This Cinnamon Roll Casserole Will Seriously Up Your Brunch Game

Sugar and spice makes this casserole extra-nice.

If you thought cinnamon rolls were already perfect, it's because you never considered what would happen if you turned them into a casserole—yes, a casserole. Food blogger Danielle Baron of managed to trick out one of the most classic brunch foods of all time by layering ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls and adding milk, eggs, cinnamon and maple syrup in a casserole dish, and popping the whole thing back into an oven to bake into golden-brown, sweet-smelling bliss.

Baron, who happens to be the same mad genius responsible for the peanut butter dessert lasagna, told The Feast how she came up with this crazy-good cinnamon roll hack: "I was hosting a brunch and my kids wanted cinnamon buns. I knew I had to amp up those canned darlings to brunch level. It had to be a casserole to feed a crowd."

While her original recipe is just about the easiest semi-homemade brunch hack of all time, she says you can go wild with alterations once you get her basic recipe down.

"Toss in lots of dark chocolate chunks for a gooey chocolate-lover's version, or some cherry pie filling. You can even add some sliced bananas, toasted pecans and chocolate chips for the 'chunky monkey' lovers. The casserole transforms those individual rolls we all grew up loving into a gourmet, decadent breakfast," Baron says.

And who says this casserole has to feed a whole crowd? We're keeping this one all to ourselves.
