David Duchovny: Sex Addict?!

20080828_david_320x240.jpg

I had multiple reactions this morning after learning that David Duchovny has checked himself into rehab for sex addiction"

1. I wonder if this is a publicity stunt to promote the new season of Californication.

2. Remember when Charlotte dated Carrie's sex maniac leftovers on Sex and the City?

3. This sounds about right. He's known for being academic, so some neuroses were bound to be revealed sooner or later.

4. How WILL I work a Naked Truth pun into this story ....?

I'm sure he will get the help he needs. but in my mind, a horny David Duchovny is never a bad thing.

I've wondered about David for awhile. He's an admitted porn fan which I interpret as addict. It would be great if he became the poster celebrity for this affliction.

How about a program that presents baby boomers and their interests. Even though that is becoming an aging population, there must be some kind of "competition" that Bravo could develop which would allow that generation to see themselves star. Come on Bravo, think about it!

If David were any other type of addict or alcoholic, you wouldn't be having so much fun.

If you look at the estimates of men who have some form of sexual addiction, David is hardly alone. You should be praising him for getting help.

Women just don't realize how many of their fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons are sex(ual) addicts in some form or another. Public sex, multiple affairs, multiple sex partners, online pornography, prostitutes, strip clubs, obscene phone calls, and the like are pandemic in our society.

Hopefully, none of the men you love will ever develop this addiction -- it destroys men, destroys relationships, and destroys families.

David can be addictied to sex with me every minute he'd like. If I have to screw him to keep his family together... it's worth it.

Drop a diabetic in a candy store and they might just end up in the ER.
    I feel for his wife.
I have to say her performance in "You Kill Me" had tinges of a wife who lives with an addict.
Look we are all frail humans.
We will always dissapoint someone some where.
Have some grace and give this guy some space.
He beat the press and did his own PR on this.
    very savvy.
I have recovered from a couple of things and it ain't easy.
    It is a disease.
    Cure by love.
    Bless and release
In the end the best thing folks in the limelight can do for addiction is put it in the light and then go about the business of recovery.
    Stay human.

Mmmm...how is this problem a bad thing again? I'd be happy to help David in whatever way (or position) to alleviate this problem :)

Why does he feel the need to disclose that? there are plenty of stars more famous than he is that have gone through a lot worse and we don't find out until years later. He went from prince to toad in my opinion.
