My 4-Year-Old Picked These Easter Dresses & Promises Your Girls Will Love Them

Holiday dresses that both mom and daughter will like? It’s true, we've found them.

When it comes to getting gussied up for a special occasion, having a daughter is the best thing ever. Having a son is great too, of course, but if I’m being honest, picking out a little girl’s outfit—from the tights and dress to the sparkle shoes and matching headband—well, it is way more than fun than selecting khaki pants and a button down. (Although I do get a great amount of joy when I see my little boys wrestling the day away in their matching khakis and button downs!)

But here’s the thing about little girls: They are VERY opinionated. And stubborn. And picky. And when they’re not feeling a dress you’ve picked out for them, they’re not going to wear it. No matter how much persuading, bribing, time-outting you do. So to round up some options for Easter this year, I enlisted the help of my VERY opinionated, stubborn, picky four-year-old. She has vowed that 11 of these dresses are “so wonderful” and “perfect for going to a ball” and “great enough for princesses, too.” She loved all of them and promised me she would wear them without throwing a tantrum—all of them except for the sailor dress, of course. Because little girls for all of time having been fighting sailor dresses...but sometimes a mom needs to put her foot down and insist upon it, #amiright??
