OK, before I get to the nonsense, let me remind you that there's a new episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey tonight. And while I'm on the plug-train, what'd you think of Kathy's premiere last night and are you gearing up for the Top Chef Masters premiere?

I had no blog yesterday because I just couldn't. I had NOTHING. I would've said how much fun I'd had at the beach, and that I finally saw Dolly on "60 Minutes" and may the Lord shine on she and Morley Safer. And I missed the Tony's but everybody said it was actually kind of good for the first time maybe ever. And that blog would've bored you and I and so I didn't think twice about just sparing us all.

And Liza diagnosed my condition as "blogger's block." Get it? And what a fitting date for this syndrome to occur, the day of the Webby Awards! This is the awards show honoring the best of the net that's turned into something of an institution over the past few years, drawing huge stars and a fun crowd. It's under the perview of a team led by Rodger Berman, husband of Rachel Zoe. Who'dathunk?

So last night it was Rodger and Rachel welcoming people like Cameron Diaz, Martha Stewart, Lisa Kudrow, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Charlie Rose, and a bunch of hot dudes who work in various aspects of the web who look gay but are very straight and supercute.

The whole shebang took place at Cipriani Wall Street, which was last home to the NYC Housewives Reunion; I had some mild tremors walking into the event. Liza and I were seated at an awesome table with one of the three Twitter founders (I think I'm on the verge of tweeting btw - but that's another blog, or tweet) and his date, Colleen. So Colleen and I are talking about reality TV, of which she is a slave and a fan and scholar, and she finally reveals her secret: that she was a cast member of a popular reality show. It took us about :15 to put the pieces together and realize that we were talking with Survivor Season 1 Superstar Colleen!

Andy-
Given what happened yesterday in DC, aren't you frightened that the shallowness of these OC and NJ characters feeds the belief of the world that we are just a nation of idiots?

The last 10 minutes of D-List - hilarious. The girl that was looking into the camera as Bette was singing Happy Birthday was so hysterical. As Kathy said "she was indeed finding her light". Bravo, Bravo and Kathy G.

Heyyy Andy,

How about having a little lottery for the viewers next time there is a RH reunion show taping? This way some viewers get a chance to sit through the taping, meet the women, ask some questions and maybe even blog about our own experience from viewer to viewer?

If this is a go-ahead, can I be first on the list?

Love you, your blog and denim!
Mmmmmuuuaaahh!

Hello Andy!

I have a question for Danielle (perhaps for the reunion show??) My question is why did she not come clean about her past? Even when Jacqueline wanted to find out the truth, you could tell Danielle wasn't being straight with her. And why was the mug shot picture of her under the name Beverly Merrill? What is she hiding?

Thanks Andy!

Andy,

I just watched Bravo's sneek peak of NYC prep and I was horrified to see children from ages 16 to 18 drinking and talking about alcohol like it was nothing. I know you're a TV exec and ratings are king, but, honestly, you and Bravo should be ashamed. As the employer of these children you (and Bravo) have the responsibility to make sure they are not breaking the law...while the many of your shows straddle the line between classy and trashy, the preview for NYC prep takes the cake. I hope officials in NYC take appropiate action against your network and the restaurants involved for the clear violations of child welfare laws.

Andy,
PLEASE do whatever needs to be done to get Jeana back on RHofOC!! I am begging you...that show will be nothing w/out her. She is the glue that holds those crazy b's together. OC without Jeana is OC w/out me.

Andy,
HOw could you not know Coleen,- she was also in a movie and several commercials. She was so adorable and nice.
Probably the last nice person on reality TV since they are are horribly nasty, (except Jacq. on HWONJ)
Kathy's show was good season 1 and 2 but it is now so staged and scripted.
NO longer d-list girl the show has lost it's appeal and not at all funny. I felt sorry for Bette Midler to be stuck with Kathy for the day.
Kathy may have appeal to a certain demographic but not much universal appeal and that won't keep her going.

I think poster "Lisa" is on to something...

I too have noticed that this blog is relatively mute on Kathy Griffin....who is just terrific, scripted or not. Precious little on BravoTV.com, if any.

And...when I saw the broadcast of her Chicago live show (and again the recent re-broadcast), Kathy rips off a great line - cut to audience laughing wildly - and 3 people in from the aisle amidst hilarity sits an unamused Andy Cohen. Check it out people...the camera doesn't lie.

Whats up Andy? No love for Griffin?

Agree with Joseph about D-List being staged and gimmicky. The production and set-up are obvious and ooze un-real "reality". Still love Kathy and her mom!

So excited you are considering Twitter! It's win-win-win for you, Bravo and your fans since you can link back to the site/your blog.

Andy,
I thought Kathy and Bette looked absolutely beautiful in this premier episode!

KATHY's show was too staged! Too scripted! Gimmicks with Bette, gimmicks at the Holiday Inn. Yuck. And next week, she's with Lily Tomlin - I also saw clips with other celebs upcoming including Gloria Estefan...?! If Kathy wants to host a celebrity interview talk show, do it. Don't do it under the guise of her once-real reality show.

To Lisa who asks Andy to respond- I think the best way to get him to respond in his videos is to send an email and put the subject as Viewer Mail. I don't think he responds to these comments on here.

Ok, what's the story behind the story. NO mention of Kathy Griffin, no Kathy bravo blog, no assistant blogs. Do they hate Bravotv. You never mention her and you love to talk about your "reality" connections....so I sense there is more to this story. Please share in your next video blog.

I was laughing so hard last night when Kathy was talking to Bette Midler's personal chef in French! Bette's reaction was absolutely priceless. I have loved the past four seasons of "My Life on the D-List," but season five might be the best one yet. What a great way to start a big premiere week on Bravo. I'm still really excited for "Top Chef: Masters" because I'm curious to see how the well established chefs will perform on the other side of the judges' table. Can't wait.

After a miserable weekend..the clouds moved away and I was treated to the first episode of this season's Life on the D-List..Thank God that the HD feed in Vegas is on East Coast Time!!! It was great to see Kathy hang with the divine Miss M..two broads talking shop and such. It was just the tonic I needed. Kudos to my red headed wonder and her Team Griffin (Sorry to hear about Jessica..any opening's ). I am glad she is back..and I enjoyed the lost footage too..

Ahh...to be Andy Cohen for a day! Reading your daily blog is an escape to a hilarious, excitement-rich, glamorous place and not to mention great cab & mass transit stories! Are the Webby's aired anywhere by chance? Happy Tuesday!
