Khloé Kardashian rushed to ex-husband Lamar Odom’s side following his near-death overdose in 2015, but immediately upon hearing the news, she was told he was dead.
The rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family were incorrectly told the NBA player had died and the false info quickly spread.
“I was screaming,” Khloe reveals in the Keeping Up with the Kardashians 10th Anniversary Special, airing Sunday. “To think and to go through the motions as if someone has passed away is the most traumatic thing to do and then to know they’re really alive, it was too many emotions, I think, for any of us to handle.”
Lamar, who had a history of drug problems throughout the duo’s marriage, was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, where he had overdosed, then was placed in a coma for four-days. He made a miraculous recovery.
Kendall Jenner revealed she found out with an alarming text from Kim upon landing in London.
“It had said Lamar passed away,” Kendall said. “And I immediately started sobbing on the plane. Then I got the next text came through, saying, ‘Actually he’s okay, he’s alive but he’s not doing well.’ So that’s why I was so upset, because I wanted to be there to be able to say goodbye.”
Lamar later checked into rehab, and Khloe refiled for divorce.
