Now, I know that these episodes were filmed months ago, and I would assume that it takes more than a week to edit them, but it seems like the producers of “Hey Paula” read my blog from last week and answered my wish to see what Paula does for fun…sort of.
Paula tells us that she is so busy working, but she wants time to hang out with her friends, Jill and Karen, and that’s exactly what I wanted to see and hear! Paula needs some time for herself, but it’s too bad she didn’t leave that damn cell phone at home (and I only say that as one of my friends is just like that, glued to her phone). The girls are going to an Oscar Gifting party, which should be a fun thing, and for the most part, it looks like fun, but Paula is constantly getting business phone calls, so many that voicemails start to pile up while she is on the phone.
Meanwhile, her BFF Daniel is back at the homestead, taking care of the designer that has come in to decorate the rental house Paula is going to live in for a couple months while her own house is being renovated. He meets with Designer Debra at the unfinished rental house to go over design ideas. She presents him with her portfolio and he tells her that she has exactly the right idea. The only problem is, she doesn’t. I’m sorry, but shouldn’t Paula’s best friend in the world know exactly what she would want? The episode was set up to seem as though everything would work out according to Paula’s desires, but looking at the choices in furniture and such I kept thinking, “this doesn’t look ANYTHING like my Paula’s own house.” Debra’s designs were all really mellow with mainly cool colors, whereas Paula’s house is warm colors with rich textures. But then again, Debra didn’t have the benefit of having seen Paula’s house before and Daniel is the same person who thought Paula’s short blonde hair circa 2004 looked good.

Paula just lost a fan here with her diva like behavior toward the designer. If the house was that darn important to her she should have scheduled in the time to meet with the designer. I am sure editing had something to do with it but I personally think she was extremely rude to the designer. If she gave Daniel total control then she should have not been so harsh with the designer and saved that anger for him. I thought the house was great even if it wasn't her vision and couldn't she have just sucked it up and put up with it if it was only for a few months. Her attitude was totally disgusting and I will not be watching any more episodes to view more of this kooky chick!

I just find this show really sad. Paula seems so out of it. Out of touch and almost abusive to her friends. Hopefully bravo will make better programming decisions in the future

Lisa, Paula probably spent close to $100,000 having that house decorated. Do you really think she should just suck it up. When you go to a resturant and order lobster and they bring you salad do you suck it up? That designer had access to Paula's home and taste, she could have done her job right.

That's just it: Abdul DID schedule time with the designer. The designer was there, Abdul couldn't be bothered. TWICE!
Business calls? Most of those calls were her "best friend" wondering when she was going to get her bum over to the meeting that she, herself, had scheduled.
And you heard the designer say, "I talked to everyone on your staff but you!" but "the Gift" totally ignored this and talked right over her.
This was without question the most appalling behaviour Abdul has exhibited yet.

I love Paula and she has proven to me over and over again why I love her so. She's the best. And people do treat her as a celebrity and not a professional woman which she is.

I am a huge Paula fan, and I am so thrilled that Bravo took on this show! I am truly astonished by any negative comments that I've read about the show! I think that Paula is talented, a smart business woman, and I love watching her in her world! I think it's very important that they showed her bad press interviews so that people can see that she WASN'T drunk, but very tired from suffering from insomnia, I love the way she interacts with her fans, and I find it hard to belive she gets so much slack for telling her assistants that they should have brought her sweats to sleep on a flight! Any person in the world who has an assistant pack clothes for them would expect comfy clothes, not the tightest fiiting pants you own! I do sympathize with her frustration about getting Daniel and Billy? to New York to prepare her for the Letterman show, I understand her sorrow in her job with the Bratz film dissolving. All I'm realizing is that there are alot of people (reviewers, bloggers) who don't understand what it's like to be Paula and the stress that that can be for her and that there are many very unsympathetic, mean spirited people who think it's okay to hate on her because she is successful and beautiful and famous and it angers me that she is getting so much slack because of this show.I love that Bravo is showing her in real life moments that are not always sweet, like many see her on AI, and I love seeing her challenges and what she's endured in her past, spinal surgeries, car accidents, she IS a survivor and warrior and many people choose to be hateful and absent minded about where she has been and where she is today. I hope to see future seasons and more episodes in the future that show her rested, well fed, recording music in a recording studio, hanging with friends and family without business calls, and her being happy and not upset about bad things that have happend. Of course that might be boring and not enough "drama" for people to want to turn in for, so instead you kept in the drama and have people thinking she's spoiled, crazy, etc.I think that for people who like to hate, it is a very narrow portrait of her whole self that is easy to criticise although you and I do the same things without a camera capturing it all.

I have been a Paula fan since the debut period of her Forever Your Girl Album back in the late 1980s. I was just a kid then, but I have always been a HUGE fan of hers, and I'm so happy to see that she keeps having renewed success with all of her many projects. I know the media is always looking at something to pick at someone famous for, but ya know, Paula can do no wrong in my eyes. I think she is amazing, and the show Hey Paula just showed a more intimate and personal side of her world. I've had 3 dear friends that have met her and they all say the same thing, she is the nicest and most sincere human being they have ever met. And I truly believe that, and believe in her! Paula, you just keep being yourself, in a world of negativity it's great to have warmth and love the way you do! Love Always!

Paula lost my support too. The way she treated the interior designer was so ugly. Obviously, Paula thinks she's better than everyone else because she completely wasted the designers time and effort. Paula couldn't show up for the appointment, never met with her to talk about what she wanted, and then has the nerve to tell the designer she has to start over, again without providing her any direction. I thought Paula was sweet and filled with gratitude for the chance American Idol gave her. Instead, we find out she's incredibly selfish and believes no one "appreciates the gift she is." She is more than a liar (Bratz firing). She is a lie.
