We're rolling out five flavor mashups throughout the week, giving you the chance to vote on the one you'd like to see two Top Chef cheftestants cook with in our first-ever LIVE Top Chef Quickfire Challenge.
One of our new favorite pairings has roots that go way back, to French traditions of snacking on fresh bread with moldy cheese and raw honey (and a glass of wine, of course). Closer to home, the combo also has origins in Buffalo, New York, where everyone's favorite chicken wings often get paired with blue cheese dipping sauces tinged with honey.
This deliciously creamy, sharp flavor mashup is going beyond just toasts and hot wings — chefs are loving the sweet and savory duo for everything from ice cream loaded with veined cheese and sweet clover honey, to fresh dinner salads with sweet-and-salty dressings.
