Historically, Thanksgiving has been a thorny time for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Remember the year she accidentally turned down a date with Tim Whatley because she’d lost her hearing during a Dixieland band performance while waiting for a balloon-holder’s pass for the Macy’s Day Parade for Mr. Pitt?
Wait, wait: That was Elaine on an episode of Seinfeld. The real Julia Louis-Dreyfus has likely had 56 amazing Thanksgivings, because she is an outstanding woman who brings us all joy.
This year, the Veep actress returned to her former home of Chicago with her husband of 30 years, Brad Hall. “Happy Thanksgiving early morning in Chicago,” she posted on Instagram along with a photo of the city’s skyline. “I love this town.”
Despite the fact that Julia has been battling breast cancer, the disease hasn’t dampened her spirits. She underwent her third round of chemo earlier this month, and is still all smiles, as usual.
To wit: This wide-grinning snap of herself and her husband, reminiscing, “Our old apartment on the lake on the north side of Chicago where we happily lived IN SIN. #thankful”
