| Daniel V Goes to Jill Stuart |

Opting for her usual show location, the palatial New York Public Library (located directly behind the Bryant Park tents for those who didn’t know), Jill Stuart sent forth a soft, billowing collection of dance-inspired creations. The space itself is fantastic for a more theatrical affair and lends itself beautifully to elevating the clothing shown to a more dramatic level.
The collection was done mostly in soft grays, white, and pastels, with tiered dresses and handkerchief hems being the main focus. I applaud Jill for always staying true to her die-hard girly aesthetic, but I really felt that this collection was more mature and subdued than past seasons, a bit more restrained and elegant. Yes there were young-ish elements, particularly with the styling, but overall I thought that this show was an unexpected soft breath amidst the chaos of Fashion Week.

wow - this designer is talented. love the dresses and the shoes!
What wonderful clothes! The late baby boomers like myself will recognize the updated leggings look and the soft flowing dresses are beyond lovely. I design my own clothes and you can be sure that I'll be making good use of the ideas.
