Episode 107

SIGH. So, I remember when I first heard about “Hey Paula” a couple months ago. I had heard it was only going to be seven episodes, but I didn’t think they really meant it… apparently, it is so, as tonight’s episode was the seventh and final episode of the season (and possibly the series, God forbid). I WANT MORE!!! But, it was an EXCELLENT episode, in fact, my favorite out of all of them.

This week, we begin with an announcer telling us that we’re going to see some rare, never-before-seen moments from Paula’s life, but before that, we see some highlights from the season (if we can call seven episodes a “season”). We get to relive the tight pants incident with the assistants, the almost non-arrival of Daniel in NYC, and worst of all, that stupid “beetch” reporter wondering if Paula was drunk when they were speaking. Once again, I think Paula needs to strangle her with that cool skull scarf she was wearing a couple episodes back. But once the highlights are over, we get to the good stuff.

This is my favorite episode!!! I loved seeing Paula with her family at her birthday party that her boyfriend threw for her her at one of the restaurants he owns! I loved seeing Paula meet with a music producer to talk about working together again! I loved seeing her interact with dancers what she's most known for! These are all of the things on a list I would have hoped to see in watching a reality show on my favorite celebrity Paula Abdul! You see her happy in this episode and that is wonderful to watch! Daniel said really nice things about her and how lucky you are to get to know her because she's so wonderful! Since I'll probably never be in her inner clique, I really appreciate having the show to get to see what her and her life are like. I can appreciate the drama that was showcased in earlier episodes, but I never once thought that it made Paula look bad, or lessened my love for her, and I can appreciate that she is confident enough to show the bad times! I'm very sad that this show is over and I really wish that there are future seasons of it where I can see her spend more time recording music, choreagraphing, spending time with her family, and hot boyfriend!

This is the Hey Paula Bravo should have been making all along.
I'm not sure why the waisted so much of the season catering to the "let's hate on Paula" crowd, do you think they were the ones counting down the days to her show. No it was her fans. So thanks a lot Bravo, you suck. lol

Sorry, but I don't think Bravo is to blame for making Paula look bad. Did Bravo make Paula cry on camera, repeatedly? Or did they make her chew out people, repeatedly? And if they did, why was Paula foolish enough to do these things? Paula knew what was going to be shown and obviously approved it, because she did the voice overs and commentaries to coincide with the footage we were seeing. It would seem that after viewing it, Paula decided she had better have some positive footage. Hence the "surprise" birthday party shot just before the series aired. I think what a lot of folks can't face is that the sweet Paula is the fabrication for the camera and behind the scenes, she is anything but sweet.

This last episode should be titled DAMAGE CONTROL. But sadly, too little too late I'm afraid.

Way to go, Dave!! Sorry your gig (and your favorite show) didn't last longer, but what fun to have had it at all! Well written, and well recieved. Paula must adore you! xo

Thank you all for your comments! I agree totally that this is what the show should've been all along and in the off chance the show comes back I hope the read the comments here and go along with that.

And, Debi, thanks for the consoling...it's been a major bummer not having my weekly Paula fix.

I loved Paula as much as the next teenage girl back in the day. However, when I saw this show I thought that "This girl has issues." I was sooo disappointed to see that she was yelling at her assistants for something that was completely so in significant. She, to me, epitomized what a chronic pain patient is going through and how their medication makes them react. I have worksed with a major celebrity and witnessed this kind of verbal abuse. They think they are in the right, when they are soooo in the wrong. The people working with her all but try to be the best while also meeting her demands . I was embarrassed to see this side of her and am, actually no longer a fan of hers after seeing her behavior on this show. It is truly sad. I hope she finds relief from her CRPS/chronic pain and is able to control her medication in a better manner.

I AM SO MAD i never saw any of those episodes I have been a faithful paula abdul fan for over 15 years not because of american idol just because of her she is my idol and has been for over 15 years. I was so glad because I could finally see how she finally is in her day to day life since I know all there is to know about the celebrity self. The city I live in stoped the show after like 4 shows. So when can I see all the rest. I have been watching bravo for weeks for reruns when sould I watch? She has and always will be my american idol and I feel cheated. If anyone deseves to see this show it is me. I watched the episode when she meet that little girl outside of jay leno and broke down that was me over 15 years ago at her concert here which just so happened to be on my birthday. I would love to see a marathon or do you think I can buy all the episodes?

Granted, it may have caused a lot of controversy, but I honestly think Paula did a wonderful job with her own reality TV show, and I think if Bravo were smart, they would can Tim Gunn (totaly boring) and bring us another season of Hey Paula!
