Ashley Graham Released Her Own Barbie Doll—Under One Condition

This little doll makes a big statement.

By Jenny Berg

The fashion and beauty world has made some strides toward keeping it real this year. First, Alicia Keys swore off makeup on the red carpet. Then, Khloe Kardashian gave body inclusivity a shot in the arm with her beautifully cast Good American Jeans campaign. Now, Ashley Graham has challenged Barbie to own her curves.

The model—who's famously the first plus-size beauty to cover Sports Illustrated—has collaborated with Mattel to create a curvy mini-me. Ashley helped reveal the doll at Glamour's Women of the Year summit in Los Angeles earlier this week. And unlike other impossibly proportioned dolls, the activist ensured that this one has thighs that touch. She even has cellulite. (Yes!)

The doll is part of Mattel's "Sheroes" capsule collection, which also features replicas of strong women like Misty Copeland and Zendaya.  The little plastic lady isn't available to the public (at least not yet) but you can still get a piece of Ashley through her recently launched lingerie line with Addition Elle. Or, you can always tune into her TED talk to feel as liberated as Barbie.
