Whether you're on #TeamAngelina, like The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Siggy Flicker, or holding it down for #TeamBrad, everyone seems to have an opinion when it comes to the Brangelina split. That includes comedian Chelsea Handler, who posted her reaction to the news that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, in a short video posted to the Twitter account of her Netflix talk show Chelsea Wednesday.
First off, Chelsea started out with some personal news. “Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married,” she said. “And I always said I wouldn’t get married until they got divorced, so I’m officially accepting proposals. I’m ready.”
The break-up has been rumored to be caused by everything from Brad's parenting to his alleged extramarital affair to his reported substance abuse problems. If that last point turned out to be the case, Chelsea said she understands why. “There are rumors that part of the problem was that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed. I wonder why he needed to self-medicate,” she speculated. “Maybe because he could have been spending the last 12 years at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon, instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids speaking 15 different languages. Oh yeah, because he married a f***ing lunatic, that’s why.”
OK, so maybe Chelsea isn't really taking Brad or Angelina's side in this scenario. Let's not forget that she is good friends with Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
Still, Chelsea showed that she knows how much Brad, Angelina, and their children must be hurting right now. “But we should all respect their privacy during this very difficult time,” she said. “So this will be the last time I speak of this... on TV. You can follow me on Twitter.”
And if we know anything about Chelsea, we know that she'll have plenty more to say on the matter on social media.
