| Daniel V. at Vera Wang |

When one mentions the name Vera Wang, images of exquisite wedding dresses, piles of tulle, and impeccable beading may come to mind. Well, for those of you who haven’t been following her ready-to-wear collections, it may come as a welcome shock that the same precise details she brings to her gowns, she brings to her collection, filled with diaphanous fabrics light as air, and sumptuous jewels that would have any woman feeling like a queen – and her spring 09 collection was more of it!
The tent was filled with a slew of A-list editors from all over the world, including the much-hyped hockey player turned Vogue intern himself, Sean Avery … wearing a t-shirt and baseball cap no less. Vera is obviously one of the heavy hitters for New York Fashion Week, clearly shown as along with the numerous media coverage there were legions of blonde socialites crowding the runways for the best seat (no doubt to scope out the best looks first).
The show began and it was clear that it was a lighter, more freeing departure from her fall collection; though her fabrics are traditionally very sculptural they were also very light and airy this time around, lending itself beautifully to layering upon layering without looking bulky or cumbersome.

There’s something about Vera’s clothing that reminds me of my 60-year-old former art teacher: a little chaotic, a little haphazard, but still undeniably chic.

This collection seemed much “cooler” and relaxed than past seasons, opting for skinny leggings, cigarette pants or even Bermuda shorts at one point… but it all worked.

Overall, I thought this was an excellent collection from Vera, and one that was a slight departure than expected. It brought a youthfulness and slight street appeal that gave the clothing a bit more edge than in the past. I know that every woman wants to feel like a queen on her wedding day, but now they get the chance to feel like one at the office… out to dinner… out to drinks… minus the tiara of course.

I am a big fan of Project Runway. But I seriously think Kenley acts like a spoiled brat with a huge ego and it severly needs to be fixed!
Amanda, I agree with you. Kenley needs to stand in the corner until she learns that her silly, little girl giggling is not appopriate behavior.
Why would it come as shock or surprise? Of course her same precise details she brings to her gowns ... come on Danny V!!!
Wang has been around long as (almost) as you've been born dude!
Let's get to the meat of the matter!
More details my man, more details.
