The rapper, 26, dumped the NBA player, 31, after it was revealed he likely cheated on her back in March and she couldn’t trust him again. Iggy let her fans know on Sunday, when she took to her Instagram to announce the break-up. The message to her 8.8 million followers read, “Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him. It's become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to. I genuinely wish Nick the best. It's never easy to part ways with the person you planned you're entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.”
Nick was a bit more to the point, confirming the news via his Twitter with one word: “Single.”
Nick was in trouble after his teammate D'Angelo Russell leaked a video where Nick admits to cheating on Iggy. At the time, Iggy thanked him, citing on Twitter, “hmmm i see D'Angelo Russell is trending... I actually liked his film. Thanks bro.”
But the two stayed together, with the rapper saying she hadn’t broken up with Nick after the video leaked. “We are together and I would love to be given a little (a lot) of privacy on the matter,” she said at the time.
During an interview with The Bert Show right after the video went public, Iggy was asked whether she could ever trust Nick again.
“I don't know. I'm still figuring it all out. It's still fresh,” she said. “Because when you're in the heat of the moment or things are still progressing or coming out and you're getting new information, the way you feel about things can change really quickly. It can go up and down.”
The two began dating in 2013 and announced their engagement in June 2015.
