When I say that I am verklempt about Tina coming to the Bravo Clubhouse tonight, I am not talking Turner and I don't mean X-Tina and I don't mean Christina Crawford. And, though we have tried many times, I don't think Tina Louise would consider it. What I mean is that the current queen of comedy (sharing the title with Kathy), Tina Fey is going to be live with me tonight at 10.
This came about as a result of my meeting her at the NBC Upfront party the day after I had the Countess singing on the show. She'd seen, and dug it, and said she'd like to come on sometime. We hocked and hocked her people after that until we got her in. She's so cool and funny, and I'm a big fan.
So this morning I was on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, which he's broadcasting from NYC this week. They told me to be there at 8:15, but little did I know we were talking PACIFIC time. So there I was at 8:15, and then again at 11:15. I got a lot of work done in between, at least.
I'd never met Seacrest before and I was struck by what a nice, smart guy he is. I can't believe how much he gets done in a day. He makes me look like I do nothing with my paltry two jobs versus his five. I realized during the convo that I might be the older, low rent, basic cable, gay, salt and pepper version of Seacrest. Or I might not. Anyway I really liked him.
It is tropical and monsoon-y in Manhattan today. If you're thinking of coming into town to see a show or walk around, don't. It feels like there's a riot waiting to happen around every corner. It's weird. Stay away.
I am praying you saw Top Chef: Just Desserts last night. There are so many funny lines and it is so damn gay. And so much drama. Wow. Did I mention that tonight is the big one where the Salahis head to the White House? We are live at 10, right after. See you then!
