Comedian Jim Gaffigan's Wife Jeannie Undergoes 9-Hour Emergency Surgery For Brain Tumor

Doctors found a large tumor after an MRI.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan has revealed his wife and writing partner Jeannie Gaffigan is recovering after surgery to remove a brain tumor.

“Two weeks ago an MRI revealed Jeannie Gaffigan had a large tumor around her brain stem that was life threatening. After nine hours of urgent surgery the tumor was completely removed. She is now recovering at home. We thank you for your continued prayers,” he wrote on Facebook.

Jim, 50, says the tumor was completely removed, and that Jeannie, 47, is now home in New York with the couple’s five children. She posted on her Instagram page “I’m coming back! Thanks for your prayers. I'm alive!”

Jim hinted something was wrong when he canceled a standup show in Paris on April 30 “due to the family emergency.”

Jeannie produces Jim’s standup specials and the couple’s TV show, “The Jim Gaffigan Show.”
