This week, we begin with an announcer telling us that we’re going to see some rare, never-before-seen moments from Paula’s life, but before that, we see some highlights from the season (if we can call seven episodes a “season”). We get to relive the tight pants incident with the assistants, the almost non-arrival of Daniel in NYC, and worst of all, that stupid “beetch” reporter wondering if Paula was drunk when they were speaking. Once again, I think Paula needs to strangle her with that cool...]]>
Paula tells us that she is so busy working, but she wants time to hang out with her friends, Jill and Karen, and that’s exactly what I wanted to see and hear! Paula needs some time for herself, but it’s too bad she didn’t leave that damn cell phone at home (and I only say that as one of my friends is just like that, glued to her phone). The girls are going to an Oscar Gifting party, which should be a fun thing, and for the most part, it looks like fun, but Paula is constantly getting business phone calls, so many that voicemails start to pile...]]>
After last week’s QVC appearance, Paula and the gang went back to the hotel, where they learn they cannot leave for NYC because of the snow. Somewhere along the way, Paula has managed to buy some beef jerky that looks exactly like a serious pile of greasy dog poop! In fact, I really thought it was when I first saw it, and I was wondering why in the world the cameras would capture that!! Yes, they did show the “landmines” that Paula’s puppies did in the first episode, but those were not as shiny and gross as this jerky was. Paula decides she is going to have a little fun with her food, and slips it into Assistant Jennifer’s bed. She goes about her business, acting like she is going to bed…only to stay outside the door with the cameras....]]>
In this episode, Paula is hosting a benefit for In Defense of Animals (IDA), an organization that helps animals who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. IDA couldn’t have chosen a better host than Paula, as she is the owner of five cute puppies herself, and for as long as I can remember, has always had dogs. But in true Paula fashion: she’s late! This time, it’s because the taping of “American Idol” went an hour over. What can...]]>
SIGH! It’s hard to watch Paula cry when it’s not for a beautiful song that an Idol has just sung. This time, it’s because she really is upset...and that makes me upset. She needed a big hug from someone, but that wasn’t happening. The episode starts off with a meeting of her “people”, and Publicist Jeff talks about how to deal with the “[crap] sandwich” Paula has found herself in. I do have to give it to Jeff for coming up with the best idea, which is for Paula to keep all her appearance commitments, and to confront the accusations directly. Having followed Paula’s career since her first album came out, I know that there have been times when things got rough, and that...]]>
Paula arrived fashionably late, of course, but it was all good, as the audience loved her, as did Mr. Gunn. Part of the reason she was late was yet another reason why Paula endears herself to me, and so many others: she was stopping to talk to her fans on the way in. I love that she gives us her time, even when she doesn’t have it.
After the event, Paula -- who is dead tired -- wants to make a late night run to the Starbucks...but, quite frankly, she needs to get to bed!! And that particular night, I wish she had, as the next day was the infamous D-day (D for what the media...]]>
In this first episode, we get to see Paula readying herself for the Grammys, and a great insight into Paula’s views about herself. Although I’ve known for years that Paula has a great sense of humor, it seemed to shine through even more tonight, especially with the self-deprecating comments about how long it’s been since she’s had a hit record. I’ve always worried that all the bad vibes that people spread about Paula might get back to her, but she showed that she knows what’s up, and frankly doesn’t care! I also was pleasantly surprised by Paula joking around...]]>
