Lady Gaga Shares Iconic Horseback Riding Advice That Is Actually Just Commentary About Her Dating Life

Queen of getting a horse as a gift from her record label and talking about her vagina while explaining how she rides!

Lady Gaga is many things. Pop star. Actress. Italian. Pink hat-wearer. Proud dog mom. Horseback riding aficionado. *Record scratch* Say whaaaaat??? If that last one caught you by surprise, you are not alone. But it’s a fact: Stefani Joanne “Lady Gaga” Angelina Germanotta is kind of… a horse girl?

I feel like I've known her my whole life she wants to show me things. 🦄

In a new interview with V Magazine, Gaga explains that while living in California, she developed a special affinity for horses despite never having ridden one. In 2015, her record label presented her with a gift: a white Arabian mare named Arabella, and the rest, as they say, is horsestory. “I literally did not know how to ride a horse,” Gaga says. “But I just grabbed her by the mane and rode her bareback.”

But just as Gaga did not stop with one French bulldog, she did not stop with one horse. She later purchased a “boyfriend” for Arabella, a stallion named Trigger, “Because I didn’t want her to be alone,” she explains. “With him, I have to ride with a saddle. When I ride him, it always makes me feel so powerful, because he is so powerful,” she continues, before adding, “There’s no pressure. I just get on the horse and go. It’s sort of a metaphor for all the guys I’ve been with.”

Somewhere, Taylor Kinney is blushing.

But how does Gaga, who famously had to cancel a sold-out tour in 2012 after she literally broke her hip, manage the physical demands of riding? Cue the most Gaga explanation possible:

“My body’s been through a lot over the years. Riding has forced me to be fearless pretty quickly. It’s all about down here,” Gaga notes as she points to her crotch, “in that woman area.” She adds, “Balance, strength, persistence.”

A metaphor for all of the guys she’s been with, indeed.

Considering the country-western vibes of Gaga’s current Joanne era, it’s safe to say that Arabella and Trigger have done wonders for the pop star’s creativity. It’s just one more reason to love horses, and to believe they might be the closest things to angel-muses we have on Earth.
