The Drake Cake trend shows absolutely no signs of slowing down: Drake fans around the world continue to show their affection for the self-proclaimed Champagne Papi by baking his likeness into a cake. A #DrakeCake. Sometimes, these things are incredible — they spin, light up and pay proper tribute to the man, the myth and the legend. Others, well, others are not quite as successful, but they're sure amusing to stare at in their profound state of #fail.
Join us as we look at the best and worst Drake Cakes that have been shared online:
The BestThis geometric "Hotline Bling" cake has beautiful abstract art, unusual angles and—best of all—lots of Kit Kats. With this spinning stunner illuminated by LED lights, Drake gets the ballerina jewelry box treatment. A Sweet 16 cake features the amazing addition of a "Cakeshopped" photo of Drake with the birthday girl, which must be the most unbelievable dream come true for her. We love how Drake's face here is minimalist yet so expressive, and how it's surrounded by the appropriate blessings (read: riches).
The WorstThe elaborate flourishes on this cake are duly noted, but couldn't the baker include all of homie's face on it? The classic cake mistake of not finding enough room to write gets multiplied when you're trying to quote one of Drake's most famous lines (from "Best I Ever Had"). Underwater puns abound here. "Got a lot anemones" is an aquatic remix of Drake's song "Energy," which goes, "I got a lot of enemies." Sounds fishy. "For the love of Champagne Papi, we tried," reads the caption on this one. An "A" for intention, but it's time to start from the bottom again.
