It's almost too fitting that Gigi Hadid's first American Vogue cover is timed to the Olympics. Her dad, Mohamed Hadid, did compete in the 1992 Winter Olympics, representing Jordan in the speed skiing competition. And we have to say that Gigi simply slays alongside famed Olympian Ashton Eaton on the cover, which comes just weeks before the 2016 Summer Olympics kick off in Rio on August 5.
Inside the pages, Gigi (who is a bit of an equestrian in her off time) and Ashton (a gold medal-winning decathlete and heptathalete, aka he's amazing at track and field events) look just as graceful and athletic. While Gigi has covered Vogue before, she was pretty excited (as you might imagine) to finally grace the cover of the U.S. edition. She opened up about the epic cover on Instagram. "An ultimate dream come true, I am beyond humbled. Shooting my first American @voguemagazine cover, in my hometown, was so surreal. And to be able to share it with Olympic Gold Medalist and my new friend #AshtonEaton is such an honor. I couldn't think of a cover I'd rather be on than the one celebrating athletes," she said. "Being an athlete has brought so much pride and joy to my life and has instilled the work ethic that still drives me every day."
In case you're wondering, that body-clinging dress she's wearing is Versace. This look definitely deserves a gold medal.
And her mama/former model, Yolanda Hadid, also celebrated the victorious achievement.
