Iconic Statement

August 9, 2006

Heidi announces that this challenge will begin with a major switch; that is, the models will choose the designers. We lost two designers in the last challenge, so two models will go home. When the selection process is over, Javi and Katia are out.

I meet the models in the workroom without the designers. Photographs and accompanying biographies of ten fashion icons are on one of the worktables. These extraordinary women have helped shape fashion over the last century. The models will select an icon for their designer who in turn will modernize the look of that icon. The key word is modernize. The designers must not replicate the look in the photograph, nor should their design be retro. Their work must speak to fashion today.

The designers enter the workroom, meet with their model, and discover their icon. With very few exceptions, the designer/icon matches are made in heaven. The designers have 30 minutes to sketch and caucus with their model. Then with a budget of $150, we’re off to shop.

Yea!!!! I was worried that Mchael was going to get auf'd because of all the screen time he got, but he WON! I'm not even so sure this was his best work, but I am happy for the well deserved attention of his great work. Every episode Michael has turned out some great work and now the judges finally talked about it. This outfit was hot and made for an ad in Elle.

Thank you producers and editors for showing more Michael.

Wow, Bradley's design was hard to take, if the pants fit better I would have bought them though.

I liked Kayne's dress, but as his model walked the runway, I thought that something around the hips was wrong. She is thin so her hips were a little square and the dress emphasized it. But the dress was gorgeous. Maybe that is why he didn't win?

Angela, you are starting to make me a believer. It was a stunning dress. Good Job!

Laura's outfit was fabulous. Great Job!!!

Finally, Uli could make me a dress for me any day of the week. Her choices of fabrics is masterful, and she is a color/pattern genius.

this weeks episode had us all sitting on the edges of our chairs! Please send Angela home. Robert's rope will be around his neck soon. I have yet to like one of Jeffery's outfit's, but he is great TV! What it up with his tatted neck? It was not that way when he got picked. Go back and you will see a plain neck. Maybe it is a henna job. Michael's was the ultimate magenta outfit!

Congratulations Michael! We all knew you were going to win a challenge and the judges finally gave you the credit you so richly deserve. And I absolutely loved that Michael called his mother when he was feeling put out and at odds with the emotions of the show. I hope and pray that my own son loves me and respects my opinion enough that if he were ever in a situation like that, that he would pick up the phone and call me!

Robert's difficulties stem from when he has to design for someone or some look specifically! When left to his own ideas he produces incredible pieces. The last two outfits have been good outfits and beautifully made (except the too high slit on the INC challenge), but weren't appropriate for the challenge (according to the judges). That may become an issue overall, but I hope that he can step back inside his own creativity and excellent taste, to bring us once again, excellent, awesome work.

Angela's outfit was wonderful. For those of you Angela haters, you'll never accept it, but other than her doggie outfit, her designs and outfits have been good.

Uli's talent is the use and choice of wild prints that she makes work together. This is amazing. But her dresses all seem so similar.

The same seems to go for Laura. Not the print thing, but all of her outfits so far seem cut from the same fabric and sewn with the same patterns. While both Laura and Uli have their own definite point of view, I don't know whether they will will end up being creative enough to reach outside their comfort zone to win.

I HATED Allison's design this time. The colors eluded me and that plunging neck line was ugly with the blunt cut lines of the top.

Vincent's design was also ugly. Enough said.

While I didn't like Jeffrey's look at all, I could actually see Madonna wearing it. And as Tim pointed out, he sewed Angela's bubble skirt!

Which I believe brings me to Bradley. How could he not know who Cher was? That part aside, he has looked lost and alone (a squid without an ocean) for several episodes, maybe all of them. While the idea of the pants he made was cute (the long fringe down the front), the execution was horrendous and the fit was horrible. The top was all over the place. Of all of them, I felt that his was the worst and that the judges made the right decision.

The drama in the episode was lame. If Angela truly messed up the machine, then she should have fixed it, or gotten help fixing it, instead of leaving it. But we don't know that. Jeffrey was showing a really ugly side to his character. Laura and Michael both came to Angela's defense. Although I'll have to say, Michael acted in the more mature manner than Laura, which is surprising, as she is older and the mother of so many children. And I really disliked Jeffrey and Vincent "talking about Bradley" behind his back. What they were saying was nasty stuff, and then we see Vincent cozing up with Bradley like he was his friend. Not cool!

MICHAEL WINS!! MICHAEL WINS!! I am jumping up for joy for him!! CONGRATS MICHAEL! You deserve it, dude!! I love how you changed your plans midstream and pulled it all together - a gorgeous outfit that completely met the challenge.
YOU ROCK!!

THANK YOU PR for showing us so much Michael! I loved it! I have been begging for more Michael and finally!! YAHOO! I loved it when he called his Mom. He seems like such a normal guy - I loved his reaction to Jeffrey's explanation for butting in on the Angela screwing up the sewing machines. He's like, "right dude, I see right through you and you think you're all that. Now Shut It!"

What a great show - lots of time showing the contestants planning, working and of course interacting. I loved that so many of the designers got Icons that fit them perfectly. Michael's, Laura's, Kayne's, Jeffrey's. Either the models knew their designers really well or the production team rearranged the picks! LOL

My fav outfits - Michael's of course was my fav! The color. The detail. The fit. And yes, an awesome and perfect update to the Pam Grier Icon. Kayne's update for Marilyn Monroe was very nice, too. I really liked it and it must have been a close call for the judges. Angela really surprised me with her dress - she restrained her tendency for funkiness and did a great update on the Audrey Hepburn little black dress. Laura's was another really nice update - it was definitely Kath Hepburn style and the execution looked perfect, so well done.

I was less impressed with the others, but the worst was Bradley's and Vincent's. Bradley's was so poorly thought through and executed, Vincent's was just ridiculous. Clearly these two designers are so out of their league here; I have to believe it's just a matter of time for Vincent. I do think Bradley is sweet and funny but I think he couldn't handle the pressure.

I wish we had seen more of you Tim bbecause I freaking love you, but I forgive the editors since we got to see so much of Michael!! I am THRILLED for him. Finally!! Finally!! And he gets the Tresemme ad in Elle! I can't wait to see it.

GO MICHAEL!

FINALLY! michael knight gets some recognition! and finally! bradley is out. michael's taste and style have shone through every challenge. i'm glad we're finally getting to know him better.
and brad---sorry, sweetie, but his finishing is HORRIBLE! considering the quality of the garments we saw last night, with the same budget and time constraints, bradley managed to make a crappy two-seam top. i knew he was out before the judges even started talking. yeah, robert and vincent did poorly, but bradley's was pathetic. MAYBE if the pants fit better, and he paired them with a sparkly bikini-type halter and shrug or something...who the hell has never heard of CHER????!!!!
i guess we've figured out that brad is STRAIGHT!
(XXXOOOXXX TIM! LOVE YOU!)

What an exciting episode! Kayne should have won then Michael. I predict Kayne, Michael, and Angela to be the top 3!! Angela's dress was amazing. The texture, the fit WOW! I agree with the judges that the dress was very sophisticated yet it had her signature ruffles and rossettes. Robert better shape up or he will be out, is he cracking under pressure? Bradley and Vincent were horrible. How can Bradley not know what Cher is wearing? or other celebrities, it is part of the business? Vincent's dress looked like a Rag Doll. Jeffrey dress was very constumey and ugly. Alison's was plain. Laura's garment was beautifully tailored but she won't make it to the top three. TIM U ROCK!!

Kim wrote:

Hooray...we got to see an individual designer challenge! I love that they mixed things up by having the models choose the designers, (they have a stake in this competition, too), and select the fashion icons.

My only complaint about this episode is that the designers seemed to have been given icons that too closely match their designing style and allowed them to be in their comfort zone. What could Laura have done w/Madonna?, What could Jeffrey have done w/Jackie O.?, What could Kayne have done w/Katharine Hepburne?, etc.

I was happy to finally see Michael win a challenge and deservedly so. I was also very impressed with Angela's dress. It was very pretty and it's something people would actually wear. Kayne did a great job again. We definately know he can create stunning formal wear, however, I think we need to see what he can do with daytime and casual wear. Uli has the incredible knack of selecting beautiful fabrics...No worries of boredom here. Jeffrey's outfit just didn't do it for me. It looked better from the back than the front. I expected better from him since this is his 'vein' of style. Robert and Vincent really need to redeem themselves and fast!

And, how can you be a designer and not know anything about Cher?
Isn't that like a pre-requesite or something? Sorry, Bradley...

Best wishes & carry on!

Tim-
This week we saw a lot of Michael, and what a coincidence, he WINS!
The outfit was great, I loved what he did, and we got to see a designers thinking process. All I can say is "it's about time"

I loved this challenge from beginning to end. We saw more of the models, more creating of each garment, and more interaction between the contestants.

I think that Jeffery was right about the machines. If it's working when you get on, then it's not working when you get off, you probably did something to it. Don't get up, walk into the other room, and come back to a different machine. You should be responsible enough to fix your own mess! Jeffrey was the only one to call Angela on it, and he got pasted for it. I think that all the drama distracted him, and in the end his garment was not too well put together.

We are really getting to see the differences in style, technique and competence in the designers. Some are just so much more skilled in their craft than others. We know who's out of gas in the idea creativity department now. Several are in over their heads and sinking fast.

Now I know the secret, if you get a lot of air time, you're either going to be the winner or the loser.

I'm happy for Michael, and now I'm going to look for a preview of his ad on the website!

Well, I think the lovable ADD boy had to go.
I can't believe that Bradley knows so little about celebrities. Watching E for an hour a day should be required if you work in fashion. His technique of flubbering around finally caught up with him; I honestly don't know how he won two weeks ago but at least he had a happy birthday.
Didn't Robert originally select turquoise fabric? What happened? Linen is the worst; it wrinkles within seconds of putting it on. His Jackie options were endless: a sleek halter dress like the ones she wore in Greece with Ari; an updated version of her suits. What he created was a slouchy mess.
But I am so happy Michael won!!! His creation was fantastic and he's so thoughtful about his work. He has my vote for the ultimate prize. I know it's early in the game, but I'm rootin' for him.

I really liked the focus on the designers' garments this episdoe - there was definitely more designing and less "reality show". I also was very happy to see the focus on Michael - he is definitely one of my favorites in the competition. With Robert, what happened to that blue fabric he was eyeing at Mood? That definitely looked more Jackie O than the beige linen.

don wrote:

Personally, I thought Angela's "Audrey Hepburn" looked like she'd rolled in crepe paper for an hour and picked up a few wads of it that stuck here and there. The look didn't appeal to me in the least. Jeffrey's "Madonna" looked as if she'd been sleeping with the circus Ringmaster and borrowing his clothes.
Laura's "Katherine Hepburn" deserved more attention (though the pearls were a bit more Zazu Pitts than Kate), but Allison's "Farrah" was too much (Burning) Bed-time for me.
Why didn't Kayne win? What an incredible piece of work! And there was no indication prior that his design was going to be so amazing! I cringed when I saw him doing Cher impressions with a bolt of black fabric that, for a moment, looked like an afghan knitted for a funeral.
Robert, Robert, ROBERT! What happened to the turquoise?? Sure, Jackie-O would never have worn that color but at least it wouldn't pucker up every time she breathed!
I keep feeling that the judges threw Michael a bone here. He should have won for the coffee filter dress (do you honestly believe Keith whipped up his "very first dress ever" without poring over a pattern book with a flashlight while under the sheets the night before?). Yes, the "Pam Grier" was spot on, but it just didn't ZING for me like Kayne's Marilyn.

Oh God, how am I gonna watch the rest of the season now that my favorite hottie Bradley is gone? And it looks like Robert is on his way out soon too. Ugh! How can you be a designer and not know Cher and Bob Mackie?

Happy that Michael won. I had a hard time deciding between his design and Kayne. And Angela seems to be growing as a designer! What a surprise.

MICHEAL WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about time the judges recognized the talent that Micheal has! I was overjoyed to see that his design won! He has been my fav since the show began, and it's so great to see a nice, talented guy get the win that he deserves. At first I was a little scared when they kept showing so much of him cuz that usually means that persons getting kicked off. Now all we need are for Alison and Laura to win to keep the talent on top.
I hate to admit it but Angela's dress was very pretty and well designed.
I also hope Robert steps his game up cuz he has more talent then he has been showing lately.
Tim, you definitely make the show much more worthwhile with your words of advice!
I LOVE MICHEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a great show. I loved the models getting to choose not only their designers but also the fashion icons, and contrary to the fears of the "talent," who must see them at least unconsciously as living, breathing paper dolls, they did a fantastic job! And this challenge really brought out the overall higher level of skill in the Season 3 crop of designers. Even discounting the shallow end of the pool, into which, sob!, Robert must go, there was an amazing array of great looks to choose from.

I'm really glad Michael was recognized -- finally -- for the work he does. He has been so consistently undervalued by the judges, this will put him squarely on their radar. (This is what happened to Daniel V., as I recall: he surfaced as a judge's favorite midway into the competition, didn't he?)

Angela really nailed her challenge -- simply stunning dress. And Kayne's was fantastic, too. But Laura's could have been up there as well if it hadn't been such a sportswear look. That is exactly the point about Katharine Hepburn, though, so kudos to Laura. Bradley had amusement value for me, but I never really took him seriously as a designer, only as a cuddly boy toy. Andrae without the design skills, perhaps. (Oh, how I miss Andrae!!!)

SO happy Michael Kors is back. He makes everyone on the panel play their best game. Loved the ep. Except I do so hate Jeffrey. I don't care that he has a girlfriend and a baby. That man hates women.

Tim, I would have to say this was a great show. I love the idea of the models picking the designers and the icons. I'm sorry to see Bradley go, but come on....even Cher wouldn't wear that. I am so happy that Michael's design won, that is so Pam Grier and Kane he's so funny....Just love him to death, he should have told his model that she was distracting him from his work with all the talking. I think all the designers captured the look of their icons, except for Bradley....But he tried. Vincent was on the right path with his Twiggy design, but somewhere he got lost. Robert's design for Jackie O, was nice but not her style..Again he was on the right path, but got lost. Angela, my girl is kicking butt, I am so proud of her....She is stepping up and showing what she's all about....Keep up the good work!

Congratulations, Michael!! Finally, recognition for a truly talented designer. (Can Alison be far behind??)
I loved Michael's coffee filter dress in the first challenge. Did anyone notice a simularity between his creation (I thought should have won - or Robert's) & Chloe's skating dress for Sasha Cohen? He has such perfect execution, I do see him in the top 3, along with Alison & Laura.
As for Keith & his "talent" - does it really exist? How can we trust his designs now that we all know he's a cheater? How do we know he didn't steal them from someone on the internet? I never liked his arrogant attitude - "I'm the best," & "no one's execution was as good as mine." (Then why did he pick Alison as a teammate?) Yes, I'll agree his dress in the dog challenge was lovely, but how does a person who (supposedly) knows nothing about womens' wear come out with such perfect pleats? I think he cheated from the very beginning. Santino's arrogance was funny & laughable compared to Keith's. His is downright horrible & I'm very glad we don't have to put up with him anymore.

I was really happy to see Michael win a challenge. In my opinion his work has been consistently outstanding. He should have won the challenge with the dogs - his dress was fabulous! I've always admired his work and now I really respect him as a person now too after seeing him call his mother when he was feeling out of it. Bravo Michael!!! I also loved Kayne's dress as well as Uli's. Uli's model (her name escapes me right now) really worked the Diana Ross image on the runway and she was awesome. I have to say that I'm glad to see Bradley gone. Seeing him pull looks together at the last minute was sometimes quite painful. When I first saw Angela's dress I thought "Oh no - she's in trouble". I thought that the neckline was something that Ms. Hepburn wouldn't have worn, but when Heidi said she loved it I looked again and it grew on me. The show is only going to get more intense now that they're weeding out all the weak designers. It will truly be a competition when they get rid of Vincent.

I think Bradley's was in its right to leave. However Vincent's "Twiggy" was far worse than Robert's "Jackie O." I'm actually a big fan or Robert's work and was holding my breathe in the final decision. Love the show. It can only get better!

Much gratitude towards the judges for recognizing Michaels exceptional talent and instinctive
judgment that he created as well to go with the hotpants rather than the ordinary skirt or bell bottom trouser. He said that the hotpant made it modern and Tim Gunn was correct you see hotpants everywhere...if you noticed Miss USA had them on when she was speaking with the contestants on a previous show. Actually, hotpants can be quite tasteful if presented in a beautiful fashion and Michaels overall presentation was lovely.
He has been consistent with taste, class and elegance. Also, Michael is a good person. He chose to stay out of the fight in the workroom and when pushed in a corner he called his mother for comfort and advice. I call this a real man...One who treats other people with respect and loves his mother. Angelas dress was beautiful. She redeemed herself again...it was very modern and hip...I don't know if Audrey Hepburn would have worn a low neckline like that but it was tasteful and very well done. It was darling....I didn't like how Angela was screaming and yelling "SHUT UP" in the workroom...Her clothes may be getting classier but her behavior depresses me...Lauras clothes are gorgeous as well...very "LAURA" she was perfect for Katharine Hepburn but again another lady that continues to act mean spirited on television.
When she called Keith cuss words on national television it didn't sit well for me and when she was so mean to Jefferey I was not pleased.
You can defend someone or yourself in a pleasant way or just be silent...Alisons dress was very cute and had a darling flair...I think Farrah would have liked it...Now, to Kaynes...I know everyone thought Kaynes was ever so WONDERFUL....I beg to differ...I thought it was OK....I can't see Marilyn Monroe in something gothic...Even though the challenge was for something modern I'm kind of like Tim Gunn...I don't see Marilyn in leather etc. I could see this on a modern Jayne Mansfield but not Marilyn....I would have expected something softer and prettier...Robert missed his beat...Jacqueline Kennedy would have never worn a lacy top...NOT her style...She never wore anything revealing or boudier inspired...His dog ensemble would have been a better match for JACKIE O...How fun if he would have made a modern PILL BOX HAT...He could have put rinestones inside for all her pills...not that she was into pills but if she needed an aspirin out on the campaign trail...these days I'm sure the first ladies need more than that!!! tee hee!!If he would have continued with the Aqua color it would have been nice. Also, Robert should have had his models hair pulled back. Ulis Diana Ross was perfect...the colors were oh so Diana...I can see her in lavenders, pinks etc...an updated etc...I wish I could see Uli make something with sleeves...I know it would be hard...but just once...PULLLEEEZZZEEE!!! Jeffereys Madonna was good but for Jefferey I was expecting better...Afterall, he is Mr. Rock and Roll...He was probably unnerved after Angela screaming at him...It would shake the creativity out of me!!! Again, I know everyone was down on Vincents story about Twiggy...I thought Ms. Von Furstenberg was a bit harsh when she told him that Twiggy was still alive...I think he probably knew this but he was nervous...If he didn't....it was just a mistake...I thought Vincents dress was cute. I remember many of Twiggys designs and they were very as Michael would say "Brady like"...Big Pockets...Bell sleeves..mod, hip...I thought he did a good job...loved how his model had the painted lashes...many women painted their lashes on like this so his overall presentation was very well done...We have to remember that the judges look at an overall presentation and they were looking at the hair, accessories...this one was especially important for the hair being that it would be in Elle and also represent Tresumme....Again,
sorry to see Bradley to go but Happy to see Michael Win...Looking forward to PRs next adventure next Wed...Lolly

So long, "Sad Sack" Bradley. I liked you because you always came from a different place and were never dazzled by flash and BS. But really, you don't know anything about Cher???? Are you from Mars?

Michael is someone I'd like to know, What a great guy. His clothes are beautiful and he is cool, calm, collected and fair. He deserved to win.

Kayne's dress looked SLEEZY to me. Marilyn was sexy but never sleazy!

Laura did the right thing but, as she feared, the Hepburn look can recede in the flash of Diana Ross or magenta hot pants.

Vincent! Did you and Bradley meet on Mars? I actually made clothes for Twiggy years ago....for some made for TV movie she was in with Connie Selecca. Try thinking Vincent! What made Twiggy big when she came on the scene? She represented the new fashion force of YOUTH. High fashion in the 50's was not for the young. In the 60's, this changed and Twiggy represented the takeover. I would have thought, what is young today? [Empire waists, tight fitting clothes, bare midriff, and like in the 60's, short skirts] I would have emphasized the long limbs of my model not made Tudor sleeves! That plaid might even have worked...in a bias cut super mini. But those sleeves! that parti-colored 70's shift...ugh.

Keith's outfit was this and that and everything Tim says it was...plus UGLY. Bradley's was clueless, but not as ugly and the mess Keith tacked together.

About sewing machines. Sometime they screw up all by themselves. Angela didn't actually "break" it. But we used to have a rule in the shop: You leave the machine as you found it....especially if it was "someone else's". That means even changing the thread back.

BTW....Angela is a smart cookie. She is learning from her mistakes. She can use her poofy rosettes if she INCORPERATES them instead of just sticking them on. Forget the bubble skirt, girl. You've done that. Her black dress was beautiful.

I have to say though I think angela got lucky this time, I don't think she has the talent that the other designers have...or any talent at all, other than construction. Ulli on the other hand, I thought made the most beautiful dress! At this point I really see Ulli and Michael as the stars, they're designs are always gorgous.

I was thrilled to see that Michael finally won a challenge and I loved what he did. Tim, you were totally honest with your opinion of hot pants but Michael knew what he wanted in this case and he knew exactly how to make it work. Way to go Michael!!!!!

I also loved what Kane did with his modernization of MM. I think his ideas were right on. Angela also was definitely the darkhorse in this race. Her dress was a real surprise compared to her other individual designs. Last week she had Michael & Laura to help her out but this week, flying solo, she proved that she does have some creative talent up her sleve. Laura, Allison & Uli' crations were also very well done. While I wasn't exactly into Jeffery's dress, I could definitely see Madonna wearing it and was not surprised that he made it to the next round. As for the bottom three that was no surprise either. Robert was definitely lacking in creativity and judgement here. He's much better when it's his idea and not a given task to complete. I really hope he can get a grip on things and show the judges what he's capable of before he runs out of less capable opponents. Vincents design was, well lets just say, more Vincent. I'm sure Twiggy wouldn't have been caught dead in it even though he kept talking about her like she was already taking the proverbial "drirt nap." I honestly think his days are numbered even though he should have been gone on the first challenge. Then there was poor, poor lost Bradley. You just want to hug him to death. I can't imagine that there is a person out there, gay or strait that doesn't know who Cher is. If Will & Grace's Jack Mc Farland was a real person, he'd have dropped over dead hearing Bradly proclaim that he didn't know who Cher was. Try as he may, our poor lost boy just couldn't get it together this time. Not even with the false friendship of Jeffery & Vincent. As much of jerk that Keith came off as, he was a real friend to Bradly in the dog episode, truly encouraging him to get his design completed while these two were just making fun of him behind his back. Just remember what goes around come around and we'll laughing when you guys get Auf'd too. Especially you Vincent and your many personaities. Goodbye Bradley, I wish you the best.

Hi Tim,
O YES..YES..YES..Michael Won!! It's about time...I totally agree with you that this is a well deserved win. Especially when he's against two other equally strong pieces. His modern Pam Grier was simply perfection, Kayne's modern Marilyn was devine & Angela did a wonderful job at pulling off modern Audrey. So, for Michael to have WON this, makes this win that much SWEEEETER. I'm just sooo elated for him.
O Tim, I love ur comment on Jeffrey's using Angela's bubble skirt for modern Madonna. It's hillarious..., u're absolutely right.. he did use the "bubble skirt". His layering still give me headache.
And Robert...what happened to the pale turqouise fabric that he bought? It would've been much better than the brownish, yellowish linnen he used. O well, glad he's still here... I hope he pulled himself together and soon.

I am sooooo proud of Michael. I think his outfit was off the chain. I liked Kayne's dress as well, but I am still glad that Michael won. I guess I have to eat my words from last week, when I said that Angela would hang herself if she was left by herself to complete a task. She sure showed so many of us, who questioned why she was still on the show. Her dress was very wearable and I can see people buying it. So, hats off to you Angela. I also thought Laura did a great job. Alison's design, was just ok to me. Jeffrey's I really didn't get. Uli's was so her and right up her alley. Vincent, I am sooo ready for him to be gone. Robert, Robert, Robert. What has happened to you? Why are you off your groove and missing out on what should have been a slam dunk challenge for you. Bradley, I am so sorry that you have to go, but lets face it, PR is not your ocean, therefore, go be free and find your place in another one. Oh, by the way, please google Cher and learn who she is.

Love the show!!!!!!!!1

Michael is always pondering if people would actually wear something. Design for the sake of design isn't enough for Project Runway judges, the outfits also have to be usable.

I wish Project Runway would take the same approach to this horribly designed web site. The pink text is too smal and too low in contrast for the average user that has to strain to read your posts. Further, is it really necessary to break your post into 11 pages?

For those struggling with the layout, disable the page colors and increase your text size to make this site readable. It's much easier to do with Firefox or Safari. I pity those stuck with Internet Explorer and trying to read your wisdom. It's painful, like Bradley's Cher dress.

I have introduced this show to all of my friends and now we have "Project Runway parties" on Wednesday nights!

I've recently discovered Project Runway and now I am addicted and I am not even a designer! I'm a Chef and love the creative, problem solving aspect of the show - soo MacGyver (give him any ordinary item and he could always get out of a sticky situations). My favorite dress for the icon challenge was Angela's, I could really wear that dress- it was both beautiful and sexy! She's really starting to evolve - I thought she would be out after that tacky, boogie, rosette obsessed skirt she created for the dog challenge. But my main man is Michael - he's my vote to win. I was so happy that he finally got recognition from the judges. My other favorite designers are Laura for her classy, beautiful style and Uli for her choice of fabulous fabrics. I don't get Vincent and Robert has been so disappointing the last two challenges - truly boring! Carry On!

Another sigh of relief here from someone who is glad to see Michael finally get some attention. I am still amazed at the dress that Michael did for the dog challenge. That dress was really overlooked. This pink set was sexy, not trashy, and super cute!
Now, Farrah is def an icon, but I don't think that she is specifically a 'Fashion icon' she's known for her hair, and maybe for a red swimsuit, but no other fashion sense. I think the producers could have chosen better (no insult to Farrah)
I guess Angela just couldn't help herself from putting some pouf on that dress!
This was a really fun show.

Yeah!!!!!!! Michael won !! 'bout time he was recognized !! I've got one thing to say to the designers, dramatic color- finally !!! Robert, that's one of the reasons the judges keep saying your stuff is boring.
I love that Michael stood up to Jeffrey for ragging on Angela so much. Michael may have agreeed in his heart with Jeffery's point (as many of us would have) but you don't have to be an ass to get your point across. You can do it with style and grace like Michael and our beloved Tim do. Speaking of style and grace...
Kayne, you are talented but your catty ways are beginning to wear. I know it's nearly impossible to concentrate while the model is talking endlessly, so why didn't you politely ask her to be quiet ? Just ask her to be quiet so you could concentrate on giving her a wonderful work of art to wear. That "models are to be seen and not heard" was offensive ! They are still people. You say you are from the south?? Well I am too and I'm ashamed of you! Also, a previous poster has got it right, we've got to break you out of evening gowns to shake things up.

Carry on Michael !!! Your my fave!

Dear Tim,

Hooray too for Michael -- finally getting the recognition he absolutely deserves. He definitely belongs in the Top 3, along with Kayne and... Alison? Uli? ... even, Angela? I like Laura's work but I agree that it's too flat and staid (except for the first challenge).

I do wish the judges would call Uli on the fact that all of her designs are basically the same dress. In this challenge she crossed the straps of her default halter-dress uniform, and it was lovely & well-made, but you can't have an entire line of clothing featuring nothing but halter tops. Well, maybe you can in Miami Beach, but if that's all she wanted to do, why not stay there? Why come to Project Runway?

Jeffrey is an ass. And so is Vincent. The latter is spoiling to get bumped off -- his designs are awful, simply awful. And really, Jeffrey's aren't much better. And they're both such whiney little bitches -- they're far bitchier than any of the women on the show. Kayne would do well to distance himself from them instead of allowing himself to get sucked into their vortex of negativity. Total downers who make ugly clothes. I agree with you, Tim, that Jeffrey's Madonna outfit was fit only for Cirque du Soleil. And Vincent's outfit...wretched, absolutely awful. These two gossip and gripe about others out of insecurity, whatever Jeffrey might tell himself. At least Vincent seems to know, deep down, that he sucks -- his cringing grimaces when discussing his work give that away. Yuck to them both.

Dearest Tim, you are always such a pleasure to listen to and watch. I wish you could have more camera time. I wish PR would hold a contest to attend a dinner party with you!

Tim's Take, as usual, is pretty much dead on. What was Robert thinking with a rope belt? Would Jackie O. ever wear a rope belt? NO.
Vincent better be going next. He seems like a likable guy, he fits in with the younger designers in his apartment, but his designs! Oy.
I personally thought Angela should win. The Angela haters have not yet been silenced. They are waiting for a misstep and they will pounce.
Kayne's dress was amazing, but I didn't quite get the bunching around the hips and butt and it did something strange to the model's figure.
I completely understand why Michael won, though, and it was deserving, but personally I would wear Angela's dress (will it be available to buy anytime? Heck there are some other one's I'd love to buy too. Uli's winning dog challenge dress for one... hint hint to Bravo). Speaking of Uli, she has totally seduced me with her prints. Love them! O.K. so her dresses are all similar, but you need simple lines with bold prints.
Laura, always beautiful, but so safe. All those neutrals. I'm starting to fall asleep with her designs. She's not a contender for my top three b/c I don't think she'd take any risks. So my top three you ask? Michael, Uli and Kayne. It hurts to leave Angela out. There are just to many amazing designers. And I'd be picking her b/c I love the underdog. I think the other three would do the best job and make the best show for Bryant Park and Bravo. Angela needs to mature past the puff skirts (I can handle the granny circles). I'd like Alison and Laura to round out my top six. I had such high hopes for Alison, but I'm not so sure now. I didn't see Farrah at all in her dress. And can anyone peg down her accent? What has been her geographical journey through life so far?
Moving on to Jeffrey... does he really have such low self esteem that he has to bad mouth everyone? And I HATED the way his top moved on the runway. I loved what Laura said to him in the sewing room (go MIchael for being so mature in handling the drama... way to set an example to the older designers!)
I love Diane von Furstenburg; way to put Vincent in his place! Twiggy is still around and looks as beautiful as ever. Vincent sounded like he was speaking at her funural!
Designers (and all others) keep life (and fame) in perspective.

Angela's dress was pretty, but the plunging neckline was all wrong for Audrey Hepburn -- vulgar, which she never was. Uli's dress and especially Laura's Kate Hepburn were very strong. Kayne's design and execution seemed right for Marilyn -- she had impact coming or going -- but I question the leather. Marilyn Monroe was all softness and vulnerability. Leather seems too tough. The right man won -- go Michael. As for the losers, Vincent and Robert needed to trot out earlier designs this week -- Vincent's from Week 1 looked like something Twiggy would have worn in Vogue in 1967, even with the hat. Robert's "Chanel" for the Doggie challenge would be a better choice for Jackie O. Robert's suit and sweet camisole made a fine outfit, but the judges were right -- she would never have been rumpled at any time (plus that rope belt!). Jeffrey's Madonna was as ugly as his personality seems to be. What a jerk. Alison's was hideous, I thought -- neckline ugly and color choices blech. She knew nothing about Farrah (!) which probably was the problem, as with poor dear Bradley and Cher. Bradley had to go this week with that awful top, but Vincent had better be next!

What an amazing challenge! Kayne's Modern Monroe look was spot-on and Laura's Kate Hepburn was beautiful (though I do worry that Laura has pigeon-holed herself) but the definite winner was Michael. Way to go Michael. It would be nearly impossible to make the lovely Pam Grier any more chic and cool than she already is and this outfit would have done it. Talk about Foxy Brown for the 00s! As for Angela, she has been slowly winning me back after the first couple of disasters. Bradley definitely had to go and I can only pray that Vincent is next. Such ego should be matched by great work and, sadly, it isn't.

Finally Michael has won a challenge and is getting recognition for his work, all of his pieces so far have been perfect.

Onto Kayne's dress, something was off in the back when the dress was on the runway and someone else stated this before. I just don't know, it looked like the dress didn't fit properly on the model.

It seems like Uli's designs always look the same. She always does long dresses with different color patterns and mixing them together. I think she is very limited when it comes to designing other pieces.

I'm glad Bradley left, from the beginning he has never designed anything good. Besides designing, he was a little off mentally. I liked him, but he was scared boy just didn't know how or why he was there.

I think it's only a matter of time before Vincent leaves and Robert needs to get back on his game because I really like him and I don't want to see him go. My favorite designers are Michael of course, Robert, Kayne, Laura and Jeffrey because without him the show wouldn't be the same.

Michael deserved to win. He had the riskiest job...how to make an updated "hot" outfit without becoming vulgar...and he did it beautifully...in red no less! Okay, Angela pulled off a great dress but wasn't she saved because "the little black dress" was dictated by her draw - the texture, which worked because it was black, could have backfired if she had more than one color or even a different color. Oh Bradley - you could have done anything for Cher...silver wasn't a bad choice - a monolith was. Jeffrey..junky- even junky madonna usually does it better - Laura, on target but a bore. Robert-pull it together! It seems that your best stuff is Barbie-inspired (like week one) we know you can do better. Heidi, ridiculous, it's a good thing you have immunity.

Dear Tim,

I love watching you on the show and I'm so happy to read your insights each week. Thank you for putting up so many pictures in this week's recap; it really makes my internet work breaks much more entertaining.

Project Runway is the best show on television without a doubt! It not only provides us with a great insight into a wildly creative world, but it also is packed with drama because of the interesting people it puts together. Why people post criticisms is beyond me.

Now, for this week's episode...I'm so happy that Michael finally won. His outfit was amazing, and I really felt like he had been overlooked before (especially on his beige outfit on the dog challenge). So congrats Michael!

The real shocker this week was Angela. I think a lot of people owe her an apology (myself included) for having previously thought she had no talent. Way to prove us wrong Angela!

Laura deserves high praise this week too -- not just for a beautifully elegant design, but also for standing up to Jeffrey. Despite the fact that Angela is not her best friend, she came to her rescue from Jeffrey's abuse. No matter what the underlying issue may be, nobody deserves to be attacked like that. Kudo's Laura! And Jeffrey, if you were really so confident in your own talent, you wouldn't need to be so mean to everyone else.

Finally, I predict that Vincent's time is finally up. The competition is getting too fierce for designs with silly pockets and hats. Maybe you can ask Robert to use his connections at Matel to get you a job designing for Raggedy Anne? She could use a new outfit or two.

Jennifer wrote:

Twiggy may be alive and well, but as a fashion icon, her day was the '60s. Vincent's outfit was, if possible, his ugliest yet, but he wasn't wrong to speak of her in the past tense from a fashion point of view.

While we are on the subject - could one of the designers rescue Heidi!

I really thought Kayne's dress would win the contest last night. It was truly a modern version for an iconic figure. I disagree with the comment that Marilyn would never have worn it--afterall, she was the first to pose for Playboy.
Michael's outfit also fit the icon perfectly, although I would not wear hot pants. And I liked Laura's outfit as well. I would really love to wear her designs as well as Michael's and Kayne's. (too bad they don't have a contest designing for petites!)
Jeffrey is a bore--his designs are aesthetically unpleasing and his attitude is boorish. I agree with Laura, if he was "all that and a bag of chips" then why is he in the competition? Why isn't he showing at Bryant Park? Frankly, I hope he's gone soon with his attitude tucked firmly between his legs.
Vincent--you're terrible. Sorry to be blunt, but none of your designs have been remotely something I'd wear--none.

Vincent just needs to retire from fashion all together. When he left the first time from the fashion industry he should have stayed gone.

I did not like Robert's dress for Jakie O. She would never wear something with a belt like that and her dresses have ALWAYS been from the knee and down. If Robert did not make the coat, the outfit would have been okay.
I did not like Bradley's look for Cher. He could have done and amazing outfit that is out-there and unique..but the outfit he make was not Cher and was boring.
Kayne's dress for Marilyn Monroe was my favorite! It was a modern version of the dresses that she would wear. The only problem I had with it was the choice in color because it was too goth.
Micheal's dress was also amazing! It was Pam's style and went with the look of his model. The color choice also brought out her figure. I think he is the designer to beat.
All of you may have liked Angela's outfit, but I did not. I think all of her clothing looks very weird. Also I can't stand those flower things. This week her dress was ruined with them!
Vincent's outfit to look like Twiggy was a disaster! If Twiggy was a rag doll, it would have been fine, but sadly she's not. The make and the fabrics for the dress stunk. I think Vincent should be the next to go.
Jeffery's dress was very strange. Yes, it was Maddona's style, but the way it came out where the model's breasts were was weird. Also the plastic fabrics were ugly.
Uli's dress was very Diana Ross! I can imagine Diana wearing this down the red carpet. The colors were amazing as well as the cut for the dress.
Laura this week did unusually bad. A modern look is something that is fasion foward, but her look is a fashion rewind. The height of the colors were very grandma like. It was one of the worst.
I saved my favorite for last! I loved Alison's dress! It was what Farrah would where. The colors, fabric, and cut where beautiful! It was a well made dress.

I thought, reluctantly, that Angela's dress was quite fetching. I love Laura, but the outfit didn't have any 'umph'. I love this show so much, I sat in a room with no a/c in over 90 degree temperature, because the other tv in the bedroom, the picture tube was failing, and i HAD to see these dresses in their proper light and colour. Angela surprised me. I thought she'd be right back into her crazy designs without the taming influences of Michael and Laura, but her dress was very fashion forward.
Poor Bradley. He's been hanging in there by the skin of his teeth. Sorry, kiddo, but it was time for you to go. Next bye bye... Vincent. His creations are right out of the 70's (I should know). You're just not ready to deal with 2006.

The original fabric he chose would have made a lovely outfit that was far better than that staid linen. I do agree with Tim though that Vincent and Bradley should have been the final two, but I suspect they wanted to give Robert a "wake up" call. Hopefully, he will be motivated and not discouraged by it. Junior High girls can design better than her. Audry would never wear that plunging neckline. Jeffery better go back to designing clothes for those rock stars! Ugly beyond words. Robert needs a swift kick in the pants to get him out of his down mood. Alison is a good designer and will come around. I didn't like what she did this week but I have liked all her previous work. Laura needs to design beyond her comfort zone-- I'd like to see something creative from her. Her work is absolutely beautiful and well made, just kind of one-note.
Ulli's dress was beautiful, and spot on for Diana Ross. She uses the patterns and colors so well.
Angela surprised me - two weeks in a row. I wasn't sure if she could do it without the balance of Michael and Laura keeping her instincts in check.
Kayne nailed the Marilyn look-- beautiful dress. I'm sure the judges struggled between Michael and Kayne's design.
Alison missed with Farrah's dress-- really didn't get it at all. It was all right, just missed with fabric, color and design for Farrah. For Farrah, you would design to show more of her figure...
Robert's been on the bubble too often-- he needs to nail the next challenge or I fear he'll be out and give Vincent another chance.
Loved the episode!
Can't wait for next week.

I absolutely loved Michaels's outfit. He finally is getting some of the credit he so richly deserves. Angela's dress was wonderful as well. It kills me to say that because she should have been auf'd several episodes ago. Kayne, I love him and hope to see him in the final three, but did anyone else see the back of that dress? What was that horrible thing happening around the hips and butt areas? Bradley should also have been gone quite some time ago. I think that they should have as their guest judge someone who is not from the fashion world but rather a regular joe, or joesefina. I think that would be good but just my opinion.

Wow... so glad I finally got to the board... it took a while... Everyone is in love with this show! I came across it accidentally about 3 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon when they ran the first two episodes. I was immediately hooked. I thought that Michael's "coffee filter" dress was off the chain for creativity and execution. His model swished that dress down the runway.... but Keith took it! What a waste. But finally Michael is getting the recognition he deserves.

I have to admit that I fell asleep before the episode aired; I ran to the site as soon as I got in from a business trip to see who won and who went home. I too am sorry to see Bradley go but at least he had a good birthday... he was such a fish out of the ocean. I am going home now to catch the rerun. But I totally agree with everyone's opinion posted here today. Michael your are the man to beat! Laura, Alison, Uli are all okay too -- but Michael ROCKS! Hey! He told all of us in the beginning... fashion is his life! It shows. Well-deserved win.
Project Runway is the only reality show worth watching. KUDOS!

Vincent's dress was hideous. It looked like a waitress uniform at a pancake house. But Bradley's was even worse. It looked like a high school home ec project. Michael deserved to win, and Angela totally surprised me. Her dress was lovely. But even though the rope was a little nutty, I didn't think Robert's Jackie O was all that bad. I actually liked the cut and color, if not the fabric.

So that's where I've seen Vincent's dress before? Raggedy Ann. Knew I had seen that dress or something similar before. Thanks for the enlightenment to the poster. Finally, Michael wins. I thought twice that he should have won or been right up there with the winner, on the coffee filter dress and on the dog challenge outfit. To whoever said that Jeffrey's oufit looked like Madonna had rolled around with the circus ringmaster and then stolen/taken his clothes to wear, two things: 1-You can't see Madonna wearing the ringmaster's clothes? Are you sure you know who Madonna is? 2-You didn't see the W issue with Madonna as the equestrian did you? Just awful. Also, don't insult Cirque du Soleil by comparing what Madonna wears to their costumes, okay? But seriously, agree about what someone posted about the neckline of Angela's Audrey Hepburn dress. Looked more like a neckline on the dresses that Laura has been wearing, so she did rub off on Angela on the Inc. challenge after all. Love Uli's prints. So glad that someone is doing prints so well. Wish that Robert would wake up too. Hoped that he would make it to the final three, but unless he changes, now I hope to see Michael, Uli, and Jeffrey. Love Tim's blog.

I'm glad Michael won, his was well thought out, well designed and well executed. Uli's was beautiful and VERY Diana Ross. didn't quite get Allison's, and looking at the photo today I can clearly see the model's undies....didn't Stacey get auf'd for that? Vincent's was a mess, Jeffrey's was oddly proportioned, Angela's was gorgeous, Bradley's was just sad. As you said, was he living on a deserted Island? anyway, love to read your comments and enjoy your presence on the show! Carry on!

He should never have been selected for PR, like Vincent, he's waaaaay out of his element. Robert, please, snap out of it before it's too late! Jeffrey's behavior confirms my 1st impression -- here's someone who's every bit as nasty as Keith was. I doubt Madonna would have worn that mess, it's better suited for Courtney Love (pre-rehab). and even Angela didn't deserve that nastiness. Why the complaints about Laura's mouth? Remember last season Daniel V. was always getting bleeped.
Vincent, I hope you can still salvage your 401K babe cuz you're gonna need it.
Lastly, how refreshing not to see anybody whine about Malan anymore !! Yes he was touching when he lost, and he talked a good game with his posh accent, but he really didn't accomplish anything extraordinary.

Angela's dress may have been beautiful and have classic inspiration, but the neckline would not have been right for Audrey then or now, she would have looked more like Laura did in the earlier shows. Laura, get some color in something besides your hair and lip choices--too much beige upon being upon neutrals. Remeber what Heidi said about Chloe's shrugs! Finally, I plan my life around this show. When Vincent, Bradley and Robert were on the runway. I thought why don't they save some time and send them all home. Atrocious!!!!

Angela has come a long way. I'm really happy to see her growth. Michael is a really good designer. Each week there are at least three people who do a great job. Those three see to change. Laura is so classically chic. How long can it last? Allison, did a great job last week. Jeffrey sure does remind me of woody woodpecker. I think he is very theatrical and not so mainstream. I think Kayne puts out a wonderful garment every time, if he was just a little humble, it would help. Uli does beautiful fabric beautifully, but it always seems to have a halter neckline. She really needs to break out. Top three Kayne, Angela and Michael.

Of course, the shows and picks are already over and it's all just speculation. BUT, love this show.

It's about time Michael won! I was blown away by him from the first episode (and really, it's difficult to make a good decision on the designers based on the first outfit only). I also enjoyed the designs by Kayne, Allison (my Cape Cod heroine), and Uli. I was afraid that Michael was going to get kicked due to his larger amount of screen time, like others did. It made me really happy, though, because it helped show some more of his personality (which is part of what won me over). I wasn't too shocked with Bradley's departure. I akways felt a bit bad because he kind of felt like the odd one out most of the time. He never designed anything that really wowed me. He's probably a great designed, I just feel that this show wasn't the place for him to show it. Robert definitely needs a boost somehow. I think he's great, but he has been lackluster the last 2 times. Ok, time to go search for the copy of Elle with Michael's design!

My initial reaction was that Michael was going to be OUT. They kept giving him airtime and I didn't know how to handle it! Well, the end result blew me away! I was so excited Michael won that you would have thought I won the challenge myself. It was well deserved and well overdue (robbed in previous challenges).

I believe that his model, Nasri, is also a star. She has modeled for a couple of the winning challenges. Her unique beauty and that HAIR makes her stand out from the rest of the models. Michael's strong design and her fabulous hair made this a perfect opportunity for the both of them. I hope Nasri wins a well deserved modeling spot in the final challenge.

Poor Bradley was comic relief, but he was way out of his league from the first episode. Bye Bye!

I like Kayne's concept for Marilyn Monroe, but the execution wasn't there for me. Something in the back of the dress did not fit well. I’m not sure her overall look would have popped in a hair ad.

My favorites at this point are Michael, Laura, Uli and Allison (since she is a little edgy).

Michael, I hope to see your collection during Fashion Week!

I still think that the editing is way over the top and slick, however, in saying that, I think that this episode was the least produced. It is becoming very clear who is standing out among these talented designers. Dare I say that the judges are beginning to make sense. Although the designers made it very easy this week. Angela is the sleeper in this group and Micheal, Alison, Uli and Laura are the 5 that will fight for the 3 spots. I would not be disappointed with any of them. Keep in mind that the other 2 winners Jay and Chole were expert sewers and tailors and that bodes strong for Laura, Micheal, Uli and Angela. So what are they looking for. Jay was funky but beautifully executed, Chole knew how to fit and tailor a body. Micheal and Angela. Both of them fit the profile that was established the previous shows. It still remains to be seen, what crazy challenges will be next.

Tim --

Loved your blog this week. The comments were so right on.

As much as the judges criticized Vincent's garment, I too was suprised that he was not one of the last 2 on stage. It was awful, though not as bad as Bradley's.

I don't know what Robert's problem is lately. If he had used the original fabric he got at Mood (the light blue) he could have done a Jackie O channeling Anna Wintour channeling Jackie O -- pastel dress and jacket with black stockings and heels, and shades.

Michael's outfit was fab! And Nazzri even looked a little like Pam Grier. The total effect was a knockout. Congratulations to Michael on a well deserved win. I can't wait to see what he designs after this contest is over. Maybe Michael Kors will offer him a job since Daniel turned down the job last year.

Michael was less confrontational than Laura, but that isn't automatically "More Mature". Laura doesn't seem to think much of Angela, Yet still she lent support to Angela when Jeffery seemed out of line. Nothing wrong with Michael's response- but in that case, better if everyone followed Laura's lead than Michaels.

It was nice to see Michael get a win... but, well, Maybe I just don't GET hotpants. Uli, Angela, Kayne were all fantastic.

Tim's Quite Right- Vincent Clearly should have been Sweated a lot more for his bizzarre idea, and unpleasant result. -But, it Seems Bradley was just a little too Homesick to be denied.

Finally! Michael wins! Frankly I thought his coffee filter dress was so creative and I thought his dress for the dog challenge was something that I would kill for.
He really knows how to design for women. His clothes are flattering and sexy.

Brad- sorry to see him go, but truthfully I almost fell off the chair last week when he almost won for the dog dress.
What an utter mess that was.

Vincent's dress was horrible. It looked like a dress I made with a Simplicity pattern in the 8th grade.

Uli, Allison and Laura- always up there. Always consistantly put out great pieces.

Angela's dress was OK, but seriously I wore a dress almost exactly like that to a wedding I got at Macy's about 5 years ago.
It wasn't that special then, and it sure wasn't last night.
The pants she made last challenge reminded of pants I wore when I had a bartending gig. Tacky.

Kayne is good-no doubt about it. Some of his clothes can be a little 'Showgirls', but he has talent.

Who did I forget? Guy with neck tatoo. I haven't liked one thing he's done. Everything is patchwork and wrinkled.
Poorly constructed, poorly designed.

I'll miss Katia. I loved to watch her work the runway. She was goooood. The elimination of the models seems so haphazard and sorta unfair... especially when the dreaded black velvet bag is involved. It's fun to see the models wield some power. Like in the Wedding Dress challenge in the 1st season. That's definitely something to keep for season 4.

Oh...Please forgive me for calling Jeffery Keith in my earlier post. Oops! I'm sure y'all translated my little synapse misfire. Mea culpa.

Ok, Laura is the best. Her mouth, that is. She nails the jerks (Jeffrey, Keith) and sees through the BS. Her designs are fine but not yet really amazing. But she displays a maturity and depth of character that is beautiful. Her relationship with Michael is so cool and she even managed to inspire Angela to something higher. Laura is the Earth Mother of this season's designers; she sees it, she says it and usually with the mouth of a sailor. Right on.

I thought his dress looked like a big log too... but not a wood one! I'm also laying money on Vincent crying a big river or having a complete mental breakdown when he leaves... probably this week. Like everyone else, I was so pleased for Michael! Poor Bradley, even had he not designed such a terrible outfit this past week, his lack of confidence would have knocked him out of the cometition sooner or later. Vincent's outfit was (as usual) simply awful--the model looked like she was ready for the Scottish games in her plaid toga. Also, Jeffrey is awful. He thinks Laura is a terrible person because she's "mean"? And yet he calls her names and says he hopes she has a stroke and dies? MIddle-aged men shouldn't insult people like grade-schoolers. Also: someone needs to tell him that his tats make his neck look wider than his little head. Wait, I just did.

I was thrilled to see Tim talking to Michael in the workroom. As soon as I saw that I knew Michael would finally be in the top three where he belongs. Michael has made consistently beautiful garments and presents himself as a professional. His early garments were all deserving of at least a top three spot if not a win. Yet he got no such recognition till episode 5. Professional that he is he never once had a I-can't-believe-how-stupid-the-judges-are tantrum like Santino and Keith repeatedly had each time they didn't win. Keith on the other hand was incredulous and ill-mannered when Angela won the Macy's challenge. He acts like a 12 year old. Michael acts like a grown-up.

I wish Vincent and Bradley had never been selected for PR. They are taking up two spots far more deserving designers could have had.

Having read a good many of the comments I'm evidently the only person that hated Kayne's Marilyn dress. Black leather? Stretchy black mesh that made the model's behind look lumpy? I could see Marilyn Manson's girlfriend wearing it but not Marilyn Monroe.

My hope for final four would be Michael, Laura, Uli, and Alison. The other designers are inconsistent at best and Vincent at worst. I loved Kayne's Miss Universe dress but in the icon challenge he would have been much better suited to designing for Cher than Marilyn. And him talking smack about his model was hard to take considering how much he talks and talks and talks himself.

I'd like to take the time to say goodbye to Vincent now so I'm not bothered by it next week (fingers crossed). He should have been done when he sent that space cadet down the runway in the first challenge.
I think Laura and Michael (Knight) should go into business together after the show. They compliment eachother well.
And Michael- such lovely work and what a dear person. I'm a fan.
I absolutely love this show. Carry on...

Indeed! Michael has steadily and stealthily been working his brand of magic since the beginning of the show. It's clothing designed for an older sophisticated woman and let's face it, Kors isn't going to give up that crown easily. :)

And what was with Bradley? Come on Bravo, stop trolling for talent at the mental institutions of America. I expected him to go insane from lack of sleep and murder someone in his sleep. Perhaps his insomnia and a pair of scissors explain Kayne's hair. Speaking of Kayne, indeed he had a GREAT dress and should have definitely been in the top two. But what was with the love handles on his model? I thought she had two nude fanny packs attached to her dress. Too tight Kayne, much too tight. He needs to do some simple pieces that show he can be commerically appealing to more than just beauty queens.

And lastly, Vincent... It's like Woody Allen's sexually and career confused cousin was released from yet another mental institution, one where they only suscribed to Harper's Bazar or Mirabella , with a sketch pad some pens and a straight jacket. Time to call the wagon and boot him. I know characters are what they're looking for on this show, but I guess auditions this past season were just chocked full of people just trying to get on tv. Sigh. Let's tighten up the process next season please... So basically Timk, make it work. :)
