Don't believe the hype. Oprah Winfrey has shut down tabloid rumors that she and her longtime beau of 30 years, Stedman Graham, are getting married. So, if you've received some sort of save-the-date for the Winfrey-Graham nuptials, it looks like it may have come from another pair with the same last names. "6 people who know me well have called today congratulating me or surprised they weren't invited to my wedding," Oprah wrote, before being completely clear that "IT's NOT TRUE!!"
And you know when someone shuts down a rumor with all caps, then you know they mean business. However, E! News reports that in 2015, the media maven told Shonda Rhimes during a Super Soul Sunday interview that marriage was once in the cards for the pair, who began dating in 1986. Stedman did propose to his famous better half back in the day. "The moment he asked me to marry him I was like: 'Oh God, now I actually have to get married?'"she shared, revealing they even agreed to push the date of the 1993 ceremony. But the topic never came up again. "What I realized is, I don't want to be married, because I could not have the life that I created for myself. I couldn't do it."
As of late, Oprah has been quite candid when it comes to revealing details about her personal life with Stedman. Just last week, she shared how her recent weight loss has changed their love life. "I would like him to pick me up and carry me to the pool," she said last week. "I've lost enough weight, he can pick me up and carry me to the pool. I can straddle him without breaking his back."
