Yes, it was sort of sad to see Carla leave. She was a true lady in her comments: very introspective. However, I must disagree with your assessment that it would be hard to see the remaining chefs get eliminated. I could do without "Gasbag Mike" and Ms. Mediocrity, Tiffany depart. They each are annoying (for different reasons). If either of them is crowned the winner, it would be very unsatisfying.

I'm tempted to stop watching the show since they voted Carla out. She brought a great energy and "kindness" to the show. She didn't criticize and trash the other contestants in a way that all the others did. She pitched in and helped the others all the time and supported them when they needed it. She had a calming force on all of the other contestants. It was nice to see someone like her and not some who are/were cut throat. She is all about love and it shows. Although Mike is talented he did steal Richard's recipe - it would be a crime shoudl he win top chef.

I registered today to ask a question about the Top Chef Target episode. (a bit late, I know) Were the propane canisters and camping stoves not available to the chefs?
