I thought I'd take some time, while the show is a repeat, to answer some of the mail I've been getting...

Todd -- who makes that long-sleeve striped polo you were wearing in an episode?
It was probably from Penguin.

Can anyone help me find the sweater that Todd wore at the beginning of last week's episode? It would be perfect for my boyfriend's birthday ... it was brown argyle, I think I was Lacoste?
It was Lacoste. It's thin wool and was heavily altered.

What kind of water is Carisa always drinking, or should I say water bottle? I must be slow on the trends these days... I can't seem to find it anywhere!
I saw Courtney Cox with the same bottle on an episode of Dirt!
Love the show, and I am an artist Todd, I will animate you! LOL
I cannot wait for the upcoming shows, I also hope there will be more seasons.

I would have to check to see what you're talking about to be sure, but it's most likely Figi. I think I've seen CC drinking it on Dirt. You can probably find it at drug stores/grocery stores and sometimes at delis or places like Subway. It comes in a square-like plastic bottle.

I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed with the end of last weeks show, why did the judges boot Felicia? Although clearly not her best work, ryan has been on the bottom of almost EVERY challenge! This was her first time and she's off? It really didn't seem fair, was she not controversial enough? Other than that, I'm enjoying the show better than I thought I would...........

I always wanted a room partly designed for my cat. Used to envy the cat furniture and carpeting tiered climbling platforms in Cat Fancy when I was a teenager, but the designed room wasn't the best room for a cat. My cats never would have walked around the top of that room on the ledge. They much preferred my glassware shelves and loved anything with tiers or levels, so one small part of the room was good for the cat. Actually prefer you in the mentor role rather than in the judging role as a friend to the designers.

Todd: where did you find the judges on this show, a cemetary?? Not very bright, plastic looking (who's the woman with the crimped hair and so much botox it's hard to tell if she is breathing???), and really rather geeky? And PLEASE, I have one bit of style advice for you and Jonathan: socks. Really, guys, the no-sock thing for men was over about 3 yrs ago and now you both just look silly. O yeah, and dump the kid in the glasses; he's just not that talented and certainly not great TV.

So far my take on the show is this...show itself is good, the lady from Elle Decor is a bit of a downer and you Todd, have the kindest most lovely persononality. You remind me of my favorite art teacher in college.

I like the kindness in your treatment of the designers and your constructive criticism. Mature, civilized behavior is a pleasant switch from the vulgar cruelty one sees on other reality shows.

Todd,
How do you feel about one-of-a-kind furniture, lighting and sculpture created by artists and craftspersons being inncorporated into a space?
I seem to see the same mass produced stuff used everywhere which tends to burn it out or date it as trendy.
What about custom designed lighting made for the client and space??

Hi Todd,
I became a fan of yours when I saw your line in Target. I am also a big fan of the show. I know that you probably are doing okay, nawww, you are doing very well in the finance department. I just have one comment and suggestion. When people to face to face, one can't help but to look at the other person they are speaking to mouth. I say that to say this; have you consider getting braces? They have all kinds nowadays; silver, ceramic, invisalign and even the kind that goes behind your teeth. Its speaks volume to have a great teeth. Just a suggestion; I am not being ugly.
Your fan.

Todd, i think you have such compassion for people, and it shows when you speak. I'm a very possitive person, and i'm very passionate, and sensitive. I know when you are famous, extremely busy, and passionate about your work. Sometimes people don't understand that, or it gets to your head. I love that it hasn't for you, and i love the fact that you show such interest and willingness to help and be down to earth, i love that. I'm a very attractive, strong woman...and when i'm out, men and women get intimidated, or they judge. And that bothers me the most. Cause i think i'm the most down to earth and caring person. I love to make people laugh and smile, and i think you present yourself very well, and i admire you for that. Keep it up.

Todd,
I really haven't read blogs or whatever they are called until Top Designer. (Comments?!) I am more interested in your design work than your clothes or teeth! I would like to see you extend your comments to the decorators. You are kind and generous but a hint of your real critique would be interesting. Perhaps your role is that of mentor and the judges are the critics? I think your talent being lost/wasted.

Hi Todd,
I imagine you have dealt with people and their tired opinions long enough to know there is nothing wrong with your looks! Why should you change anything to please people who are hung up on conformity to the artificial expectation of beauty? Whether In the arts or in people there is no real beauty unless the familiar converges with the irregular and unexpected. Your features are distinctively you and I know you have probably put up with comments like these long enough to blow them off, so don’t have to tell you that. My comment is for the people who think their critical opinion is so important you’re going to run off and get your teeth fixed!
If something is flawed it is people who are looking for what they consider deficient in others. It’s ugly, and narcissistic. People who are stuck on some minor aspect of your looks might want to give a little more attention to their inner beauty. I am glad to see a real human being in a host role, someone with talent and humanity, not plastic surgery beautiful. I like you, and think each designer who gets cheered on by you is leaving with a gift!
P.S. Would it be interesting to do a show with talented people who have no design school training? I know there are some amazing talents out there.
Sincerely, Kita
