It’s vacation season, so you should know that having a one-night stand is a vacation must for many people. It may be that you know you won’t see the person, ever, where you live, or maybe that salty air got you crazy. Whatever the reason, people are more open to it when they are away.
According to Match.com's annual Singles In America survey, 20 percent of people in their 20’s and 30’s have had a vacation one-night stand. Over 5,000 people based in the U.S. were surveyed.
Interestingly, the number increases as we get older: 23 percent of single 30-somethings have had one-night sex on vacay. For singles in their 40s and 50s, 40 percent are hooking up for the night.
Politics played a role in the survey, too. Those who identified as libertarians were twice as likely to have a one-night stand on a trip. Those who said they were conservative Republicans were not as open to it.
What city the singles were from also mattered. People surveyed in San Francisco, CA., and San Antonio, TX., said they were very open to the idea of a one-night stand while traveling. The cities that closely followed with sexy travelers were Seattle, Phoenix, and Denver.
