Her soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton just announced she was pregnant with baby number three, but Meghan Markle has stolen her thunder with a stunning new Vanity Fair cover, where she dishes on Prince Harry and their future together.
The two have been together for over a year, but this is the first tine the actress has spoken publicly about her royal guy, fifth-in-line to the throne. Meghan, 36, pretty much teased that this is all we’ll be getting for a while, so enjoy it while you can.
The Suits actress, styled in a Carolina Herrera Resort '18 collection $7,990 satin bustier dress, admitted the two are madly in love.
“We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,” Meghan reveals. “This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
So do we. Is there more before the Queen gets wind of this and shuts down the whole operation? Will there be an engagement?
Royal watchers speculated it would be last month, when the duo visited Botswana to celebrate Meghan's 36th birthday, or any of the times Harry escaped Kensington Palace to pick Meghan up at the airport on her trips to the UK. They were also spotted in Norway, taking in a play in London’s West End, and shuttling in the same car to Pippa Middletown’s wedding reception.
Meghan also reveals that while the two met in May 2016, they didn’t hook up until that July. About how public the relationship has become, the actress says, “It has its challenges, and it comes in waves — some days it can feel more challenging than others.”
“And right out of the gate it was surprising the way things changed. But I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend’s support,” she adds. “I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple. We’re two people who are really happy and in love.”
Meghan says she avoids all news about herself, and just focuses on work and her relationship with friends, family, and Harry.
“The people who are close to me anchor me in knowing who I am. The rest is noise,” she says. “Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
She was outed as Harry’s girlfriend last October, and Harry himself confirmed it within days, issuing a statement via Kensington Palace confirming their relationship.
