Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio had a glamorous wedding for friends and family on April 19, complete with model bridesmaids and a five-tier wedding cake.
The model and her now husband, Grammy-winning singer Gary Clarke Jr., wed in Palm Springs and hosted a pre-wedding weekend party at the nearby Coachella festival, where they first met four years ago.
The model chose a gorgeous Steven Khalil custom-designed white gown for the ceremony, held at the Colony Palms Hotel. She later changed into a more low-key dress, made by Yolancris.
“I went through thousands of dresses, ideas, and custom designs to find something that was truly authentic to me and everything I dreamed about,” Nicole told Brides. "As a model, I don't usually get to choose the styles I wear on the day of a shoot, but on my wedding day I got to show off my style."
One guest tells Personal Space the couple chose Sam Cooke’s You Send Me as their first dance song, and that the cake was made of two giant tiers of Vanilla Berry Crunch, and three tiers of Vanilla Bean Salty Caramel with a peony floral design on it.
The couple’s one-year old son Zion Rain was walked down the aisle by his godmother, model Jessica Gomes, while model Gemma Ward was another bridesmaid.
The groom wore a classic John Varvatos suit, while Zion also had a custom-made suit.
"He went into the archives to select their looks," says the bride. "Gary wore a true John Varvatos style, while Zion's outfit was custom made."
Citizen Cope performed Sebastian Tellier’s La Ritournelle as Trunfio walked down the aisle towards a floral archway. The two exchanged rings form the model’s own jewelry line, Trunfio Universe.
They married on a Tuesday to work around Gary's touring schedule, and as he was set to play both weekends at Coachella, they chose a nearby area.
