Alanis Morissette Gives Birth To Adorable Baby Girl and Her Name Is...

The singer has her second baby at 42 years old.

Alanis Morissette, 42, gave birth to a baby girl, on June 23, she just announced on Instagram.

The Canadian singer showed off a picture of the adorable nugget, revealing the little girl’s name to be Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway.

“She’s here!” the singer captioned the pic, which showed off a portion of the baby’s cute little face. “onyx solace morissette-treadway June 23 2016 #beyondblessed.”

It’s the second baby for Alanis and her husband, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, who share a son named Ever, 5. Alanis had announced she was pregnant with an animated video accompanied by a new song. Cartoon versions of Alanis, Mario, and Ever are a happy family, then at the end they look at a sonogram revealing she is pregnant again.

Alines has written about being a mom, saying in 2011 that she had no idea what to expect—in her poetic way, of course.

“I remain baffled at how little I was prepared for what was to come,” she wrote in an iVillage post. “I had used, as usual, the I'll-rise-to-that-occasion-when-I-get-there approach to the post-child-bearing journey. So all my DVD-watching and focus went toward the birth experience itself, and how to prepare myself for that (as though I really could prepare for a Human. Being. Coming. Out. Of. My. Body). Life literally and figuratively moved through me that morning of Dec. 25. Yet another example of life's unsentimental and ruthless way of shaking me awake to the direct experience of being human. I had no idea the person I'd always dreamed of becoming was being born at the exact same time.”
