A Love Letter to Cynthia Bailey's Many Hairstyles

Simply put, strands: you've cast a spell on us.

Dear Cynthia Bailey

To say you're fabulous at 50 in an understatement, and we could list at least 50 reasons that we're grateful for your existence every day. But, if you don't mind, we'd like a moment alone with your hair.

You see, we've been silently watching its every move — from its mesmerizing color changes, to its constantly morphing shapes — for years now. And, well, we've never had a chance to fully express our admiration. So, if you don't mind, we'd like to open our hearts now, and speak to a force of beauty that has always inspired us.

Dear Cynthia Bailey's Hair:

You don't know us, but we certainly know you. Not to sound stalker-ish, but we can't help but keep a close, besotted eye on you as you constantly push boundaries, becoming more beautiful at every turn. Let's face it: Even when you're dressed down, just hanging long and loose, you are golden.

You look completely fierce when you decide to wear red.

And when you twist yourself up into intricate braids, well, we can only marvel at your beauty.

There are times when you curl up into lush, bouncy blonde curls that have us grabbing for our own curling iron. (Confession: our style never comes out as spot-on as yours.)

In your curly state, you somehow morph effortlessly from daytime chic to red carpet ready, and we can't help but marvel. Sure, a little cat-eye liner and red lipstick helps, but you're the real star of this evening look.

Are you feeling yourself yet? Because those styles alone are worth a hair Oscar (you know, if one existed). But, when you're pulled back into updos, things get even more glorious.

Quick question: how do you manage to form a ponytail that's this sleek and chic? Does Cynthia use oodles of hairspray? A thousand bobby pins? Or were you just born that way?

And when you try out a bun, you don't settle for any ordinary style. Instead, you jazz it up with a glamorous braid.

In short, Cynthia Bailey's hair, you're the Queen Surpreme. And, if it's not too much to ask, we'd love to buy you a shot of top-shelf shampoo sometime.

Till then, just keep doing you. And please accept our thanks for all the joy you've given us.
