| Fashion Week '08: Jonathan Saunders |

Jonathan Saunders may be one of those designer names that you may or may not have heard of just yet. Having made his mark on the London fashion scene with his bold, colorful, linear designs, he’s been finding new footing and a larger fan base here in America, having shown here at Bryant Park for a year now. I have usually responded with Jonathan’s work, myself drawn to the clean lines and modern, athletic feel that many of his past seasons have possessed – successfully capturing the essence of a woman is neither a delicate wilting flower, nor an overtly strong sex kitten. I find his designs to have a masculine feel but yet are still quite flattering to a woman’s body and shape.
His latest collection was filled with boundless colors, an array of hard/soft fabric combinations and though he seemed to be moving his designs forward, there were still fabulous hints of what first made me fall so in love with him.
The show began with fitted military jackets in mouth-puckering color combinations, styled with (to me) too-soft chiffon skirts that seemed a bit too delicate; I love to play with a dichotomy of weight and texture but these seemed a bit off to me.

Love the bottom dress. Colors are beautiful and the style is great. Looks to be very comfortable and stylish. I would definately wear this.
These dresses are absolutely amazing. The printed dress is bold and bright and really seems versatile in regards to what season they can be worn in. The formal dress with the dark bodice still has enough splashes of bright colors here and there that catches your eye and pulls you in. I love them both!!!
Both of these dresses are absolutely beautiful. The print on the first dress is fantastic. This dress, or at least to me, is one of those items you could wear year-round-- sandals in the summer, heels in the fall and boots in the winter. The trim around the neckline of the second correlates nicely to the skirt and the lime color draws yours eyes through her bodice forcing you to take in the dress in all its glory.I love how he's utilized the sheer fabrics in a manner that is fun, flirty and a little naughty.
