Kourtney Kardashian regularly offers recipes and other nutritional tidbits on her subscription-based site. And despite how many salads Kim Kardashian eats every week (yes, we finally know the answer to that question), Kourtney seems to have all her other family members beat when it comes to eating clean — even going to rather extreme measures in her efforts to do so.
We know that her household is gluten free and dairy free, kids and all. And now we know that she is also very strict when it comes to using a very common kitchen appliance: the microwave. It's a no-no.
“When I had [first son] Mason, I did a lot of health-related research and decided to get rid of my microwave when I read that toxins from plastic containers can be transferred to food when reheated (this applies to BPA-free plastic containers too),” she wrote on her site, reported by People. “Also, I’ve heard that microwaves can leach nutrients from food and use radiation to heat food. I’m not sure how accurate this is, but when it comes to my family, I play it safe.”
Instead, Kourtney reheats her food in the oven or a toaster oven, which she says yields a more evenly cooked result.
