Star Trek Superfans, Prepare to Plotz: Now You Can Fly Zero Gravity With Captain Kirk IRL

OK, it's technically William Shatner — but still!

If you love Star Trek, and you love luxury travel experiences — and you have a boatload of loot — this one's for you.

Captain Kirk — known in the real world as William Shatner — has partnered with privately held space entertainment and tourism company Zero Gravity Corporation and Roddenberry Adventures to offer fans the chance to fly in zero-gravity conditions with the man who played their favorite screen captain.

Yes, imagine flying side-by-side with Kirk. You will positively blow up Instagram (or, at least, certain niches of it)

It's all going down in August in Las Vegas, as thousands of costumed fans descend upon Sin City for their annual convention.

As part of the special flight experience, pilots in the company's specially modified Boeing 727 will perform a series of parabolic arcs to create the exhilarating feeling of floating through space. At the top of each arc, flyers will soar through the plane trying their luck at tricks and flips. Of course, a meet and greet with Shatner follows, back on earth.

“Going weightless will turn a dream into reality,” Shatner said in an announcement about the offering. “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to actually explore the Final Frontier" — zing! — "and now I have the opportunity to experience zero gravity firsthand. It will be an incredible adventure.”

A limited number of tickets for this exclusive flight on August 4 are now on sale to the general public... for a scant $9,950 per seat, in case you have that sum burning a hole through your pocket.

Oh, and if this isn't the experience that jives with your idea of fun in Vegas? Spend your money on a whole other sort of baller experience while in town for just 24 hours... whether or not you quietly judge passing Star Trek convention-goers is up to you.
