All eyes are on Melania Trump this morning as her husband gets sworn in as President of the United States. Before today, rumors swirled that Ralph Lauren would design something for the new first lady to wear. And, guess what? The rumors were right.
This morning, the Ralph Lauren Corporation put out an apolitical statement confirming the news: "The Presidential Inauguration is a time for the United States to look our best to the world. It was important to us to uphold and celebrate the tradition of creating iconic American style for this moment.”
Melania opted for a pale-blue cashmere look, which paired a short, collared jacket with a slim-cut dress. The dress's throwback silhouette has evoked comparisons to Jackie Kennedy, and Melania also wore towering blue stilettos and matching gloves. Her hair was swept back in an elegant updo, and sizable jewels glittered in her ears.
Hillary Clinton also wore a Ralph Lauren ensemble, as she did many times on the campaign trail. Her look was a nude, jewel-neck suit, which she wore under a cream, cashmere coat.
Ivanka Trump opted for a pantsuit as well—hers was by Oscar De La Renta.
