Kim Kardashian Takes Break From Work, Vows to Stop Flaunting Wealth After Paris Robbery: "Material Things Mean Nothing"

Her $4.5 million ring was last seen on Snapchat just before the crime.

After Kim Kardashian was robbed of jewels totaling about $11 million in value, she has vowed to stop flaunting her wealth on Instagram and other social media.

In the crime, she was stripped of her 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring, a gift from husband Kanye West worth about $4.5 million. The five masked thieves also got away with a jewelry box including baubles worth $6.7 million.

The ring was last seen sparkling on her finger on Snapchat earlier in the evening, and Kim regularly posts — or used to post — images of herself dripping in jewels.

For that reason, she's been the target of critical comments that she brought the crime on herself. According to TMZ, the reality star apparently now agrees with the critics — and plans to stop flaunting her wealth as she used to. "Material things mean nothing," TMZ's source reports she said. "It's not all about the money. It's not worth it."

She has reportedly also decided to take a month off work after the traumatizing event.
