Road to Reunion: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Kyle Richards Bought Herself the Ultimate Pick-Me-Up After a Dramatic RHOBH Reunion Taping

The #RHOBH mom and pal Lisa Vanderpump reached for some retail therapy following the Season 7 sit down.

Kyle Richards and her husband, Mauricio Umanksy, showed up to support the LGBTQ community last Saturday night in Beverly Hills at the Family Equality Council’s Impact Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

How to Watch

"I'm coming here to show my support. Some of my friends in same sex marriages are the best couples and most beautiful families that I've ever met in my life," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom said. "Our children were raised seeing that you know it's not new to them. We've come so far and I'm so worried that we're going to go backwards, so I'm here to lend my support and show them some love. We are all free to love who we love."

And while Kyle was thrilled to be a part of this event, one recent event she seemed less fond of was the RHOBH reunion, which was taped last week at Warner Brothers in Los Angeles (incidentally, the same studio where Kyle is filming her new scripted series).

"It's not fun at all! I mean the next day, I just can't even explain. I feel like I can't move. I have to like clear my schedules. You feel so bad and drained, physically and emotionally," Kyle explained.

So just how did she combat the brutal reunion mud slinging? "I did take myself shopping the next day. Lisa Vanderpump called me up and said, 'You know what you? We deserve something!'”

"She takes care of herself. Exactly," added Mauricio.

Kyle relunctantly told us what she purchased after the fiasco. "I don't really like to talk about buying stuff. Nothing like specific. Well, you know, it was a gift for myself for the season. I bought myself an Hermes bag, a Birkin bag."

Kyle continued her retail confession: "Lisa Vanderpump called me in the morning and was like, 'Let's go buy ourselves some jewelry!'  and I said, 'Okay, I'll meet you there.' But then I called and was like, 'Okay I changed my mind, I want a Birkin, I'll see you later!'"

While Maurico was supportive of his wife's shopping spree, he wouldn't exactly call himself a mall rat. "Oh God, I don't shop. I'm the worst shopper in the world. I shop twice a year. I go in, I buy everything and then I'm done," he says.

So will we ever see the couple at a Target or a Walmart? "Never, never." Maurico laughed.

"You'll see me there but you won't see him there," Kyle confirmed.

When Kyle is not out looking for Birkins, she has another guilty pleasure. "I put on Bravo a lot and so you know I'll see Vanderpump Rules, and the other Housewives, or NeNe [Leakes] and the other ones. It's fun for me as a Housewife seeing these other franchises and what they're going through," she said. "I used to not watch any television, but now that I'm producing I make it a point to like really watch all the shows. See what's going on with these other reality shows. You know they're fighting and you're like, ‘Ah, you know misery loves company.’"
