Jennifer Garner says she and Ben Affleck are “doing well,” and that the two have become great friends since their separation last year.
The actress was promoting her latest movie, Nine Lives, on Today Thursday, and talked about co-parenting, and traveling with her ex for the sake of their three kids.
“It has to be [a good relationship], you don't have a choice,” Jen said. “We are definitely a modern family.”
Ben and Jen are parents to daughters Violet, 10, and Seraphina, 7, and 4-year-old son Samuel.
Jen also spoke about going to London as a family earlier this year, because she wanted the kids to see their father film Justice League.
“You know, Ben was working in London on Justice League and I felt like, ‘well the kids should have that experience,’” she said. “And he and I are great friends and we just all went en masse.”
The family was spotted enjoying the sights in April and taking weekend trips on the train to Paris and Italy.
“I just love the idea of celebrating that parenting is about time,” Jen said. “You cant buy parenting no matter what. You have to get down on the floor and spend some time together.”
Jen is hard at work too, and later this year will be seen in Wakefield, with Bryan Cranston, and The Tribes of Palos Verdes.
Jen and Ben first met in 2001 on the set of Pearl Harbor.
They announced their split in June of last year after it was revealed Ben was having an affair with the children's nanny. Jen later said the two had already been separated for months by the time she found out.
