What’s Game of Thrones' Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane’s Secret? More Than 14 Eggs A Day
If you want to try this diet at home, we just hope you like eggs and sweet potatoes. A lot.
Game of Thrones addicts already know that Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane doesn't shy away from sticking his thumbs into an adversary's eyeballs and turning his head into pudding. And if you've never seen GOT, surely that fact alone will make you want to binge-watch the show (or, possibly, steer clear of it forever). Either way, you're probably asking: Who is The Mountain in real life, anyway? And why does he have such muscular thumbs?
As it turns out, the actor (photo above courtesy of HBO), whose real-life name is HafjÓr JÚlíus BjÖrnsson (aka "Thor"), eats a lot of sweet potatoes every day. Also, lots of eggs, and beef, and some other things that are making us raise our eyebrows in wonder, awe and delight.
Thor is currently training for the World's Strongest Man Competition, hence the bizarre regimen. According to Buzzfeed, his diet adds up to about 10,000 calories a day—4300 calories before noon. This is what The Mountain had to say about his eating habits on his Facebook and Instagram:
"People been asking me a lot about my diet and what I eat! Here’s my diet plan for my preparation for World’s Strongest Man 2016! Yes this is a lot & I don’t recommend YOU to try this!!"
