The advent of Instagram has brought us a great many things: famous furry friends like Chloe the Mini Frenchie, the rise of Kylie Jenner (and thirst traps in general), and, of course, emojis inspired by the many great things Instagram has given us. But perhaps the greatest gift Instagram has given us (thus far, anyway) is the gift of Jess Rona.
Rona, a Los Angeles-based dog groomer, rose to viral fame after she began sharing short, slow-motion videos of her blow-drying her canine clients. The clips are set to music—Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love,” Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself” and The Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” have each soundtracked one of Rona’s mini-masterpieces—which lends a truly dramatic and glamorous feel. (Just ask Tegan and Sara, who commissioned Rona to direct their “100x” music video.)
Rona’s short films have brought her some well-earned fame, but there is a downside: She’s fully booked up and not currently accepting any new clients. Our sincere condolences to you and your pups. So if you want your cinematic dog grooming fix (and who doesn’t?), you’ll have to get it by watching a selection of her masterworks below (and by following her on Instagram and Facebook, of course).
And here’s the music video for “100x” Rona directed for Tegan and Sara:
