When it comes to fashion, there are sure bets. Skinny jeans, for example, are universally flattering. White button-downs, black pants and wrap dresses are also becoming on 99-percent of the female population. But wide leg cropped trousers? Um, yeah, that’s not the first thought that pops into my mind when I am picking out something that’s going to make me look and feel great.
But, BUT, believe it or not, Everlane’s Wide Leg Crop are just that—universally flattering. Sold out since mid-April, the pant first came to market in February and were sold out in just 48 hours. They came back again in April, and once again flew off the virtual shelves. Why, oh why, are consumers clamoring for these cotton trousers? A few reasons: A high-rise waist holds you in and defines your shape. The cropped cut elongates the legs—a bonus for the shorties out there. And the combination of the two—plus one percent stretch in the fabric—gives your booty just the right amount of lift.
“They look great dressed down with white sneakers or with a stacked heel for a more polished look," Kelli Dugan, Everlane's product strategy and merchandising lead, told Refinery29 when the pants launched earlier this year.
Available in three colors and sizes 00 to 14, the best part about the pants just might be the price. Wait for it…they’re only 68 bucks. For reals. But grab them fast, because they’re sure to be gone by the weekend.
