Gwyneth Paltrow’s 5 Favorite Destination Spas

Clean up your mind and body for spring... the Goop-approved way.

With a newly released line of organic skincare, Gwyneth Paltrow is now an official beauty-biz pro. But the actress and mogul has long known her way around wellness — and has the destination-spa experience to prove it. From Los Cabos to Chicago, here are five worldwide spas that Gwyneth would hop on a plane for any day. Have your healthy snacks and face masks on standby, then use this guide to start planning your next Goop-approved adventure.

1.  Mii Amo

The famous red rocks of Sedona, Arizona set the backdrop for this Goop-approved retreat. Enchantment Resort’s destination spa offers fully customized itineraries — or “journeys” — for three, four, or seven-night stays. A typical visit includes two daily spa services that cater to mind, body, and spirit (there’s even a staff astrologer.) Fresh, seasonal meals from the on-site café are included, but Gywn likes to wrap her days here with an added treat. “[This is] the only spa where you can get a martini at the end of the day in front a fire,” she recently noted on Goop.

2.  Esperanza

Gwyneth isn’t shy about her love for Los Cabos. The famously clean-eating star even breaks her diet to indulge in the area’s eats (apparently, the flan here is that good.) But when she wants some serious mind-body healing, Paltrow checks into this dreamy beach resort. At its luxury spa, popular treatments include the Sun Baked Stone Massage, which melts away muscle tension with warm stones and nourishing oils. But truthfully, even sitting at the pool here sounds like a mini spa day. Throughout the day, staffers give poolside massages and dole out fresh fruit and chilled water.

3.  Imanta Resort

Another Mexican hideaway (this one is on Mexico’s Gold Coast) Imanta is surrounded by tropical rainforests and beaches covered in powder-soft sand. Guests can hike, take yoga classes, and surf — or opt for a totally chill day with a treatment from the spa. Options range from in-room reflexology to a hot-stone massage deep in the jungle or a shiatsu massage on the beach. “Iman means magnet in Spanish, and Imanta really does draw you in,” Goop has attested.

4.  The Peninsula Chicago

You don’t have to renew your passport to get a taste of GP-approved luxury. In the Midwest, The Peninsula Chicago has long been a favorite spot for the star. Gwyn has cited the hotel's “great big pool and wonderful spa” as two main attractions — and at the latter, there's a captivating new range of services. The Sattva Vedic Aromatherapy Treatments use aromatherapy oils to treat everything from fatigue to stress, inflammation, and joint problems. And — Paltrow would be pleased to know — spa-goers can cap the day with a martini by that “great big pool,” which overlooks the storied Michigan Avenue.

5.  Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa

Job-envy alert: For a recent Goop retreat, Gwyneth and hear team spent a few days at this Southern California paradise. Its spa is hidden among lush gardens and olive groves, and treatments incorporate a natural bounty of flowers, minerals, and herbs. For an uplifting (and juicy!) facial and body treatment, spring for the “Citrus Supreme.” It hydrates and detoxifies skin, and smells great to boot.
