So...remember how Joan Rivers essentially snubbed Paula on the Grammy red carpet last episode? Well, eat this Joan! Paula received the Fashion Icon Award from the Young Menswear Association Fashion Scholarship Fund for Parson School of Design presented by Mr. Fashion himself, Tim Gunn!

Paula arrived fashionably late, of course, but it was all good, as the audience loved her, as did Mr. Gunn. Part of the reason she was late was yet another reason why Paula endears herself to me, and so many others: she was stopping to talk to her fans on the way in. I love that she gives us her time, even when she doesn’t have it.

After the event, Paula -- who is dead tired -- wants to make a late night run to the Starbucks...but, quite frankly, she needs to get to bed!! And that particular night, I wish she had, as the next day was the infamous D-day (D for what the media erroneously called “drunk”). Her awkward interviews were plastered all over the TV and on Youtube. I have to hand it to Paula for allowing this footage to be shown again, because I would’ve wanted it to be hidden and quickly forgotten about. But, if she is to clear her name and show what was really going on, it is necessary.
