Heidi announces that for this challenge the designers will be creating a look for a hip, international jet setter. Back in the workroom, the designers learn that they will be designing for themselves -- that is, they will each model their own look on the runway. They have 15 minutes to contemplate this challenge and sketch, and then we go shopping with a budget of $75.

2006 CFDA Award winner Francisco Costa, creative director of Calvin Klein Women, is our esteemed guest judge for this challenge. After the judging, neither a winner nor a loser is selected. Rather, Heidi announces that the designs will receive a final judgment after we see how they survive a trip. Towards that end, she tells the designers to skedaddle from the runway, head to the Atlas, and pack a bag. An airline ticket is positioned on the bed of each designer. Once at the airport, the destination is revealed: Paris!

* You may hate Jeff, but his outfit was hip and well taylored. Michael's was great too, but I liked the touch of color in Jeff's.
* Uli's... pretty dress, but not hip; more hippy. I love her patterns, but it would be nice to see other designs.
* And Angela, she was out of her league. She may have talent, but it's not high fashion.

It's about time they got rid of the YO-YO. As a midwestern woman I've been embarassed by her lack of any fashion sense from the start. Just the thought that the world was seeing us that way. . . Go back to the cornfields Angela, it's where you belong.

While i think angela's desing use of using linen for the pants was poor choice, the challange was to creat something a jet-setter was to wear trveling and looking fashionable. As gya man, i wanted to support Kayne, but that outfit was simply horrible and looked like some freak-like fashion concept that could have been picked up ina tijuana thrift shop from a poor peasant woman in a mexican slum who designed it for her sons prom outift. Shame on the judges for removing a free-thinker who dared to desing something that was comfortable and yet stylist that could have been worn by any 20 something "15" minute of fame jet-setter we see on any entertainment show each night

OK, it's official...I hate Jeffrey! What is wrong with that evil man?!? He can't design anything but garish rock star outfits. I'm sorry, when he walked down the runway, I just wanted to retch..he is soooooo gross.

Michael, you rock! Every week I love you more. And Laura, are you really pregnant..you looked so svelte and stunning! (not that you can't be stunning when you are pregnant). Please, please, please let these two and Uli be in the final 3.

And Jeff finally won--well deserved.
Kayne is loosing his grip, Vincint is out of his league, Uli is a one-trick pony, so I actually think that it will be Jeff, Micheal and Laura in the final three.

Why is it that the judges find it acceptable for Laura and Jeffrey to have the exact same style of clothing every time that they present something on the runway, but other people (like Uli) are being punished for that consistency? Uli's dress is completely stunning. Young women throughout the world would purchase a dress in that style. I find Jeffrey's taste and style wretched. Clearly, it is simply a matter of personal taste for the judges.

It was a hard decision between Michael and Jeffrey (yes, Jeffrey), but the decision for the worst was easy.
Angela just doesn't get that the rosettes are getting old. They might be "signature Angela," but not many people will buy that signature!
Laura has a very classic style, I just wish she would use a little more flattering colors. The nude jersey, on a pale redhead - what was she thinking??? Washed out is what she looked, albeit impeccibly dressed.
Uli had some color, but I agree with Michael Kors - she is making the same dress over and over again, and that is going to get her in trouble.
Michael - what can I say, he could have easily won this week. He is by far the best designer on the runway this season. I love watching him work.
Kayne looked atrocious, but if you took off that ridiculous Versace print from the shirt, the outfit would have worked. (Oh, and get rid of the 'Madonna rip-off' belt buckle!!!)
But, Jeffrey had it going on this challenge. He was truly in his element with this one, and deserved to stay in Paris.

OH MY GOD!! Finally Angela is gone!!!!! Her outfit like others was totally ridiculous....and if I see one more grannie rosette I will barf.

I am also excited about Jeffrey's win...he totally deserved it and it is about time. He has done some very good work and was passed over a couple of times.

I thought that *Mrs. High Society* made a nice dress, although she still has a thing for high wastes. I thought she should have chosen another color than *peach*/fleshtone. With her hair and skin, a green would have looked nice as would a blue.

Michael is a GREAT designer and his work is wonderful but it was nice seening someone else shine. The white outfit was great looking, but it wasn't all that. Tennis anyone?

Uli is making the same things, but her work is so great. I do think I could see Paris Hilton wearing Uli's dress.

Kane needs to be a tad less theatrical and PLEASE not everything is a pagent!

I have to say I loved Vincent's look..it was him and seemed like something a traveler would wear...a hip one. Bravo to Vincent for his first mens' wear.

Ok..now that I have given my opinons.....I have to say one more time....
na na na na.....na na na na....
hey heeeey....good bye...to Angela!!

Man, hated her attitude and I think she and her mother did try to screw up Jeffrey on the *real woman* task....Angela's mother was hard to deal with...I believe it was on purpose. She said he has never wore blue. Who hasn't ever worn blue??? Sheesh...

I think that Project Runway will lose credibility--especially after the judges voted Allison off, (what in the world were they thinking) as long as Vincent is there. And the latest outfit on the jetsetter challenge looked like my pajamas. Thumbs down--Santino sucked too but at least he was fun to watch.

And here I was worried that dear Michael was peaking too soon...but he's appearing too clever for that. And Jeffrey has more than overcome any initial bad taste he left in my mouth. Yum and yay for a solid POV! I can't imagine, for the most part, how they will whittle down to three with all of that amazing talent. As for ANGELA, watching her get to this inevitable dismissal was like PASSING A GALLSTONE! Buh-bye...now we can get SERIOUS.

FLEURCHONS! Ahngela, I'm sorry to see you go. Aw, to be honest, I was chanting "not Kayne, not Kayne!" I do feel bad for Angela. "Hi welcome to Paris. Bye now!" And how odd was it for the "in" and "out" not to come from Heidi, but from Tim and the guest judge?

And poor models!! This is also a challenge for them as well. They keep getting knocked out without even setting so much as a manicured toe on the runway!

Hope you enjoyed Paris, Tim!

Thank you producers, directors, and film editors for giving us what we asked for - an episode about fashion, fabric, and function. In a word - design.

I agreed with every word of the judges. I picked the winner and the loser.

I loved Michael's design (and thought he looked adorable) but I thought Jeffrey deserved this win - what beautiful purple fabric that coat was made of.

I'm glad the judges understood vincent's design - I also like to travel comfortably in clothes that can make it through the security screening without the alarms going off.

Laura's dress was pretty but how do you travel in 4 inch heels? These days you have to take off any shoes that have a steel shank while standing on one foot and then put them on again standing on one foot. I loved they way the way her hair looked on the runway.

I would buy Uli's dress. Yes we keep seeing the same thing again and again - but it is stuff I would buy in a minute.

Obviously Kayne could be designing stage wear - oh yeah that's what he does. I actually liked that shirt but then I am a costume designer and that's what it was - a costume.

I don't know what to say about Angela - I know no grown woman that would have been caught dead in that outfit on or off a plane. Linen!! The stuff wrinkles while you look at it. The minute you sit for 30 seconds it wrinkles. It takes the hotest iron setting to iron it and then it wrinkles while you put it on the hanger.

Just a note: there is a cheap fabric specifically made for travel clothes - it's called "Jet Set". Last time I used it I made nun's costumes.

again thanks for a fun enjoyable episode.

Bah! Absolutly hate Jeffrey. But when a garment looks amazing it looks amazing. Hate to admit it but his was definatly by far the best garment sent down the runway, though Michael's did look pretty damn hot.

This is one episode where I totally agree with all decisions made (with the slight exception that they didn't drill Vincent a little more for making some PJs for a Jetsetter).

I am continually impressed by Michael's designs, versatility, and consistent quality. Jeffrey may have talent, but he is also a self-centered jerk who thinks none of the other designers could possibly be better than he is. He makes only negative comments about his competitors. I hope he goes next. Uli and Laura are very talented but their outfits are starting to look too similar for each challenge. Kayne is a great pageant dress designer but a little shaky in any other milieu. And I still don't understand how Vincent keeps squeaking through. He is not at fashion designer level. The remaining challenges should be great. I hope Michael wins.

wow. Jeffrey is so incredibly insecure and immature. I find his esthetic to be anger, anger, anger - an ugly/beautiful thing. I wonder what Jeffrey's clothes would be like if he had a little love for others. But he hates himself so much. It shows in everything he does. Michael is this season's star and I predict that he's going to go all the way. I can't wait to buy every single thing he creates. He has a sense of beauty and proportion, of color and texture. He's immaginative and inventive. Most of all....he's cool. Cooler than cool.

Michael was robbed of a win. His garment was much better than Jeffrey's. I can see a lot of young men throughout the USA wearing Michael's outfit, but Jeffrey's outfit just wouldn't work very well in the Midwest.

Jeffrey, of course, was being his usual assine self. Past episodes have shown what a bad loser he can be, but tonight's episode has shown that he is an even bigger, obnoxious winner. HEY, Jeffrey, who are you going to harangue with your vitriolic, acidic, self-loathing now that Angela is gone.

While I am sorry to see Angela go, it was a foregone conclusion the moment she started sewing her rosettes on to the pants. ANGELA, no jetsetter is going to want an outfit that has rosettes all over it. Your outfit for the "INC challenge" was absolutely gorgeous, and the outfit you made for "Iconic Statement" was also wonderful. If you could have continued to make outfits like those, you had a stronger chance of being one of the finalist.

Uli, the judges are right. Please not everyone lives and/or parties in tropical locales. You need to think about that when designing clothes, especially if you want to expand you business beyond the Miami area.

Kayne, please remember that sometimes an understated outfit makes a bigger statement than going over the top. But, that having been said, I would have bought your outfit before I would have ever bought Jeffrey's. (Can you feel the intense dislke I have for that man?)

Laura, as always, makes an outfit that is simple elegance. If it weren't for the plunging necklines, I would consider buying one of her design.

Vincent, BORING, BORING, BORING. The pants and shirt could have been purchased off of any clothes rack in any store. Remember that Robert got voted off for being BORING.

I loved Laura's design the most. I think she has impeccable taste. I always like Michael's garments as well because, as Michael Kors says, he always thinks so much about his designs.
Bradley's design was really well-done, but I cannot stand him. It's like Wendy Pepper x 100,000... Please God, someone stuff him in a socket somewhere so I don't have to listen to his horrible attitude anymore.

Have the producers and writers of Project Runway completely lost their integrity? This last episode was a dissapointing display of unnecessary cruelty; It essentially put this once unique and charming show in the same category as all of the other vulger reality shows out there. The idea of sending the designers all of the way to Paris only to face a completely arrogant, pretentious, and unnecessarily cruel judge stripped Project Runway of its once tasteful and classy approach.

Michael or Laura should have won. Jeffery's outfit was gross. Uli needs to get away from the combining multiple prints. The only good thing is that Angela is GONE, Finally. She should have been gone after the second show.

Lori wrote:

I find it disappointing that the designers are being given so little time to work on these challenges. Last week, they all faced the new experience of designing for someone who is not model size; some of them had clients who were quite large. And they were given a measly 30 minutes to wrap their brains around this, talk with the client, measure the client, and sketch a design. And then one day to construct something. I think it's a miracle they managed to make anything, and not at all surprising they weren't able to come up with something innovative for the plus-size women.

Now this week they are again designing clothes for someone other than their little size 2 models -- they're designing for themselves. Jeffrey was probably the only designer (at least of those still around) that has done menswear -- it's not suprising the other guys were scrambling to figure it out. And once again -- ten hours to make a complete outfit, from conception to runway-ready. How can they expect anything innovative or daring with such restrictions?

I don't deny Jeffrey deserved to win this week -- his outfit was the most impressive, with Michael's a very close second. But his behavior both last week and this has been inexcusable. He's very lucky they aren't kicking him off for being a total jerk.

Loved watching Michael teach Kayne how to work the runway. Loved Kayne's shirt -- I want! So what if it was channeling Elvis? It was gorgeous!

C wrote:

I wish Michael or Laura had won instead of Jeffrey-- he's just as insufferable when he's winning as when he's losing.
Also, I believed that this challenge would be perfect for Laura since she's seen by many as "dressing herself" with almost every outfit she sends down the runway. She designed a great dress, as I knew she would, that travelled well, but I guess it wasn't as "fresh" as Michael's design. My only consolation is that if Jeff continues to wear pants that tight he'll never be able to father children and perpetuate his nasty attitude into future generations.

Michael's looked sort of cool and that outfit was michael, but white, there's a wine stain in the making. Laura I have to admit looked stunning, she finnally broke out of that Hedda Hopper mode. Then there is Vincent, even though it was the most plain and safe style on the runway, It looked great on him. It had a bit of coolness that I liked, and it was practical for travel. Hey Vincent I like you better when you pushed the envelope. Last is Kayne, poor Kayne. He has lost his mojo. That getup was over the top. I kept on waiting for him to sort of curl his upper lip and say, " Thank you, thank you very much. All in all it was a good show, and for once Mr. Gun we agreed on most of your comments.

Are you kidding me!!! Jeffrey (Mr. Rude Dude) won for that 80s rock star crap he designed??? Laura or Michael should have had this one. I think the judges just felt sorry for him and decided to let him win something for a change before he gets booted off. He should have been gone last week just for the way he treated his client. He's not going to have many customers in his future, especially after his run on the show as everyone sees what an egotistical and arrogant guy he really is. Hey Jeffrey, take it from one who knows: In business you work to satisfy and please your customer! I was in business for years and would have never considered talking to my clients the way you talked to Angela's mother, not to mention calling someone the "B" word.

The judges were so quick to notice whenever there were inappropriate women's clothing but they completely missed or ignored this phalic symbol. I'm surprised that he didn't point it at Angela and pull the trigger! I'm even more surprised that no one has censored him. He is maligning someone's mother, for God's sake. Of course, it makes for great TV fader. I do know this much that as a consumer, I will NEVER put one cent towards anything associated with his name, mainly b/c he is a mean person. I couldn't help but cheer -- Angela is GONE. Part of it has got to be that I'm also from the Midwest and Angela gives the impression that everyone in this part of the country rides a quilt covered cow to the general store!

Once again though, Vincent's creation was not that good. Were his scissors crooked? The neckline was very misshapen.

I'm glad Jeff got the nod, but I hope it doesn't make him even more insufferable. I'm a recovering addict as well and I promise -- some of us actually clean-up well physically, spiritually and emotionally. I'm thinking Jeff needs to call his sponsor for ego checks daily.

As usual, Michael and Laura were excellent. I thought Laura's was especially good since it moved away from her same ol' same ol'. And Michael, what a guy! He's just my favorite.

Can't wait for next week to see what's in store for our designers. Will they be asked to go out in the street, announce they're American and ask a passing Parisian to be their assistant?

He should have won!Angela's outfit was sad,but I do see her as having some talent, I'm sad to see her go but I think it is time. Vincent's outfit was a good standard for the sophisticated traveler, Kayne's outfit looked like an outfit for a Las Vegas performer, but it wasn't that bad,he's so entertaining, and we love his white trash accent! At least Angela tried to do something fashionable, even though she lost it on fabric choice. He should have lost for not having the quality to be on the show. I don't know how he lasts... and lasts... he's so terrible! The pilgrim outfit was terrible, and this one was just a blank. I'll miss Angela's point of view, and I think the producer's should have stepped in and stopped the harassment from Jeffrey while she was trying to work--I know I couldn't have worked with his constant malicious comments--and it looked like she was just trying to get her work done. True....Angela is not jet set, what's more it seems as though she can't even fathom that jet set may not include rosette details, no doubt it is an unfair reflection on Ohio..... Did anyone hug her other than Tim?

My 11-year old son walked in during "project runaway" and made his first positive remark ever "cool pants"..Michael, I don't think a higher accolade is possible.

Kayne....while i really, really appreciate his technical skill, I don't think he's going to make it to the final three. His taste falls short more often than not and is even suspect in his better efforts. I don't think he has the range to venture far from the prom.

Laura - would it kill you to use color? No, not subtle almost color but real color. How about the dress you designed in an emerald green to set off your hair. Pale pink for a red head....why? There are better, more bold choices.

Vincent. I must admit I am not impressed with his designs, but despite some "unfortunate" word choices during his enthusiastic rambles, I think he really has a heart and is one of the more compassionate players out there. That said, I still don't know why he has lasted this long.

Jeffrey...nice outfit this week but totally within his bag of tricks. His recycled bit blew me away but other than that I don't think I liked anything he did. The icon challenge was a disaster...the doggie challenge...don't even remember.

When it comes down to the final three...it has to been Michael, Uli (although watch out..the judges have noticed you like prints (!)....and.. Laura or Jeffrey. Which would put a more interesting show? - Laura might if she would only infuse some color or print and consider other body types....jeffrey if he could tap some of the talent of which we have seen only glimpses. Yes, yes...I acknowledge he is a complete jerk and all the comments made about him last week.

Finally, just to throw a little gasoline on the situation - I do miss Keith. Another jerk and maybe he didn't have the knowledge to execute without the crutches...but boy he had an eye and I would have loved to see his collection.

Paris is a nice change, but I doubt they will be given a chance to enjoy it!

Kayne was believable as a jetsetter heading off to Las Vegas or Dollywood. It may be tacky but country-western stars make just as much money as rock stars! Angela's outfit was ridiculous but I could imagine her as a jetsetter more than Vincent. You have to admit her garments look one-of-a-kind. (Thankfully.) She could be one of those rebellious teenage royals wearing some oddball line of "homeless couture" in order to drive their family crazy. But Vincent embodied the opposite of jetset: somebody who doesn't care what they wear because they are going nowhere. For starters, he was wearing friggin' flip-flops! He looked like the out-of-work guy who lives with his parents "until he gets back on his feet again"; the kind of guy who wakes up late in the afternoon everyday, hungover, dons the JC Penny pants and sweater that he's had for 15 years, and staggers outside in order to yell at the neighborhood kids to be quiet.

I preferred last season's PR. Please go back to two days to execute a design and refrain from drama stunts like sending all designers to Paris, only to send one right back home. Less drama and more focus on the creative process.
Jeffrey remains an ever-increasing a$$. He has style, but not much substance.

I don't think Angela's designs are that bad.....sometimes her stuff looks a lot like Betsey Johnson (who I love). I never thought she would make it into the top 3, but still, she really should have made it through this round. Kayne looked much, much worse.

She was definitely one of my favorite people on the show. She carried herself as well as she could with a brat like Jeffrey around....between the 2 of them, she was the only one acting like an adult.

Was that really necessary? I'm getting really sick of this show. I wish it would come back next year without Heidi Klum. Since she's the exec producer I don't think that's likely though.

Frankly, I was a bit worried when it was announced that the designers themselves would be the models. Isn't this a womenswear competition? Also, the term "jetsetter" was vague. The judges didn't agree with a designer's definition of the word; therefore, they were penalized. With that aside, I was very pleased with some of the designs that emerged. I was IN LOVE with Michael's seersucker pants and white shirt - so hip-hop classy! Although Jeffery is becoming more and more an unmitigated ass (especially since he finally won a challenge; I shudder at next week), his outfit fit him to a tee. Except he looked a bit bow-legged in those tight pants! I was excited that Laura did something outside her box! Vincent was about to fall into the Gap. Kayne is overly flamboyant. I knew that Uli's style would eventually overwhelm her in the challenges. As for Angela, it was as if this challenge was specifically targeted at her weakness.

Angela's gone and Jeffrey remains. I'm happy for Jeff that he has overcome his battle w/ alcohol and chemical dependency, but I think he need some help with the issues that cause that dependency in the first place. This was made so evident in his parting shots at Angela after her dismissal. He enjoys attacking people that cannot stand up for themselves. Poor Jeff obviously has self-esteem issues that have not been addressed and he won't be completely recovered until he takes care of those issues. To be frank, he has had some real crap go down the runway and the dress that he designed for Angela's mother has got to be the worst. It seemed to be a passive-aggressive way to get at Angela and he appears to take delight in tormenting her. . . how sad for him. I'm sure he remains because he is controversial and likes to stir up trouble. It is my sincere hope that he will be booted off the show before the end, but if he winds up winning it this will probably be the last season of this wonderful show that I will watch.

Okay, I know there was this universal expression of distaste for Kayne's alleged Elvis impersonation. At least nobody said "Midnight Cowboy." Perhaps that was the subtext. In reality, though, there is this eternal tension between the city/royal court and the ways of the country, which do not change very fast. I saw a rodeo cowboy look. This is how manhood is defined in some places in this country. I would compare it with places in Europe like Austria where it is still the thing for men to wear trousers cut exactly as they were in the 18th century, with long hose (not liederhosen - but "trachten") and for women to wear only slightly updated medieval styles based on princess lines (dirndls). Our country's equivalent is Western wear.

I guess the problem is that no Austrian baron who wears trachtenmoden (I don't speak German, but I think this is what they call it) would be caught dead wearing it on an international flight (which Kayne clearly did not visualize well ahead of time). The notion of "jet set" (which, I must admit, is taking a beating these days, if we mean public flying), is a public role. Native dress is seen by some as inappropriate. What it is not is fashion. But it is tribal.

Kayne is faced with giving up some tribalism to get to a more universal statement of fashion, and that is a hard fence to jump in a Western saddle.

I love him anyway.

You are becoming a behavioral science show rather than a fashion show. That is what made the first two seasons really fun to watch over and over...go back to BASICS...as your judges might say.

Angela's design was a jumbled disaster, and the poor girl deserved to leave, but Vincent should have been in the bottom two. I didn't think I could be more annoyed (and even angry!) with my beloved Project Runway as I was when the anything-but-zaftig model was called 'plus size', but really, I can NOT believe Vincent is still here. It is becoming more and more apparent that he remains purely to be 'good tv' -- what sets PJ apart from the other reality shows is that the contestants are actually creative, they aren't just there to cause drama and get ratings, and having such an untalented designer on the show just makes the series look like all the other rubbish on television. Wendy Pepper and Santino were pretty awful, but at least they were (usually) quite entertaining, and more importantly they actually cared about their fashion and occasionally proved they could truly design beautiful clothes. So far Vincent has done nothing to prove his worth, and he keeps getting away with an absolutely criminal lack of design sense and skill. I was so very happy to see Michael Kors make a very nasty face at the pants Angela designed after she pointed out that she had included her signature rosettes! Just awful! Agreed about the Jubilee Jumbles award this week to Angela for an outfit not of this world. All I could wonder was why Angela would design an outfit for herself that reminded me of Santino's awful makeover outfit for Kara on season 2. Why the devil would Angela purposely do this to herself? A most deserved Auf'ing to gypsy bohemian Angela who needs to reign in her point of view and lose the rosettes or fleurchons most of the time. Thought Uli pulled a Laura this time and an Angela, dressing herself as Laura does in variations of the same thing and as Angela did in those awful bubble skirts. So thrilled that Jeffrey actually won a challenge and a well deserved win at that, the very best outfit by far! Go Jeff! Agreed with the judges with Michael in second place! However, Tim says that the dress Laura designed was in a nude fabric? Gee, looked extremely pink and much too youthful for Laura on my t.v.!!! Hated the dress and the wrap design seemed to be very Michael dog challenge inspired and not very Laura at all. Hey, but whatever it takes to get into the final three, no, down to copying another designer's style as your own? Michael's dog challenge dress didn't look cheap to me, but Laura's looked like cheap polyester knit. Wish they would auf Laura before the final three because she never wins, just passes by in the middle in her elegant yet safe and boring way and gets passed on to the next challenge, Laura one note does. As for Kayne, he's not my cup of tea with his country western design either, but you're very wrong...not Elvis but current normal everyday country western attire. Now, Kayne needs to take that country western style and make it his own and deviate from the norm, because as was said in road to the runway, everyone has his or her place in the design world and that seems to be Kayne's niche, country western and pageant wear. Kayne is just very misunderstood by those of you, me included who don't like the country western world or don't know it. I watch their awards show and he could fit right in, but better yet he could improve that world.

Jeffrey WON & he earned that win. It's not my style personally, but he did a great job with his look for this challenge. It's very sad that my favorite show is no longer about what it claims to be about - fashion. Instead, it is about politics and ratings, pure and simple. For the past two weeks, they have rewarded undeserving "designers" for ho-hum designs, in order to justify keeping them on for another episode with horrible "stuff". (I refuse to call Jeffrey's outfit for Darlene a design - it looked worse than anything I've ever seen in a dollar store or the Goodwill, tonight even HE delightedly talked trash about how hideous it was.) Vincent should have been gone from the very first episode, Kayne has cranked out junk for 3 episodes now (he should have gone in the "recycle" challenge, or tonight, for sure). It's sick because this was once a great show. I will continue to watch for this season, because I know it's all pretty much decided up to the final three, and I have favorites who I think WILL be in there.

PR tried to "fix" something that wasn't broken. Producers, listen up!!! Change before the beginning of next season or there will not be anyone watching. If I see the same crap in the first episode next season, I won't stay around to see what's next, I'll have no investment. As it stands, I LOOOOOVVVE Laura and Michael, two first-class acts. I'm sick of the prissy drama "queens" bad-mouthing Laura, personally, I think they are SO threatened. I can't wait to see her collection in the final 3 - it will be fabulous. She IS NOT mean, the "Queens" are. She seems to take almost a maternal role towards all of the contestants, and simply tells things like they are - a real no-nonsense kind of girl. And her designs are stunning - so what if they look like what she'd wear, she looked like a freaking model herself tonight. I LIKE having a designer who has a particular style, all of the great ones have a signature "look".
Michael is also 1st class. (And of course, Jeffrey, the little brat, is threatened, threatened, threatened!!) Also can't wait to see HIS collection. It will be wonderful!
Haven't figured out yet who the third one will be - it should be Uli, but with political correctness run amouk and with the producers "fixing" things stricktly for ratings, who knows. I can see them keeping that ass Jeff as this season's Santino. Real pity, please stop the insanity.
Tim, you rock. Nina and Michael, stop saying crap to justify the producers input, no one believes it AND IT MAKES YOU LOSE ALL CREDIBILITY. Heidi, get a good designer yourself, you should know better and YOU are boring us.
Alison being kicked off - producers, you should be very, very ashamed. Her designs will speak for themselves and you will see how foolish you look - Kayne should've gone right that night, no question. Even Vincent's "dress" was better than his crap.
And Uli, you were robbed last week , great job with a different size woman than you're used to working with, it was so great.

Traveling to Paris proved to be just the right move to keep PR fresh. (Not that's there's any danger of my being bored despite the location.) And I'm glad Jeffery finally won a challenge--he clearly knows how to pull of rock star garb in a sec. Even though I'm 55, old enough to be someone's mom, I'd wear his stuff!! But my favorite is fast becoming Michael. Not only is he a sweet person, generous to his colleagues, he is also a brilliant designer and stylist. In fact, both Michael and Laura share traits, though Laura has a harder edge to her personality (kids can make you impatient with people). I predict both Laura and Michael for the final three. It's between Ulee and Jeffery for the third spot.

How cruel was that to send Angela to Paris and then immediately send her home? With the exception of Malan you can predict who the producers will vote off each week based on which designer has the least destinguishing personality.

allison was robbed. this is the exact same thing he designed for the dog challenge, but for a man. I still don't understand what happened there. vincent's designs are consisitently bad. why are you keeping him around?????

Jeffrey can only win when it is about who else...him. Top 3 candidate he is NOT. Angela has beeen on the cutting table for weeks - she is a nice person generally, but her abilities are marginal at best - it was well past time for her to go. No question, Michael is so special and blows the competition away when it comes to design, flexibility, versatility, innovation and pure talent. He can adjust at the spin of a hat under extremely challenging circumstances (e.g. changing the jacket to a shirt in this challenge; changing the skirt to hot pants in a previous segment). One can truely see him operating effectively in the real world with his insightful interpretation of a client's needs, exceptional design range and the all important ability to make it work in good and challenging conditions. He is the "man" and has earned, I repeat, EARNED a top 3 spot. I still like Laura - however she is quite predictable. Tired of the tired designs and prints from Uli. No way Vincent should still be on the show. And Kayne is about to implode. Step it up folks.

Interesting and unexpected show last night! Thank heaven that whiny thing is finally gone. I've never been able to understand why Angela dresses as she does - and her design for herself explained it.
I think Michael is the most talented of all the designers. He's also a gentleman, with rarely an unkind word to anyone. Yep. A good man. I only hope the producers don't get rid of him just to keep one of the other drama queens.
That Laura - I like her fashions, but boy, what a nasty streak she has! I only hope that the rest of the designers reaslize that her little catty remarks ("sometimes I worry about your taste, I really do") are nothing more than a carefully calculated attempt to undermine the others' confidence. Sorry - I don't like her.
Again - I do love that Michael - designs, personality, work ethic, morals.....he has it all. I wish he'd design for me!

The judges do it again! They ask the designers to designer an outfit for a jet setter myselves, then tear them apart for doing so. Uli's dress was so pretty and then they turn on her and say we've seen it before. Hello that is what she does. I didn't hear them say to Jeff is that all you know why do you always make clothes for a rocker. Michael why can't you make something not for a hipster. Laura can you make something not structured. Again she is overlooked for the third week in a row for having the best outfit. Think you've lost another viewer. Vince did look like he rolled out of bed. What was so jetsetting about that?

This episode was vastly superior to last week. I do not want to see Plus size fashion designing on my Project Runway! Enough said on that train wreck. OK. I must say that Miss Angela got her due and can now head back to Ohio and can wear that outfit to the PenCilTucky Mall, perhaps she can get Larry the Cable Guy to buy her fashions for his girlfriend .....Git R Done Angela! Oh Lord, I apologize.....

Well you know that Jeffrey is beside himself with joy. Angela is no longer there. I wonder who he will target next. Laura, maybe?. I didn't like Angela's outfit at all. It looks like most of the other crap that she was wearing on Project Runway. So we are getting down to the nitty gritty. I personal think that if Kayne does not get back on track and get his head together, he will be going next. Laura's outfits are all great, with the exception of the "Average Woman", but they are safe. She needs to push the envelope a little or she will be out also. I'm disappointed with Kayne. His last few designs have been not good. Jeffrey is really one dementional and that will not work. He can design for a certain population, but not for the "Average Woman" or the "Classy Woman". Vincent got a little shook up with Heidi's remark concerning his "Recyclable Outfit". Something about a fine line between inovation and insanity. He's last two designs have been conservative and not wacky. I definitely see Michael as one of the three going to the finals. He thinks about what he is doing and goes for perfection. Uli is another one I see going to the finals. She loves colors and she wears what she preaches. Her designs, to me are all good. I don't see a third person yet. Laura and Kayne are my wild card. I can't seem to see Jeffrey or Vincent being in the final three. I could be wrong.

Well Tim, I have to say that I am happy to see Angela go. In my opinion she and Vincent have skated through this competition with some horrific designs while designers who took a "safer" route were auf'd.

I was also happy to see Jeffrey finally win a challenge, and this one was well-deserved. I loved his rock and roll design although I took a page out of Michael Kors' book and exclaimed, "the crotch is insane!" when I saw him walking down the runway. You have to admit that the "bling" on the zipper was very eye-catching and somewhat unsettling...

I think I was the only person who actually liked Kayne's outfit. I thought it was innovative and brilliant for his style. I didn't think that it was tacky at all(although it was a TAD Vegas - NOT Elvis) since it was well-made and it was most definitely his style and something different. I also liked his "Kayne" belt buckle. That was a nice touch.

Michael's outfit was definitely one of the best, and as far as I'm concerned he could have been the winner for the past 4 weeks had it not been for the fact that I think the judges like to "spread the love".

I have to say that Uli is definitely filling into Robert's shoes and becoming "the bore" of the competition. Not to mention the fact that she's rather boring to watch, period. As talented as she is, she just doesn't make for good TV. Sorry Uli.

I was happy to see Laura take a new and softer approach with her design, although I thought she could have chosen a better color. The nude against her pale skin did not complement her well, but overall it was a change from her "severe" styles.

Vincent, oh Vincent. I have to say I was impressed that he actually pulled off menswear since I didn't have much faith in the fact that he constructs clothes very well at all. He must have picked the right fabrics because his outfit definitely traveled well although is was a bit bored and tired.

Well, that's my take for this episode. I also have to say that I love you, Tim. Especially in this episode when you said, "Designers carry on, I'm carrying myself on." That was priceless... Keep up the one-liners - You crack me up every episode!

I really disliked this episode, I felt like I was watching Amazing Race and not Project Runway. I also dislike the short tight deadlines they give the contestants to design and complete an outfit- I think they sacrifice quality output for unnecessary drama. I have to finally agree with all the other posts that hinted that the producers were trying to sensationalize the show to get ratings. This show needs to get on track and remember what attracted its audience in the 1st place - intense competition, tasks that showed individual skills, tasks that showed the potential of the contestants. If i wanted to see different places of interest, I would watch Amazing Race! I am very disappointed in this show

I don't know who planned this year's challenges, but whoever is a sadist reminiscent of de Sade. These haven't been challenges so much as endurance contests, and very mean ones. To fly someone to Paris, just to tell them they're Out! and will return to NY immediately is unbelievable. It was a mean trick to play on designers who are working their hearts out. What could you guys be thinking?

Making garments out of furnishings was stupid, making garments out of waste products was ridiculous, designing garments for overweight relatives was outrageous. But this went beyond anything I could ever have imagined of so-called professionals. Shame on you!

Runway 1 and 2 were real contests and didn't ask the designers to do anything but design. This is something else with no goal that I can see other than to humiliate. I'm fed up with Project Runway 3. It will be no hardship to do something else on Wednesday night.

While agree that Jeffrey has a point of view and his outfit was ambitious and appropriate, I as saddened to hear his remarks about Angela's mother. I was actually more than saddened, I was outraged. I just couldn't help wonder how elegant Keith's design would have been for this competition...the Jetsetter. I was totally amazed, starting with the first episode, at the scintillating quality of his talent. There was no question in my mind that this guy would win, hands down, and probably become a big name designer.

I do hope he gets another chance in Runway 4. Everybody makes mistakes, and I think he's the best talent Project Runway has seen, the kind of rare talent the show was designed to find and hasn't really found yet.

I have an idea for a Runway Challenge. How about a makeover for Michael Kors? He's been wearing that same black t-shirt & black jacket for literally years now. He complains about Uli and Robert being boring and predictable. He's been displaying the fashion range of Simon Cowell. Maybe somebody should tell him about that new invention called the color Blue. (Or Brown, or...)

What were the judges thinking? Jeffrey looked like a clown. He, Kanye and Angela could have started their own three-ring circus.

I love Michael. He has sheer genius. His clothes aren't always my style, but they are wearable, clever and have flair. More than that, he can turn on a dime if there's a problem. He did that last night with the switch from jacket to shirt, just as he did with his brilliant "Pam Grier" outfit a couple of weeks ago.

Laura always (okay, last week was an exception) designs something that I would wear in a heartbeat. Chic, elegant, and with the finest cut and tailoring on the show.

Uli needs to get back to using prints as an accent. While the cut of her dress was good, the mix of fabrics was way over the top.

Vincent was just plain boring.

I definetely give my respect to Jefferey for pulling off what was an ambitious undertaking, but the spangles in certain areas were quite odd...Michael gave me the clear distinction of a young, hip-hop incarnation of Tom Wolfe--dapper, polished, but with a very inventive twist on it all. Magnificent. Uli is starting to grate on me, since we've seen the same thing week after week from her, and while she executes her clothes so well, there's very little variation.

Overall, the challenge was great--Catherine Malandrino was completely priceless and a welcome surprise to the season!

BORING, BORING, BORING! This was the worst episode ever. I’m sure Jeffery’s designs have a very limited appeal in the rock world, but it’s certainly not my idea of fashion. I am offended by his tattoos, bad manners and past drug/alcohol abuse. I make no apologies for my feelings; he is just not the type of designer for anyone other than musicians or weirdoes. I can’t believe he won this. Michael was heads above everyone else. He is the ONLY designer this season that, to use a much overused statement, he thinks “outside AND inside the box”. His designs are so innovative, clean and well-done. The rest are all “one note” designers. I love Uli, but I she hasn’t designed anything but printed dresses with the exception of the Real Women episode. All of the designs are dull and predictable and nothing innovative ever comes across the runway except the same old tired designs.

Well...Jeff won. He won a challenge. I would write congradulations if he hadn't been acting like a jerk. He needs to get that paranoid chip off his shoulder. I didn't like Jeff's outfit. It reminded me of the 1980s and Billy Idol. Michael showed once again why he will be the overall winner this season of the show. No matter what the challenge, he rises to the occasion and designs great outfits. Laura is so underrated. Whether or not you think she designed "jet set attire", Laura's dress was beautiful and sexy. I wanted her to finally get a win. Her designs are always strong. Kayne's outfit was so Elvis/Dolly Parton.... enough said.I love prints and Uli never fails to wow me with her use of them. She needs to think a little more out of the box and not keep making halter dresses. (She was robbed last week... she should have won.) Vincent should not still be in the competition....... Angela is not in the same class as Michael, Laura or Uli. Her prior win came with alot of help and advice (that she smartly listened to) from Laura and Michael. She should have continued to heed their advice. It was her time (granny circles.... fleurchons, puffy balloon skirts, et al) to go.

Should Uli's look only be appropriate in Florida, Southern California, and the South of France, I should think that Jeffery's look was also quite specific. It is hard to see past his tatoos and general MEAN nature to appreciate his very narrow field of talent. Sorry Jeffery, you need some "play nice therapy". Angela, you had some very great moments.... some quirky ones as well, good luck on the farm! Tim Gunn, you have given Micheal very sound advice on several occassions. I think you share is most certain his place in the final three!!!! Please keep Kayne in your good graces long enough to see Jeffery packing! I simply cannot wait until next week!

He never has a bad word to say about anyone--he even had some nice stuff to point out about Angela, even though she really did need to go. I wonder how much of Jeff's attitude is coached to bring in some controversey, which makes for interesting and more entertaining TV. I can only hope he isn't so disgusting when he's being his most real slef. I fear he is, though. Gross. I hope Michael wins. He is most deserving.

I predice Michael will win because the judges love is clothing, style, personality, the way he expresses himself, his young view. Then Jeff because his Rock Style is so exciting. I am glad he won. It was funny how he bad-mouthed Angela the whole time and was sooo happy that she left. The 3rd spot is up for grabs but I think Laura might get it. The judges love her consistent classy-clean style. Uli and Kayne better listen to the judges if they want to try to steal Laura's third spot. I love Kayne, I know he is over the top, he needs to think sophistication, classy -not tacky. Uli is great but one tone. Forget about Vincent he will be out next. He was lazy to use his own pants as a pattern. He was lucky that Angela kept using those stupid flowers and horrible material, otherwise she could have been in, instead of Vincent.
