ... The Real Housewives of New York City, you'll love Lovehampton, a new read from first-time author Sherri Rifkin. The story revolves around Tori Miller, a thiry-something New York TV-promo producer who attempts to shake up her dull life by going in on a summer share house in the Hamptons. Always wonder why Jill, Ramona, and the gang are so obsessed with the Hamptons? We can't promise this book will explain it (because sometimes those women are truly enigmas), but it will certainly help you get a little more familiar with the scene there.

We gotta say, we read the whole thing (yes -- we don't just watch TV all day), and not only is it a fast read, but it's kind of addictive! So pick up a copy and drop it in your tote on the way to the beach this weekend. If you read it, let us know what you think!

If you liked this recommendation ... you'll love that we'll be doing them on a regular basis now! We'll be searching for books, films, and random paraphernalia that might interest you, so please send along any suggestions if you have them.

Sounds like a great read! I would also recommend How The Other Half Hamptons by Jasmine Rosemberg. It's also about a sharehouse and has 3 main charachters that are 20 something girls. A great read and gives some insight into real places and locations in the Hamptons that are hot spots for the summer!! Check it out!

I read this book about a month ago, without even hearing about it. I absolutely loved it. Sherrie Rifkin is great, normal down to earth, and has a lot to dish about without being too girly and well.. immature about it. I sell a bunch of my books on eBay so if anyone wants to read it, just email me.

We want your blog comments! We will read and approve them as soon as we can, but sometimes they can take a little while to show up online. Here are some guidelines:

  1. Keep it clean. You're a Bravo fan, you know better words than most TV audiences.
  2. Avoid using ALL CAPS! (It’s like screaming...)
  3. We don't post e-mail addresses or phone numbers.
  4. Have a good time. We love that you love the blogs.
