Congratulations to our new Top Chef! I am not writing his name because I know my sister hasn't seen it yet and if she reads the name, then I have ruined it. On the other hand, I should be rewarding people who watched it live -- as it is meant to be seen. Well this is a dilemna that won't be solved right now. Tom's blog today is really good, and he explains what it came down to (simply, the best meal of the night.) One of our goals when casting this season was to create a talent pool even enough that it not ever be obvious who was going to win; I think that made things interesting up to the end. There's much to talk about at next week's reunion, I'll tell you that. And I am really hoping you saw Top Chef Just Desserts because that is nothing but fun. And drama. And gay. And sweet, sweet food. And speaking of sweet gay drama, I hope you'll join me tonight live in the Clubhouse at 10 p.m. EST (right after DC) for our Two Cats in a Bag Spectacular featuring Ramona and Cat. Can you imagine those two ladies in the same room? I am intrigued. Last night was a Manhattan whirlwind that started at De Santos on West 10th Street for a dinner thrown by Details magazine honoring coverboy (and fellow St. Louisan) Jon Hamm. It was a lot of funnypeeps like Bill Hader and Jack McBreyer and maybe my FAVE funnylady Kristin Wiig (we went deep about NJ reunion), and a lot of happening fashion folks like Thom Browne, and imagine my glee when lo and behold the lady of the night Miss Padma Lakshmi arrived. I didn't know she'd be there and it seemed fitting given that it was Top Chef day all around. From the dinner, I headed to Craft for a big finale party thrown by the Singapore Tourism Bureau and Food & Wine magazine. It was a love-fest for the show and for Gail, who had herself a big night. The whole crew was there, from Top Chef Masters winner Marcus Samuelson to Eric Ripert and Tom and Pads and Ed and on and on.... It was a great celebration. And from there It was the opening of Bedlam on Avenue C. This is an awesome new bar that my buddy opened. I loved it! He made a deal with me that he'll let me dj one night (I am being serious), so I'll let you know when that's going to happen because it actually might be fun. It actually WILL be fun. This morning I was on The Wendy Williams Show and had a blast with that lady! Is she Jewish, by the way? She could be. I love her. OK I am heading to see Isaac Mizrahi's fashion show, which will definitely be an event. See you live at 10!
andy i am still laughing at your comment about the lady pond the other night. you ask the questions that your viewers are dying to know about these women. I have to ask, if you ever find an op to interview Oprah will you promise to ask her if she has ever swam in the lady pond? I think it is so endearing when you ask these women this question. I am not sure too many people could ask that question as nice as you do. But what do you think Oprah's response would be? a. She would look into the camera and say, YOUR ALL GOING HOME WITH YOUR VERY OWN POND!!!!! b. Stalk off the show, but not before she takes one of the cans off the shelf behind you and slams it in your head. or c. Tries to turn the interview around to dodge the question, by asking if you have ever met Nate Berkus?
Andy several things, first, I have a suggestion for a spin off show for the Housewives...how about a show big brother/real world style, with 2 of the houswives from each show..put them in a house and have challenges for them to work on....I guess it could be apprentice style, but they would have to show how well they can work together..... but don't choose housewives that have had a good rapport with one another....for instance...I wonder how Jill and Bethenny could work together on a goal....you get the idea....maybe they could do benefits and such to donate to a charity.... Second...I couldn't have been more surprised when you had Cat and Ramona on the show the other night...these two women are nothing alike....they might both be outspoken, but I see Ramona being able to edit her thoughts a bit more....also, when you asked Cat if she ever swam in the Lady Pond, I thought Ramona was gonna hurl, either her dinner or her chair at someone...I don't think Ramona is as open about intimate things like that...I had the distinct feeling all the way in tv land that Ramona was really feeling uncomfortable with Cat there.....and didn't feel that they had a lot of things in common regarding their personality...I believe Ramona is more frisky but Cat is more hissy...as in a hisssssss....women can tell these things Andy..Also just one last thought..about the DC housewives....uh...why is Stacy's husband Jason in the shows so much? He is in there more than Lynda is...also, what kind of guy patents a machine to measure the mass and circumference of the male appendage? i'm like whaaaaaaaaat? So is that why he has so much time on his hands and can be in every episode of the show? Not much demand for that kind of device due to deflation, I mean inflation? and the average guy can't afford for a machine to assure him of his manhood? I don't get it...not obsessed with this machine...
I hate to say it but all the HW series are a guilty pleasure I indulge in. Last season, in particular the HWONJ, the episodes were not engaging and I thouht much ado about nothing. Most of the episodes did not hold my attention because they were just way over the top. The women in my life do not act like that toward women they consider a friend. These are acquaintances at best. I was really disappointed with the focus on Danielle for much of this season, she is obviously a very tortured woman, with a hole in her soul. She has exposed her daughters to some very intimate details and adult discussions. She is sick and needs counseling. I am surprised no one has held an intervention on her. I hope that she does not come back, these woman obviously dislike her intensely and there is really no reason for any of them to be in contact with Danielle. After this last season , how could Danielle possible redeem herself? I like Caroline a great deal, she is one that has common sense. Please do not let either Kim's on the show. They were just two faced and it was pretty pathetic. I hope that Danielle leaves and that next season, the show will raise it's standards. It is possible to have an interesting show without all the "stupid" drama. Some of this behavior you would expect from grade schoolers, not grown women. Andy I do like you, you do ask tough questions and attempt to draw out the motives behind the behavior. I have to ask, did Theresa, Jacquelyn and Danielle hav Prozac between commercial breaks. Their attitudes did a 360 toward the end of Part 2. My reaction was similiar to Caroline's who obviously was surprised at the sudden temperature change. I thought for a moment that they were going to sing "Kumbaya, My Lord". That was insincere and staged to say the least. To Danielle, I would say get help, grow up and realize that if people don't like you -you can't make them. If they don't invite you to a party ---get over it. They probably will never like you no matter what you do. To first have friends you must show yourself friendly. Caio!
Andy- I agree with Bellisome, I love you! You should have your own reality show; dating show perhaps??
And OliveAnn, yes, totally agree that the wedding planner for Bethenney should have his own show. He was amazing....
Danielle?? No way!! One of Bravo's biggest fans and if she comes on, i will honestly boycott!!!!
Heard Danielle Staub might get her own show. PLEASE NO! She thinks that all of the attention is because people like her. I understand it's hard to look away from a train wreck. For the sake of her children let's please show some restraint.
Andy please tell me that violent train wreck Teresa is leaving the show!!!! Daneille is a mess but Teresa is a danger to everyone that has a different opinon then her. Law suit waiting to happen! I am no longer watching NJHW as long as she is on it. He self entitlement doesn't need an audience but counseling!
Andy, you're are a fantastic TV personality! Love your WWHL! Nevertheless, HOW, OH DEAR SIR, HOW are we going to learn how Bethenny, Jason and Bryn are doing?????? I feel like I've lost my favorite niece!!!! Help!!! What to do, what to do!!!
P.S. Can it be true that Danielle Staub has TWO spin off shows???? Hurl, gag, cough, hurl, gag, wipe away tears, cough....
Hey Party Boy, Did you film any of your night on the town? I agree more Bethenny and her wedding planner. I think the wedding planner should have his own show - right now his name escapes me. What about Chef Academy - I really liked the show - bring it back. Bravo TV has so many winners now - I am still a TC Fan forever, yet really enjoy many of your other shows. Thank you, OliveAnne FloridaFan
Kate Gosselin does NOT need another man. She had a man, and a boatload of kids, and she screwed that up. She should be celibate 4-ever.
Andy, I love the housewives series. However I think they need to be revamped. The following "housewives" should not be offered contracts: Vicki- OC, Jill and Kelly-NY, Danielle and Teresa NJ, Nene and Kim ATL Create a new show entitle it "The Real Housewives Who Overstayed Their Welcome.
Andy, you were wrong I think...the other night on What Happens Live! you said that Ebong won the votes for the most handsome DC husband....wasn't it Jason (Stacie's husband) that won. Not that Ebong isn't handsome but Jason is a lot cuter - especially when he smiles!!!!
Andy I love you!!! You are awesome! I will be first in line to audition when you decided to do Real Housewives of Missouri ( I am a teacher- so it is ALL real!). I also have a brother in law I would love to hook you up with! I absolutely adore you!
I had the best laughs last night with you, Ramona and Cat, the perfect pairing! It was an awesome show and I adore you, Andy! "Ramotional" is my new adjective!
Andy, I think you are a genious with this housewives things, but I must say that the D.C. version is a let down. I just don't think they are up to par with the other versions. I am looking forward to Beverly Hills. Just my opinion. Mazel...
Andy, I don't know how many female fans you have, but I'm definitely one of them! You are so incredibly adorable, smart, and a cutie-patoot!!
Hi Andy, I've got a great idea, how about filming and making "The Real Housewives of Santa Fe, New Mexico". I know lots of interesting women and may I say I've got enough material with my life alone.
Look forward to your response, Email me and then I can give you my cellphone and lets talk shop and get this project running on it's wheels.
I did see you on Wendy's show, I hope you do the favor and have her on your show. By the way loved the socks!! It must be like not wearing white after labor day, you start wearing socks after labor day!!
NJ Housewives - what a trainwreck! The whole group should be canned. They all have their moments of giving the entire state a bad name!
Andy - You are great! While watching the show last night with Cat and Ramona, I noticed that Cat pulled a "Sharon Stone" for the camera! Did anyone else catch hat?! OMG......
Andy, Great WWHL tonight! I loved Cat. I didn't think I liked her at the start of the series. She can be crass but she was great on your show. Ramona what can I say she's the best. My point, once again, the show is too short. You have taken the time to have great guests and then you have to rush through them. Think about an hour Bravo. You show, the shows, a couple of times anyway. Why not eek out an hour for this cutting edge show.
Hi Andy, you are too funny! Two things 1) What's with the Child Craft books on the shelf? I haven't seen those since my 19 year old was about seven LOL 2) You goofed tonite the winner for sexiest male in HWDC was Jason Stacie's husband, don't make me get Regina King on you...LOL Smooches
Andy, love ya! I have to say that I would be exhausted doing that many parties in one night. Please don't burn yourself out. We need you and so does Bravo.
Hey Andy Kate Gosselin needs you and Patti Stanger to hook her up. That could be a show on its own!!! If nothing else you know people will watch which brings mega advertising $$$$$$$$$. I think its time for Kate plus eight to move out of the burbs and into a hot city for mom's hot romances!!!!
Andy! you're to die for! ...or, to work for! let me know how to get my resume to Bravo's desk!
I've got the chutzpah it takes to be BRAVO great.
I want your life!! Sure you don't need an assistant?! ha What a great time you seem to be having. You deserve it! Keep having fun, Andy.
Andy, Michaele has had MS for the last 18 yrs., really? I feel bad if it is true, and I am sorry, but I am having a hard time believing it. She is going to be on your show tonight, please ask her about it? Is she on any medications? If so, should she be drinking?
Andy, Thank God I get Wendy Williams show twice in one day, Can't wait to see you both!! 2 of my favorite people. I hope you did a how you doing!!
