Pippa's Wedding 101: "Throne Room" Porta Pottys, Security, And A $350,000 Reception

It's on Saturday!

It’s not the Royal Wedding, but it’ll be a wedding with royals—which is good enough for us.

Tomorrow Kate Middleton’s younger sister Pippa will marry hedge fund honcho James Matthews in Berkshire, England.

Here’s what we know so far:

James, 41, is the perfect match for Pippa, who will also become royalty of sorts when they two marry. Pippa, 32, will be known as Lady Glen Affric in royal circles, with access to the Scottish highlands estate of her father-in-law, David Matthews, the Laird of Glen Affric, which is 10,000-acres.

James is the chief exec of Eden Rock Capital Management Group in London and owns his own jet. When he proposed in 2015, he bought Pippa a three-carat Asscher-cut diamond, which cost nearly $300,000. Basically, he’s rich.

Sadly, James had a brother, Michael, who died descending Mount Everest. It happened in 1999, when Spencer was 22 years old. His brother Spencer is a reality star in the UK.

Family and guests going to the wedding include Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince George, who will be a page boy, part of a tradition in British weddings where he will likely carry the train of Pippa’s dress, and Princess Charlotte, who will be a bridesmaid.

According to The Guardian, Prince Harry is expected to attend the nuptials, and will bring girlfriend Meghan Markle to the drinks reception in Englefield House, “which was used for the filming of I Wanna Marry Harry, the 2014 series in which 12 women competed to win the hand of a lookalike they believed was the prince.”

Here is Meghan saying, "hi, here I am, invite must have gotten lost in the mail."

“The bride will be dressed by Giles Deacon or Emilia Wickstead or Erdem, reports have speculated, and will carry hydrangeas or peonies in a red, white and blue theme – or alternatively, since that sounds highly unlikely, she will not,” says the report.

Another says she chose Sarah Burton of the Alexander McQueen as her dress designer.

There was basically no budget for the wedding. The Middletons have constructed a “huge glass conservatory-style marquee” in the garden of their home, where the reception is. Porta Potty “throne rooms” for guests cost over $6,000 each. Princess Diana’s favorite party planner organized the reception, which will have an air show finale.

The ceremony beforehand will be held at St. Mark’s, a 12th-century church on the private estate in Englefield, Berkshire, just six miles from the village of Bucklebury, where Pippa and Kate grew up with their wealthy parents, Carole and Michael.

A fleet of Bentleys was ordered to transport guests from the church to the reception.

There was a wedding rehearsal at the church on Friday, and security was seen sweeping the grounds.

The queen is not expected to attend. Pippa’s best friends from the University of Edinburgh are expected, along with Roger Federer, for some odd reason.

Pippa has been on a “three-month bridal boot camp,” which includes prepared meals, yoga, Pilates, spinning, cardio training, dance and meditation classes. She is trying to top her best ever look yet.
