This Luxe Throw Blanket Is Going to Blow Your Mind

Everything you know about throw blankets is about to be reinvented.

Confession: Throw blankets (and pillows, if I’m being honest) are my jam. I like to have them in every room in my house, multiple per couch, one for each sitting chair—you get the picture. Because when you finally have the opportunity to sit down and take a load off, you want to snug as a bug, am I right? And throw blankets provide the warmth and cozy factor, without sacrificing on style—unless, of course, you’re buying bright yellow emoji-patterned fleece throws, in which case, I’m sorry but we have nothing in common.

Back to those stylish throws, though! I did a triple take recently when I read the that news that cult-favorite bedding brand Parachute had partnered with cult-favorite fashion designer Jenni Kayne to create a luxe throw blanket. Talk about a perfect marriage. Known for her cool, California aesthetic, Kayne brought her intrinsic luxurious-yet-minimalist touch to this collaboration, which resulted in the Fringe Alpaca Throw. Soooo soft, sooo thick, soooo alpaca-y. You know your favorite sweater that you put on when it’s below zero outside? Now reimagine it as a blanket—and it still won’t be as fluffy or cozy as this throw. Yes, it really is that sublime.

The one caveat is the price—at $399, this is an investment piece that falls squarely into the “treat yo’ self” category. It also makes for one hell of a housewarming or anniversary or “I’m-so-sorry-I-crashed-your-car” gift. Regardless of whether you or someone you love is the recipient, my point here remains the same: This is the best luxury throw blanket on the market right now. And it can be yours—but you better act fast because, per usual, Parachute’s stock sells out FAST.
