It's early in the a.m., and I wake up behind schedule and groggy. I have not slept great in a few weeks and I am officially running on empty and scrambling to split town. The sunrise over this sleeping city is arresting and makes me stop and breathe.  And take a picture for you.

I check my e-mail and there's some stuff about the A-List Awards that wakes me up, and an e-mail from Bravo exec Eli Lehrer saying he is a proud new daddy of baby Jude, who was born just a couple hours ago, after 4 this morning. Life!!! (Need to order a Snoopy for the kid ...) I change my Facebook status because I can think of an "is": Andy is going to LA.

I am trying to cram two weeks of crap into one carry-on and it is not working. And I somehow waited until this morning to decide what I will wear to the A-List Awards so my options seem very poor, outdated, sad, out of season, out of fashion, and just out. Black velvet just doesn't seem viable at 6 a.m. Or in 2009. I ponder changing my status to "Andy is wondering if black velvet is still relevant" but I decide against it. Black velvet will always be relevant.

Andy, If I knew you had a blog, I would have been here sooner. I look forward to seeing you when you do your cast reunion shows. Sometimes you are more enthusiatic than the people you are interviewing.
Keep your spirits up..look forward to reading more about ya. and I am there when Kathy Griffin and Flipping Out returns.
Let me now if and when you are ever Vegas bound.

Hey Andy!!!!

I'm glad that Spring is upon us. A week in Sunny Cali should help. Also, remember that time helps to heel, it does get easier as the hours pass. Thank you for your thoughts (blogs).

Well, Andy... You know what your legion of fans would suggest you wear OR NOT!! *-)

Okay, I'll settle down.

Honey, you could wear an outfit crafted from paper bags and we would still love you. You would be applauded for your chutzpah (sp?).

Safe travels and can't wait to see what you decide on!

Also, congrats on the arrival of baby Jude! How exciting for their family!

Hi Andy!!

Funny you should mention black velvet sportcoats. The
very first jacket I fell in love with was a late-70's
Halston black velvet jacket. Thanks to ebay, I now am
the proud owner of 2 of them.

Is "beautiful dog" an oxymoron??

Is there such a thing as an honest reflection?

A cavity search, from a man you barely know, in a public place? Sounds like a first date to me.

Do toothless men make better lovers?? Think about it.

*I Love Andy!!*

Good Lord, Cohen... that was the most sleep-deprived thing that I've ever read, and I've written research papers in high school and college after being awake for more than 30 straight hours. No one functions well without a proper amount of sleep, not even the great Andy Cohen. I hope you get some rest during your trip because a good night's sleep will re-charge your batteries and make you feel so much better.

Be good to yourself while you're in L.A., and enjoy the weather for those of us who are still in the unyielding clutches of post-winter weather. It's the end of March, and we got a freakin' hailstorm in PA yesterday. Unbelievable.

Hi Andy

I know it is still early days but you sound greatly infused with ennui. I hope the LA trip proves to be a welcomed distraction. When you get there, call Kathy Griffin and take her to dinner in West Hollywood. You two are bound to cause a sensation and that should put a smile on your face. Do something crazy and by the time you come back, New York will be in full Spring Swing. Me? I am going to Mexico till the hyacinths are in bloom.

xoxo

Ps: Ever notice how healthy the New York Housewives look in comparison their OC counterparts? They have shinning hair, clear skin and not a bloodshot kohl-rimmed eye or frosted lip to be found. Oh and don’t get me started on how much better dressed they are. Why did you think that is? Are they shot differently?

Black Velvet in LA Spring? I don't think so. Sorry. Re-think the 'drobe, Andy. (And Alannah Myles sang "Black Velvet.")

Joy brings joy Andy. Do what you please. In fact I think a wise old owl by the name of Melissa Etheridge suggests, "Black Velvet if you please."

I will wear my black velvet if you wear yours.
