Carrie Fisher’s Support Dog Gary is Set to Make His First Solo Appearance

We know he’ll be missing his mom.

Fans of Carrie Fisher (and fans of dogs) will undoubtedly remember her most loyal companion, Gary the dog. The pop culture icon’s emotional support French Bulldog traveled with her everywhere—from red carpets to award shows—and he eventually became the face of therapy animals in Hollywood.

Since his mom’s tragic passing, the sweet Frenchie was placed into custody of Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd (who was actually his original owner). But more recently, he has moved in with Fisher’s erstwhile assistant, Corby McCoin. It’s a natural pairing, as both Gary and McCoin traveled everywhere with Fisher. (They frequently appeared on Fisher’s Instagram together.)

Gary recently attended the annual Star Wars celebration in Orlando with Lourd, but next weekend, Gary will be making his first public solo appearance. He will be taking photos with fans at the Silicon Valley Comic Con, and all proceeds will go directly towards his care.

We know Fisher fans will be thrilled to meet Gary and enjoy a tiny piece of her life that she left behind. Assuming you can't make it to Comic Con, you can keep up with Gary on his official Instagram @GaryFisher.
