After shocking the world with their split in 2016, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are kicking off 2017 by giving curious humans an update on their divorce proceedings.
"The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues," the said in a joint statement to CNN. "The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."
The statement is significant since it marks the first time they've released an update on their separation together.
Together the couple has six kids. They are currently ironing out the details of their divorce — including custody of the brood. The former Mrs. Pitt is seeking physical custody, while the former Mr. Jolie has requested joint custody.
